I just read the event is going to be 2hours so we're going to get to see a lot of games & gameplay. I agree with most of what's already been said. Personally, I'm most interested to see HZD 2 since HZD was one of my favorite games this gen.

I think we will also get to see some surprise new IPs and some exclusive smaller, unique Indie games. Whatever is shown it should be exciting.

My final predictions. All these are opinions of my own.

  • Horizon Zero Dawn 2 (Spring 2021)
  • Gran Turismo 7 (launch title)
  • Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War (launch title)
  • Demon's Souls Remake (launch title)
  • Ratchet and Clank - Insomniac (launch title
  • Crash Bandicoot - Activision (2021)

In regard to world premieres only (as in games NOT previously announced in an official capacity):
Resident Evil 8
Silent Hill
Gran Turismo
Horizon 2
Bluepoint's new game
Housemarque's new game

These are the only things I feel at least somewhat confident in. Insomniac's next game is possible, and perhaps a tease of whatever Santa Monica's doing, but I wouldn't hold my breath on those as I would for anything in the list. I do not think at all that Final Fantasy XVI will be here, but I'm open to being pleasantly surprised.

I wonder if Demon Souls remastered is real or not or if it will be "the next" Bloodborne 2; where every event people are predicting it's going to show uo and it then it never comes.

According to different things that the guy in charge of the series said, which matches with the point of the generation where they released SFIV and SFV, it won't happen until early 2023, late 2022 if very, very lucky. In early 2021 they will be still releasing Street Fighter V stuff and SFV being marketed at the Tokyo Olympic Games tournament.

I just read the event is going to be 2hours
Fake news, it won't be 2 hours long.

Sony said 'This digital showcase will run for a bit more than an hour' when announced the event:

https://blog.playstation.com/2020/06/08/updated-time-this-thursday-see-the-future-of-gaming-on-ps5/

Isn’t capcom suppose to have their own event? And that’s were RE8 is?
Capcom never had an E3 conference or similar and didn't announce any event for this summer. So if they announce something this summer (and they have one or two unannounced big games to be released this fiscal year) it will be very likely in this Sony event.

Might you be persuaded to get both consoles? 👍😁

I personally do not remember hearing or reading anywhere that Capcom is gonna have their own event. You might be thinking of EA Play which is on June 18th or Ubisoft Forward which is July 12th. I don't know of anything else in between besides the Microsoft 1st/3rd party exclusives event in July.

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
I predict we'll see this thread again at least twice before the showcase tomorrow

They can still support SF V even after they release SF VI which would be next gen only. I'm confident that it will be on the show but if it's not, then so be it. I know I'll be wrong on a few of the predictions I posted but we'll see.

Probably not. I didn't like the PS4 itself and found most of the Sony games except HZD & TLOU 1 underwhelming. I'm not saying they were bad games, they just weren't games for me. I much prefer the games Xbox makes and now with Game Pass all the new Xbox Studios especially all the new WRPG studios, I hope Sony games still aren't for me because I will have way too many games already.

All that said, I am absolutely positive Sony will show lots of great games tomorrow that their fans will love and even if they're not my kind of games, it's still going to be exciting for me to see some new great looking 1st party games running on powerful next gen hardware.

Yoshinori Ono said that "won't start working on the game until they see final PS5 games on final console hardware on the market to take note about what it's possible on the new hardware and to design the game from scratch around it".

This seems to align with SFIV being released 2 years and 3 months after PS3 release and SFV being released 2 years and 3 months after PS4 release. 2 years and 3 months after PS5 release would be February 2023. Which matches the idea o having pre-production done and spending 2 years and a half from now of development.

When asked late last year if they started to develop SFVI, he said to ask him in a year or two, that if lucky then he may to be able to say they started to work on it. Which again doesn't fit with a 2021 release.

He asked fans to "don't hold your breath" for SFVI because it won't be released anywhere soon, because SFV was only entering its 5th year, they had many stuff planned for it (he said that last year) and they wanted to support the SFV series for as long as they did with SFIV before moving to SFVI. He mentioned "8 years", which should be understood as 8 'yearly seasons', That is, 7 years which is the time between the releases of SFIV and SFV. If we add another 7 years we get again February 2023.

They won't release SFVI in 2021, period.

Not doubting what you're saying but I made a prediction. I'm not going to edit it. If im right, im right and if im wrong, im wrong.

You won't get Bethesda there. Bethesda have an incredibly close relationship with MS. You might get something from the publishing arm maybe, but not the actual studio.
