Other news: Who thinks tensions will rise further between India and China? Will they go to war against another? Or is it just a media hyperboled type of siituation

We'll all be ten years older and complaining about the same shit.

Since the world is currently going through a controlled demolition, I'd say the Great Depression 2.0.

The US is going to collapse which is going to trigger a shitstorm of global proportions, similar to what happened in Europe as Rome fell.

Maybe not "World War 3" or "another Civil War", but I suspect the world will look very different in 2040.

Europe will be where the old world collapses.

S. America has a real shot of being where the new world emerges, especially as the USA gets more isolationist and therefore stops breathing down its neck so much.

S. America is a nest of corruption and instability. I don't see it holding any significant amount of power for large periods of time.

You're right, but those countries have suffered from corruption for artificial reasons (bad form of gov't plus foreign interventions, mostly).

S. America could continue spiraling fruitlessly, but if they get their act together, they're in their own corner of the globe with all the natural resources they need to sustain themselves.

Great Depression 2: Electric Boogaloo is the only reasonable choice out of all of those.

Unless we’re much closer to Mars than I’m aware of but I feel like it keeps getting pushed back or basically stuck in the preliminary stages.

I would hope so.
But there's an inherent cultural element in S. America which leads to bad government.
I think it has to do with good climate and abundance of resources.
People don't generally feel like working hard/smart is a necessity.
In any case, leftist movements are very strong here.

Depression/Covid/Civil War bring about the global collapse.

It's every man for himself. But whoever survives, gets to go to Mars and meet Aliens.

There is nothing really extraordinary happening at the moment.

It's just that we have more information and people whining about it.
