Everything looks like crap after playing TLOU2

Seriously.😐 in every aspect. Graphics. Animation. Emotion. Design. Cinnematics. Camera work. Nothing can't touch it. I'm a super graphics whore, so it probably matters more to me than others.

Yeah I agree with you. My neighbors wife is made out of low quality textures especially her breasts.

Don't get me started on the rest of the earth. It's like God doesn't know what anti ailising is. Or how to remove bugs.

i beat it twice now and i don't wanna play anything else because everything feels a bit clunky and ugly by comparison. also playing a third time feels like too much. i just wish factions was available already.

I bought a sex doll, but I keep it inflated 100% of the time and use it like a regular wife
I can't see that much of the detail when I move the camera. Must be because of that mediocre frame rate.
It has a LOT of motion blur. You can turn it down, but somehow that made it worse for me. Maybe because of the framerate?

Um I have a PC that can easily do 1440p and often 4k. What PC games blow TLOU2 out of the water?

The tried and true I have a high end PC and the games don't look nearly as good as PS4. Meanwhile haven't said anything about what games you've played with what mods and what actual hardware you have.
I've never bothered playing PC felt it was way too nerdy for my taste.. Having to update pieces of a computer seems like something a bottom feeder would be into... LOL could you imagine wanting to play a game a having to boot up a stupid computer..lol so dumb

You must be the pinnacle of coolness with your little shitbox console

Oh you're one of those PC elitist fanboy types eh? Super fucking annoying.

Yeah I didn't say nothing comes close to how PS4 games look bud, learn to read. I asked for the PC master race to tell ME what these MIND BLOWING PC games are that shame stuff on the consoles. Exclusives would be appreciated.

"Little shitbox console"? Are you fuckin' for real? Grow up.

Please tell me all the incredible exclusive PC games that blow TLOU2 out of the water. All the best looking PC games are probably ports of games on consoles lol. Or something modded up the ass on a system that costs at least $1000, but more than likely in the realm of $2000 or more.

I swear PC fanboys are the most insufferable gamers.

PC and consoles are both good and have their strengths and weaknesses. Fuck fanboys of either.

This is kind of like what Half Life Alyx did to me for VR games. Everything I play in VR now is like having that feeling where your hungry, but what you brought for lunch isn’t doing it for you.

When nearly all AAA games are made at such high fidelity, what sets ND apart is really artists and animators. Visionaries. Is TLOU more technically advanced than say, Resident Evil 2, Gears 5, etc? Maybe someone can answer that, but my guess is no. Why it's on another level, much like RDR 2, is the talent behind it: people who have an eye for detail, an eye for everything that matters visually, beyond their peers. The stuff of art/design schools. Stuff Digital Foundry isn't qualified to speak about.

No matter how high you crank your PC settings if your game isn't made by the cream of the industry crop, it'll never match up. Exorbitant amounts of time and money are spend on art in AAA games. This is just how it is.

I’ve heard Druckmann talk about how they hired a cinematographer for TLOUII which not every game director considers hiring. But the difference is clear. That’s why ND’s use of light and color pops better visually than a game like Fallout or some shit. It’s not all about pixel fidelity.

How do you think it compares to rdr2? I was just playing rdr2 and am fascinated by how real the world feels. I don’t think I’ve seen weather effects this immersive before.

Many questioned that gameplay footage earlier, then turned out with better graphics above that and it was 100% gameplay not staged sequel of action!

TLOU2 with only native 4K instead of 1440p and RT on PS5 will still make any game outside PS Studios look outdated. PS Studios keep competing with themselves only.

I was completely questioning it even after I was already well into the game! I was sure it was fake after seeing early parts of the game lol!

Yeah it's crazy. The game has a crazy cinematic quality to it.

Some parts I can't even tell WHEN they're scripted or not!

That's the magic of PS Studios, I just can't wrap my head around GOW showing no loading screens if not teleporting or after death! And that's with an HDD!

Imagine how fluid games will be with the PS5 perks!

lmao what? besides cutscenes the graphics are good cause of the linearity and small level design, but its not even a good looking game, after seeing ps5 in action, shit looks like ps3 at some points. i really dont get it how people think it can look so good.

I have this problem animation wise every time i play a new ND game. Almost, no every, but almost every other game feels stiff as shit after a ND game. The industry takes a couple of years to catch up.
This time might be faster tho, UE5 seem to be doing a lot of what ND was doing in U4 easier, not everything, but it seems that we might actually see more devs animating properly their characters next gen.

Did you play Boneworks? it's kinda alright and it's even more physics based than Alyx if you are looking for that.
Try half life Alyx in vr with max settings
To be fair, Alyx looks almost the same with medium, high or ultra. You have to do some serious pixel counting to spot the differences.
I though the settings were bogus on my PC and even searched for video comparisons and it was not my PC, it's just the way the game it's made.

Gonna prescribe the same pair of Sony vision glasses that you have that makes every PS game automatically look the best? :messenger_grinning_smiling:

Nah, man, just point me to the game and I'll fetch you the screenshots that makes it clear for you, even on a 1080p screen or a phone by zooming in.

Maybe video compression doesn't do it justice because I'm getting my copy today, but daylight in this game is flat out ugly, as if shadows are literally nonexistent. This game only really gets any sort of significant graphical detail at night time.

The downgrade is real, how they can still have "deadeye" characters so beyond me...

I have no idea why, maybe they took it as a challenge, but this game has long sections of overcast and some dusk ToD, there it's no harder lighting to fake. They look pretty alright, but since this are challenging not golden hour type of light conditions, they tend to have really flat parts sometimes.

Either way the graphics in it are very insane

and on the boneworks note - that reaaally didn’t scratch the itch for me - I know it’s more hardcore but the way they simulated weight was imo not fun

also not to take away from the last of us - second best looking game I’ve played - it’s not that small of environments either I don’t get that criticism they’re pretty big. Only other console game I think is close to that level is God of War.

The film grade is to hide the 1440p resolution and to give it a certain look according to DF
People really hating on the film grain - I didn’t notice it at all. Wasn’t bothered by it. My only real “graphical” issue with the game was that so many things you just couldn’t interact with - like I thought maybe with this one they would put more physics in. Although the damage specific to where you shoot someone is awesome.

While sitting 5 feet away from a 55" screen and wearing my glasses, I don't notice the film grain. I have to move closer to notice it.

Film grains are very noticeable. They add more atmospheric look making it less gamy looking and mask the 1440p resolution. You can even notice them on screenshots.

Pretty minor but visible. I like it personally for such games. RDR2 has it as well and even worse makes things blurry. With clear screenshots from PC version the graphics look rough.

I guess Blu Rays look like DVDs at that range also.

Name is ironic.
No, I can actually tell the difference between 4K Blu-ray discs that are natively 4K and those that are upscaled from 2K/ 1080p, and DVD quality sticks out like a sore thumb. Movies are different from video games.

The film grain is too fine to notice from 5 feet away; the granules are very small. In movies that are shot on film, though, I can notice film grain on my 55" TV from 5 feet away; the granules are typically larger and they're never the same from frame to frame, which creates a visual effect by which it appears to "flicker" and is therefore obvious to the eye.

i thought there a lot more physcs object than before tho, even items, like bullets or gun poweder and the likes react to movements for no real reason.
I have a guard knock some bullets from a table not long ago while playing. This it's sure no red faction, but there it's a lot of things to break.

Film grain it's really noticable in movies shot on film that are not imax or some ludicrous shit like that. I don't mind it really just as i don't mind the film grain in TLoU.
I have to say tho, i have no idea why this is the case, but TLoU2 when HDR it's disabled, the film grains looks waaaay more blantant. I tried playing a little without HDR and i was shocked by how much film grain i was looking compared to the previous mode.

Yes, IMAX film is 65mm wide and is made with smaller grains than 35mm film, which is the most commonly used gauge of film. The grain of movies that are shot on 35mm film is always noticeable to me.

Art direction > graphics

Yeah it looks great, yeah it has good art direction, but it is still 100% limited by it's setting, reality. Even if it's a fictional post apocalyptic story, it's grounded on the real world.
Cyberpunk looks better, god of war looks better, at least to me.
