It was only a matter of time.
Some people will look stupid after all the damning trashtalking the last couple of months.

Too bad most of them got banned, I'd like to see the tantrums when Sony announces/releases 1st party PS5 exclusives. Or at least one.

Yeah, those are ppl we know with agendas. Ppl can't be tht stupid to think based on history tht Sony was being quiet because they had no confidence or had nothing to show. Tht was blatant troll talk, any person with a brain would know Sony has alot going on and alot to show in terms of gaming. They lead gaming on many fronts from more produced first party games, innovation in hardware like psvr, evolving and innovating software features, etc...

Same, but the jump in visuals/performance for VR games mostly.

Also, hoping the rumor about HZD2 early 2021 release is true. 🙌🏾

VR info is my most wanted thing. Enjoy my psvr and it was very innovative and risky for Sony to be the first to go VR on consoles but thy did a great job given the hardware. This psvr jump should be massive.

Ppl talk about innovation you don't get more innovative than getting VR to work on consoles and giving ppl a literal new way to play. Sony continuously evolving and pioneering the way.

This is going to be one of the best Sony consoles I believe with as usual tons of games, evolution and innovative controller with crazy features, PSVR2 is going to be a big jump, good cooling, the usual great software/hardware features, etc...

Sony seems to be doing everything right. Again none of this is cheap so I know it'll be at least 499 but it will sell like fire and be a gd deal relative to hardware and specs. They will dominate in sales once again and all tht profit will make them push harder and focus on gaming and new surprises. We are all in for a great great console generation.

Non-fragmented communities you mean.
I don’t think you understand the quote.
And I think you should look up the definition of fragments. That’s what PS4 and ps5 players will be within the ps community. It’s a philosophy that benefits mostly Sony. Not so much. the customer.

Fragmenting would mean spreading the userbase across multiple communities such as PS4 and PS5. What they’re doing is the opposite. You buy a PS5 to play PS5 games.

PS4 is tapering off.

He's saying that by not having PS5 games work on a PS4 it's fragmenting the community because it's not all the same ecosystem.

But this isn't like map packs or DLC or some shit. There's no reason for a prolonged PS4/PS5 transition beyond the games that will be launching on the PS4 soon, that should also be available on the PS5, certainly not the other way around, you're restricting progression by doing that.

What consumer? Who elected you the representative of PlayStation customers?

Sony's job is to cater to the specific wants of their customers and what they want is great exclusives that use the hardware to maximum effect and tell a great story that people will remember etc.

I don't care about crossplay, streaming, subscription gaming or backwards compatibility... I want new stuff that amazes me when I get a next gen console. Are you seriously going to buy and SX and come in boasting about running Ninja Gaiden Black at 120 fps? Nobody cares.

There's a reason PlayStation 4 is over 110 million and Xbox is at 46.... so I don't think they need a lecture on what consumers want.

Isolating would be the correct term. They’re isolating PS5 community away from PS4 since they are two different entities.

Fragmenting suggests they are splitting an existing community which isn’t the case.

Good i hope he backs it up with the heavy hitters at launch not B and C level franchises like the last 2 Sony launches. It be good for the fans not to have to wait a year or more for the "A" franchises. Bring them with 399.99 with lots of supply. I want every generation to get off to a great start.

"I think the best way that we can address this is by providing the best possible value proposition that we can. I don't necessarily mean lowest price. Value is a combination of many things. In our area it means games, it means number of games, depth of games, breadth of games, quality of games, price of games... all of these things and how they avail themselves of the feature set of the platform."

Brace yourself for $499-$549

Thete is currently a single community all on PS4. From the ps5 release day, that community will be split between 2 groups. The one that will have upgraded and will be able to play ps5 games and the ones that won’t.
But we can use isolate if you prefer that term.

What are people most excited about? Me? The fucking first party games I know are coming, the surprises, the hidden little hardware features and software features and hopefully eventually a wireless psvr!!!!
i am excited all around about PS5. i like to see the box, but maybe even more, i like to see the game case. i hope its clean case :) also, for me personally, loading is big deal, huge deal, also big deal if you can switch between 2 or more games. also excited about the games. i really hope that we will get proper GT game :) Wireless PSVR sounds sick.

Calm down soldier, last time I checked, your opinion wasn’t more valid than anybody else’s.
As a matter of fact, this has nothing to do with what you care about or who is a representative of consumers. Assuming that I am only an Xbox consumer because I am not systematically applauding every Sony consumer practice is the kind of juvenile attitude that only benefits Sony’s shareholders and if you are not one I feel sorry for you.
It’s a fact that not requesting every consumer to upgrade from release day on in order to play next gen games is consumer friendly for the vast majority of the people that have invested in the brand. Whether I personally like it or not change that fact.
Thanks for your personal opinion on cross play and on what Sony’s job is. I only deal with facts.

No, I don't agree with everything Sony does... I think streaming and bringing exclusives to PC is bullshit and I've been very critical of Jim Ryan and the politically charged culture that can alienate people over there.

So you're way off... my point was PlayStation customers are not exactly the same as Xbox customers and being 'pro consumer' is not ubiquitous.

PlayStation is pro consumer because they provide a platform that would otherwise not exist and it offers competition to Nintendo, Xbox, PC and others by creating great hardware and excellent games and content.... the games wouldn't exist if there was no platform.

You're opinions are not facts.

So true. We are in for some gd gaming times. I'm going to take off that whole week just to game and delve into the intricacies of my ps5.

Harsh but true.

Things can change but Sony has a really good track record. Even when they messed up with the PS3 they still sold plenty of systems.

It is so odd to see SONY fans playing up something that isn't really pro consumer. The XBOX DRM deservedly got attacked but now we love that games aren't cross platform? Yay I guess. At least in the beginning there is nothing wrong with respecting a players investment.
