I think it's pretty professional, maybe you didn't read about it. Most casuals like us won't be able to enjoy it. I'm more than sure it'll be used by flight academies/colleges more than usual gamers.

And about google, sorry it's actually Bing Maps, the google competitor map alternative:

It's wonderful, or let's say mind-blowing. But I can't see casuals playing it? There is another extreme jet fighter game that you spend like 1-2 hours to reach location and can after that get hit with one bullet and you lose all that shit. You might have a headache from this 12 minutes alone that's extremely overwhelming:

Those games are extremely hard and have limited audience. It's not a massive console seller, if it's meant to be released on xbox consoles to begin with.

Wow, that looks so incredible every time I see things on it. That's really a great thing for people who are super technical or are professional pilots! I used to know all the operational procedures for the space shuttle for take off, orbital maneuvers and landing. There were books and documents you could get for that as well. I would have LOVED to have something like this to use that knowledge with, so I can totally get the appeal of this both for pilots or for just average people who want the challenge of learning to operate these planes for real and then realistically fly them. Adding the 'game' simulated missions and such is just fantastic as well as it lets people put that knowledge and skill to the test.

So honestly, I hope this is hugely successful and that it drives more realistic simulators in other areas. Imaging having this but being able to pilot a Space X launch or something like that? Cool stuff!

Guys I switched my TV on and started to play COD WWll and & the screen looks like this, any idea??

It’s a specific issue with COD WW2’s engine. I have the same problem on my TCL 6 series and there are too many squares for it to be the local dimming.

I thought he meant the hardware advantages over the PS5 would show? Maybe I interpreted that incorrectly

The only advantage so far the XSX gpu has over the PS5 one is raytracing. Does it matter, if the XSX can display 10giga rays and the PS5 "just" 8? What´s better?

A gpu 500mhz slower, but having 20% more giga rays?
or
A gpu 500mhz faster, but having 20% less giga rays?

PS5:
4 x 2.23 GHz ~ 8.92 Billion triangles per second

XSX:
4 x 1.825 GHz - 7.3 Billion triangles per second

Well well well, Phil Spencer a couple of days ago said that the differences between PS5 & XSX are so small even in resolution to the point he went on to hype up what they'll show in their July event in terms of their exclusives and what THEY think is special, rather than the power advantage, which is almost nonexistent as he put it.

That tells many guys on here and the gaming community that the differences between 10.3 TF (maybe more efficient because it is running at a higher clock frequency) VS 12 TF is so small that especially now with all those up-scaling techniques & all those "defying pixel-counting" as Digital Foundry have put it these days with the Unreal 5 demo running on PS5, that tells you something. 👀👀👀👀👀

He didn't quite say that, rather he warned people to keep their expectations in check regarding the generational jump. That's quite a bit different.

Yup, I read that as we have a lot of cross gen games to show, will look better on XSX, but not much different to a PC running a current game today.

IF MS have allot of cross gen stuff to show, the presentation and narrative will be all about frame rates.

I noticed phil was also talking about game feel already in another interview, so that suggests its cross gen games mainly.

I hope there is a few XSX only games. I want Jaguar games to die.

Dirt 5? Or you think the developers themselves are also lying?

They are not lying.
But been able to have Dirt 5 Xbox one version running on XSX at 120fps is not difficult.
Would liek to see a dirt 5 next gen version running at 120fps by the way.

Is there any actual proof that any nextgen games are running on actual consoles? Like, did we see an actual PS5 running a game?

Yep proof are on video from the event should take glasses if you have or time to go to ophthalmology.
And from may event of MS all video were with a disclaimer taht it was the gameplay footage "expected " that's the difference between Sony event and MS event. One (Sony) shown real gameplay or from the console graphism other (MS) shown game not running on XSX

I hope we see games soon that aren't possible in this gen. I know we saw some already, but I mean games that will be obviously only playable on next gen. For example a game with big crowds. It is too early to show a Days Gone sequel stuff but imagine the Hordes :O with cloth physics, soft body physics etc. Some game that makes me go " Oh shit I need to hop on next-gen right fucking now!"

We could have used forced clocks, we could have used variable clock rates: the reality is that it makes it harder for developers to optimize their games even though it would have allowed us to boast higher TFLOPS than we already had, for example. But you know, that's not the important thing. The important thing is the gaming experiences that developers can build.

The Microsoft executive also suggested that the mere I/O speed of the Xbox Series X (which is inferior to that of the PlayStation 5, according to the official specifications) doesn't tell the full story.
Things go beyond the numbers that we may or may not share. Sampler Feedback Streaming (SMS) allows us to load textures and makes the SSD drive act as a multiplier of physical memory that adds to the memory that the machine itself has.We also have a new API called Direct Storage that gives us low-level direct access to the NVMe controller so that we can be much more efficient in managing those I / O operations.

Cerny didn’t say the power never varies.
...
Well I'm not sure where I'm going wrong, because I went back to the GDC video and he says "effectively constant power" and describes them providing more than enough power, then ramping up clocks on the CPU and GPU to the limit of the cooling solution - presummably using typical workloads, rather than maximums- and then taking that power draw as the maximum, meaning workload that would exceed that power draw gets downclocked to maintain constant power draw, and obviously stay within the limits of the quiet cooling solution.

What a surprise.

Heh.... been spreading low key FUD on the PS5 price. Telegraphed that in the PS5 reveal coverage and followed up with a proper article/video. "Storing bad news"... as if he wasn't smart enough to understand what everyone else can rationalize. That Sony are playing price chicken with MS to avoid getting undercut value wise, and to avoid being unable to adjust. He's well aware of the position this puts Microsoft in July. MS been putting info on the console since 2019, including a hardware reveal. Not a peep about price. I'm amused by his game.

They are bad because MS engineer says their version is better - does not have ps5 dev kit.

Cerny says ps5 version is good, Epic and tim sweeny says ps5 is great, both have ps5 dev kits.

Whatever.

MS engineer sweating about ps5 ?

I dont hear Sony engineers trying to FUD xbox.
This is exactly what I don't like in MS PR.

MS always says "PlayStation is not our competitor" but every time someone from MS talks something related to PlayStation. Go to Aaron Twitter, and you see how much he tries to downplay the PS5, Spencer saying about XSX to downplay something in PS5 and now this MS engineer.
MS PR is basically talks on "most powerful console guys", " PS5 is not so good look to the most powerful console".
I don't mind in the talk "The most powerful console" but in the direct downplay by them.

But we never see any of Sony engineers or even Mark Cerny saying "look at how slow is XSX SSD" or "We build a strong system to remove bottlenecks, I don't think they (xbox) have done this".

Sony is who acting like MS does not exist, not MS with Sony.

But we have already shutdown the misleadings about PS5 in this thread, and even about the clocks what MS Engineer said.

Sony doesn't do a PR, they have devs talking about the Ps5 and even Epic.

MS have to know talk in console is about games, the other things is more PC or they showing for us what "the most powerful console can do and the less 2TF console can't" (Something that I really don't belive that exists).

What does the PS3 have to do with the PS5 supporting 120FPS?
Nothing, I never said anything about PS5. Someone said that Spencer lies, and I said that if Spencer says XSX will have games that support 120fps that will be at least true in his case. It was a joke referring back to the PS3 Era when Sony was boasting about the power of the PS3 and that games would be able to run at 120fps.

I almost forgot about that since it was such a long time ago. However the PS5 also promises to support 120FPs which I don't doubt will happen with some games. We will just have to wait and see what those games will be like on the system.

Yeah I think so too. There is no reason for XSX to support this but not the PS5. Very similar CPU's and just drop the resolution a bit on GPU to make it happen

I was merely making a reference to the PS5s HDMI port. It can definitely output 120FPs so I dont see why some games won't run at that framerate.

Just a little prediction but I think Dirt will run at 120FPs on the PS5. The developers haven't confirmed that yet because they are not allowed to talk about the PS5 version due to the marketing deal that they have.

Those things can be true.
But the likelihood is, be it through 1:1 feature parity or through analogous technologies, the PS5 also has those capabilities. And it has double the raw speed.
This really should not be up for debate.

Funny, the article title says they don't care about TFLOPS numbers, but who came bragging about 12TF when XSX's first specs reveal happened?

It's curious Sony never talks a damn bit about XSX, but MS seems to be always reacting to every info about PS5.

Back in May MS said it would be a "showcase" every month. At that time they were confident...

June has come and (almost) gone and now maybe not even "early July". Something has changed or MS marketing is totally detached from the what the actual production side is doing.

Thy saw Sony's presentation and are trying to react accordingly. Thyve been doing tht this whole next Gen talk. Thy just don't have the firepower for it right now though or the caliber of studios. I bet thy scrapped all the monthlys to try to do a big blowout tht matches or at least comes close to what Sony showed
