Everything looks like crap after playing TLOU2

Except Cyberpunk.
Outside of cutscenes it can look PS3 like at times so no.

Technical aspects of the game's visuals are really impressive but in terms of visual aesthetic and theme it's extremely drab. I get it's a post-apocalyptic zombie game and that contributes to it somewhat but it doesn't change the fact it isn't visually stimulating from an artistic POV to me.

The game just being thematically nihilistic from start to finish only makes that a bigger issue for me. A lot of other games might not achieve the same technical prowess of TLOU2 but in terms of visual theme/aesthetic and artistry they honestly trash the game from a massive height. Those games not being meandering nihilistic, narcissistic depressing narratives is also a massive plus 👍

Had the same feeling after god of war. Everything was crap compared but it didn't take too long to get used to crap again. Tsutshima is my next game so hopefully it compares OK.

There's so many games out there that also shine in those departments, seriously...

Camera and cinematic wise, saying Death Stranding's or Detroit's name is enough, for example.

Graphical wise, God of War is a beast on it's own.

TLoU2 may be good, I don't deny that, but please stop making it the holy grail of videogames.

I cant imagine how fun is this for a pc gamer hearing that a 30fps makes the rest look like crap.
Btw, RDR2. Please.
Rdr2 graphics are overrated and don't look nearly as good as TLOU2; however, this OP is high as fuck. TLOU2 doesn't compare to the absolute beauty of GoW or even Horizon.

The best part was, by far, downtown semi open Seattle. They completely
dropped the fucking ball and never continued with that level design
. One more thing to add to TLOU2's inconsistencies

I played RDR2 on my Xbox One X. That thing is untouchable (and yes, I have tried TLOU2, which looks amazing as well). But RDR2 on the X is better IMO. But who knows, maybe someone very obtuse can argue that.
Now, couple of weeks ago I played RDR2 on a megapowerful PC. Jesus fucking christ, that thing looks orders of magnitude better than any current console game. Its a different category.

Seriously.😐 in every aspect. Graphics. Animation. Emotion. Design. Cinnematics. Camera work. Nothing can't touch it. I'm a super graphics whore, so it probably matters more to me than others.

It must be sad to be held back by outdated hardware.

Mind you, even on PS4 there are games that look better in almost every way, like the FFVII remake mentioned by Danjin44 Danjin44

Overall RDR2 is definitely more aesthetically pleasing game since it varies so much more, but I wouldn't compare TOLU2's most stunning scenes with anything in RDR2 as well as character models, textures or lighting. Photomode up close character models in TLOU2 are phenomenal.

Ugly hoes.

There is a more attractive character design that I personally like.

What kinda emotion can they convey though that is
Hope OP have not played God of War.

TlOU 2 looks great but there are games with similar graphics like RDR2
What more emotion can they covey other than what is show in these pics? maybe a hmm:messenger_pensive: TLOU2 feels like you're playing as real people going through some stuff. This looks like "I'm a character model". looks stiff af!

Good art style is all it takes for me to enjoy a game.

BOTW
Luigis Mansion 3
God of War
Elite Dangerous
Hell, even Modern Warfare

I like playing a gorgeous game as much as the next person but considering RDR2 is fucking jaw-dropping in the graphics department and I couldnt bring myself to play past 5 hrs... Looks arent everything.

I dunno, I think TLOU2 is stunning, but I think that RDR2 on PC running at 60+fps easily gives it a run for it's money and the scale isn't even comparable. I would still give the slight edge to TLOU2 but when you compare the scale and content, RDR2 takes it. Both are stunning. TLOU2 is gonna look incredible once it can get over that garbage ass 30fps cap.

This game is a beauty for sure but you don't have to put down other games to point that out which is part of why this thread is getting some negative responses.

TLOU2 is beautiful. Technically its great and its right up there with the best on console visually.

There are others on the same level though and we know what those are so no need to name them.

The PS4, PS4PRO, and even the X1X has been pushed as far as they can go. Its all personal preference of artstyle at this point.

Bring on next gen.
