Yeah I got respect for Henderson, even as a United fan. I’ll be sad if Gomes does end up leaving. It’s a pity because the style of football United are playing just now could suit him well. Really talented young player. His size was always going to be an issue but he’s so good on the ball that I hoped to see him break into the first team. Maybe something can be salvaged at the last minute. But the other issue is Mejbri is now on the rise and seems to be even more highly regarded than Gomes. So that may also impact his minutes in the future.

No one really dislikes him afaik (apart from his dives early on and injuries, which were rampant) and no one takes him responsible for that miss. Casillas was just lucky that his toe denied a goal. We reached the WC 2010 final with a rather average squad. In holland lives the sentiment he was the best player of WC 2014.

He was one of the top players at his best for sure and did play at the top level for long so his name will be remembered for long. I wish him good luck with his new adventure to help the club. Maybe he will join the staff afterward and become a couch too.
