Posted in the gaming section and quickly locked because people were against the looting. Why can't you all think like we tell you!

The "Defense of looting" thread is becoming a fun read again. The rich kid who his parents had to buy him a wife doubling down on the protests share no blame for ruining peoples' lives with looting and setting fire. Also still not sure why people think insurance magically replaces everything at full cost. It's never worked that way, and never will work that way.

That's not the protester's responsibility, that's the failure of companies and support from government.

Also it's "sad" when crazy people destroy other peoples' lives for no reason

The protester has no responsibility to follow the system of laws that is oppressing them.

It's sad when small businesses have financial troubles do to having to make some repairs and replace some goods, it's sad when people lose their jobs because the social safety net is broken. But after years of trying civil protest and getting nowhere, property damage and looting is the next obvious step.

What does getting nowhere mean? This year was on track to be the lowest homicide by cops in at least half a decade if not more.

What they really mean is we cant vote out Trump so its time to get violent.

But thats now the execuse for this rioting some neboulous we gonna get what we want or else we will keep destorying things.

That "Defense of Looting" thread is a disgrace. So many hypocritical keyboard warriors cheering on looting as long as it's happening far from them.

This year is going to be such a treat to spectate. We are only in May of the election year and we have already glorifying and celebrating violence, celebrating looting, and calling black people coons. It’s going to be a wild, entertaining ride

]Last night in Minneapolis, at 8:30pm, 30 minutes after curfew began, I witnessed the police, unprovoked, coming out of the gate shooting rubber bullets and using tear gas and flash grenades on peaceful protestors. The media, who are supposed to be exempt from such actions and allowed to be out after curfew, were also targeted. I witnessed colleagues being hit with rubber bullets and tear gassed. A news truck (clearly marked) with passengers was twice shot at point blank range shattering the windshield. - Scott Strebel (this is the guy who just did some of the MN Governor's family photos)

"unprovoked" "30 mins after curfew" These bastard cops were acting like these peaceful protestors were breaking the law or something!

Tyrant lol, these people really don't see the world for how it is

"My truth."

Last I checked I supported murder charges for the officers who killed George Floyd, and called for police reform. I'm in favor of peaceful protests, just not the looting and destruction, especially considering all the small businesses caught in the crossfire.

They sure are fond of inventing their own reality over there.

I mean, just about everybody across all political leanings supported action against the officers responsible for George Floyd's death. Anyone with a working pair of eyes and a bit of empathy could see that was not acceptable. It wasn't until shit got violent and the far left decided to go out with bangers like "black people have a moral right to loot and destroy the country they built!" that public sentiment completely turned and for good reason.

Guess who’s back??

Looks like our man KSweely has returned from his week long ban. You know he had to be suffering withdrawal with not being able to post these past few days with everything going on.

I was reading ResetERA protest thread and some comments are of dubious quality but I think this one takes the cake in terms of just raw politisation of the forum and people there with a bold suggestion to close the GAMING SECTION for 1-2 days to focus on protests...

NB. The guy backed down from that idea later on but I thought it was still a fun snippet.

I never understood why so many there behave like posting on Era is serious and important work for spreading progressive messaging.

Bernie losing the Democratic primary should have been demonstrative that nobody gives a shit about the opinion of random corners of the internet.

I can't bare to go into ree at the moment, reddit is a dumpster fire right now, can't imagine how bad it is in there.

AND ON THAT NOTE!

Since my work email hasn't been deactivated yet and I can still log in, I might have to sign up for a ree account to get some sagely advice off nept.
