Oh i couldn't find the tweet. I thought he removed it.
Thanks for finding it. But it doesn't matter my point still stands.

Last night he had a chance to make a definite statement that It was a video in response to the PCGamer article calling him out and pitting him against his Chief Engineer. He could have easily ended everything. Instead he did the exact opposite, he actually confirms the demo being run on the laptop at 45fps by bench-marking it against the ps5 performance.

Wow. I knew everything that was in the PS5 but never realized how much of it was lacking the Xbox solution. MS better hope devs dont utilize the PS5 SSD in any meaningful ways next gen because this is not looking good.
Hope devs can find a way to stack up or crossfire the two devkits, and can utilize the PS5 SSD to help in with the XSX games development.

It just comes across as a kind of childish desperate need to validate and promote a choice of a toy. Imagine being in your 30's and feeling compelled to be like that.
It seems so since he wants to "destroy sony ponies"

So not a lot of credibility.

Don't know why anyone would even bother to quote someone that. Reminds me of Jez Cordan and that PS5 RROD incident.

Get the tissues. One more. From an alternate universe...

:messenger_crying::messenger_weary::messenger_loudly_crying:

I really loved DriveClub, although only took it for free from the PS Plus. It had one of, if not the best sounds, graphics, and a wonderful mix between sim and arcade racing. I would really love to see it flourish side by side with GT7 as the Forza Horizon competitor, with more open world and in depth modifications.

Even though I see The Crew to be my best car game, but that game has plenty of flaws. For me, DC had the best sense of speed and immersion, didn't try GT Sport yet but might pick it up soon as well because it didn't have SP/career mode when it came out.

I don't see the point in linking such a terrible (new) Twitter account, Ascend?
Well, the account is indeed a mess, but, I found it interesting that this person has more followers than he himself is following. Normally, it would be the opposite if someone is a nobody, to put it bluntly.

And selecting that as your pinned Tweet. It's laughing to hide the paranoia level attention seeking.

Also the rest of his/her pathetic tweets... like supercar owner, pics of a Lambo in Utah, then his/her house being built in California... I remember I was about 16 and pretty insecure when I was humble bragging like that. At least I had the excuse of the age.

Sorry I cannot tell you more about that, but I am under NDA.

It's like those movies that are so bad, that they are good. Only it doesn't work that well in people.

Well great then he wasn't looking for attention .... It's still not relevant or credible even better contradict what most devs claim about ssd(he later said that this can't help textures which is obviously false in case you wonder).

You might want to look for another source.

I loved Driveclub with all its imperfections, but I would really like a PS5 Assetto Corsa.

You should have done a little bit more research before sharing.

We are all hungry for information but that doesn't mean they we will accept it from anyone.

AFAIK you cannot manage GPU cache with DX12. At all.

I can't even imagine how it could be done as a software implementation. It's very low level stuff. Basically a GPU will only get a cache miss if the specific data it wanted has now changed, and not if any one piece of data in its cache has now changed. The cache scrubbers can selectively invalidate and the Coherency Engine can direct them and keep the caches and RAM "coherent" or in sync. I think that's all the Coherency Engine does? Two bits of hardware to do that task.

I honestly find GT to be sterile and dull, it hasn't really grown with the times in terms of feel and despite some improvement it still remains very much the cliched "bumper cars with vacuum cleaners for engines" game. Even though I'm all for a sim, it just doesn't excite me or feel exhilarating in the slightest, it makes me feel cold. PD must have enormous resources by now, but I don't see where it's going as it just doesn't seem to grow much. I've always been a PlayStation gamer primarily, but I have to give credit where credit is due, Forza MS has pretty much outclassed it for me. I feel like PD are just going through the motions while T10 seem to really push forward.

DC was flat out my favourite racing game, it certainly wasn't a sim but it wasn't too arcadey either, it just struck that perfect simcade balance, a kinda luxurious hollywood realism. As you mention, the sense of speed is unmatched. I can feel the passion of the devs oozing out of the game.

The odd thing is, that while GT may be the supposedly realistic one with all the physically correct simulation going on, DC actually feels more like how it feels to drive an actual car. I've driven a few cars that are in each game and GT may get the numbers right, but no doubt about it, DC nails the sensation.. I also find the overbearing "stiffness" in GT to be a drag, cars don't steer that way in real life, I find it's just being difficult because difficult supposedly = realistic.

I hope GT7 can prove me wrong, I loved GT once too, but that was a different time. :'(

With it disappearing off the store, I'll be clinging to my physical copy of DC indefinitely (would barely even get a fiver for it now anyway). It's criminal that Sony didn't fork out for a Pro patch at least (even if they had to outsource it post-dissolution of evo studios). Given that the OG target for DC was 60fps and they only locked to 30fps because they wanted to guarantee stability, I wouldn't have been at all surprised if the 1.60GHz>2.13GHz could have netted a pretty solid 60fps, alongside a bump to at least 1440p. It's a beautiful looking game but it's starting to look a little crispy now that I'm playing it on a 55" 4K OLED as opposed to the 42" 1080p LCD I initially played it on.

Saying that, the 30fps on DC is excellent, the 30fps is solid, frame-times are perfect, latency is great, internal simulation is running higher I believe and there's no apparent tearing, plus there's great motion blur. While 60fps will of course be preferable, there's nothing unpleasant about it and it's certainly not night and day with other 60fps racers.

Why not? You can do it in CPUs, software prefetch. :messenger_sunglasses:
But for DX12 I would suspect just old boomer methods: 3rd frame is the winner! :messenger_tears_of_joy: (if you don't get the reference, think why in the control panel there is a setting about how many frames the driver can "prepare" in advance)
Or they will just use SFS for everything.
After all they set up buffers each frame anyway in DX12.

Thanks but what if I have it in my phone?
What I do:
  • I go to giphy.com
  • Search for a gif. For example I'm bored and want to express boredom so I search "bored"
  • I pick the gif I like
  • I tap and hold on the gif until options appear
  • I tap open in new tab
  • Then I copy the URL in the address bar from the new tab
  • Then I tap on the icon here that looks like a picture with a mountain
  • Paste the link in there
  • Tap insert
  • Done!

I believe it still applies. You can see the image icon even on your phone.

Nah it's OK to criticize, but calling me out because I pointed out a liar in the Xbox group is the pathetic thing here, don't yell at me, yell at Colteastwood who you're defending him right now and defending his lies and misinformation.

PlayStation 5 will DESTROY Xbox Series X in games and sales it's not even comparable!!

Scream at Microsoft. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

Indeed. TBiddy TBiddy , genuinely curious, what is your take on that particular colteastwood situation?

That is unfortunate lol. My red flag at this point goes off as soon as I see claims of “folks believe the SSD is a game changer!” when it is a bit more complicated than that. It is the I/O engineering as a whole of which the SSD has a very crucial role unless I am totally mistaken. Qilin and others who make similar sarcastic (or otherwise) claims should always strive to include “I/O engineering” alongside “SSD”.

Nextgen need more games that have such Heavy focus on story and bringing an iconic character without utilizing the character in odd ways for personal purpose like what we got in current gen in some games . That will not happen if there no effort in Making the lore of a story from scratch not copying from other games , the only way to reach that perfect game imo is to build a foundation a solid one which is The Story , the characters, the background story for everyone and the original soundtrack , such a waste to see Devs focusing on open worlds and online gaming with a little story behind it .

Let’s hope for the best
