Maybe I am reading your comment wrong? because when you said "The only way MS is tooting their 120fps horn is because of their BC catalogue. #thereisnospoon" I simply picked Dirt because it had the option of running at 120FPS and was not a BC game.
I stand corrected. My true meaning was that MS' claims of 120fps would only be some select last-gen games and their BC games.
But by all means, show me that performance delta. I'm certainly not too high on myself to admit it if I'm wrong.

It looked really soft and fuzzy so I'm not sure if this is a win for DLSS or not. Some things in the footage looked really nice and other things looked kinda crappy.

It was interesting in the Digital Foundry video when they'd compare it to Witcher 3 footage to show how much "better" this game looks. It's true that the complexity of the world, textures, and most things are better. That's undeniable. But that silky smooth framerate and native resolution of Witcher 3 footage was a jarring transition when going back to the 30fps blurfest.

People are way too hung up on guesstimated performance based on a WIP beta build with experimental graphical settings from a game that's months from release.

Just chill and wait for real info, it will be fine.

DLSS 2.0 is the real deal, if I was MS and Sony I wouldn’t think about native 4K and push a similar technology instead.

Better than DLSS exists, we have seen it already at 1440p to 4K, nobody could measure it or know. DF gave up.

Looks like high quality Temporal is equally as good at upscaling. As this is UE third party engine, that means everyone will have access to how UE do this. EVERYONE.

All systems will use upscaling (DLSS / Temporal I am sure there are many names for the different methods and its all PR) to get more effects and use 1440p or around there to get to 4k.

Good upscaling is not exclusive to Nvidia, no matter how often they mention DLSS.

Who told you it was better then DLSS?

Who told you it was better then DLSS?

Nobody could tell the native resolution was, nobody could pixel count, we had to be told the resolution.

DF gave up (quotes on era and b3d)

What does that tell you ?

Better is subjective anyway, I was responding to a poster who was inferring DLSS is magically superior so Sony and MS need to do something, which is untrue.

Will the base Cyberpunk version that runs on PS5 and XSX have any improvements at all? Like higher FPS or resolution? Or just a straight strict backwards compatible mode?

If they could get any advantages for new systems at launch it would accelerate new console sales.

Not talking about the specific next gen version they will be working on.

Also tells me nothing

I was responding the the DLSS / MS and Sony commment which was my reply.

If you think there is no narrative here I dont know what to say. How many times do you read

Its 4k on PC with DLSS (upscaled from 1440p is small print). At least this thread title is more honest for a change.

Its 1440p on console upscaled to 4K.

Whatever....

I never thought I would see the day when a $1200 card is boasted using a base 540p resolution by Nvidia. War has changed. Try mentioning 540p and a GTX 970 back in the day. But now it's a fine resolution for a 2080ti and to think that all the raytracing effects are not enabled.....Sounds to me that Nvidia will have a $3000 to sell you soon that makes the RTX 2080ti RT performance similar to a current gen 750ti........Good way to show RT sucks on current Turing, so you could plop more money towards the much superior Ampere....

So they were playing a largely unoptimized build more than 6 months before the delayed release date and it actually ran pretty okay.

I mean I don't get what your agenda is here, do you think it would run better on AMD with all the eye candy turned off or something? How does this fit into your AMD lifestyle?

But you are a console cheerleader, with no intention in the PC gaming scene... So it seems odd to take a shot there, when your console of choice won't even look as good or run anywhere as well. No amount of money will change that either.

i don't think so but i'm no expert.

but, tbh if you can buy an rtx card you probably have a decent cpu too.

DLSS just uses the image buffer of the current frame and motion vectors between the previous frame and current frame to upscale the image. All of this can be done on the GPU. This is all public info so no NDAs were broken. :p

EDIT: It also uses the previous 4K image output.
