I did. And I made my own opinion in the thread. According to the rules, there is nothing wrong with that. People shouldn't feel like they only have 2 options this generation. There is a much better alternative 3rd and I'm promoting that option for the listeners.
In the context of this thread, that is nonsense. Who exactly is committing to support "your PC" hardware - whatever it is at console launch - with fully compatible AAA software, guaranteed to run (because it has been QA'd for 1000's of hours) and software that will push that hardware to its limits for 5-7years?
Obviously it is a rhetorical question, because the answer is no one. Anyone remembering the graphics card they had when the Doom 3 Alpha demo leaked knows only too well that just running cutting edge (AA) games in the PC space can result in an entirely new PC being required, because the PC being open also means no one owes anyone anything, from a dev perspective.
The IO system in the PS5 - and most likely the XsX too - are going to see a lot of those PC casualties in the next 2 years, even for those niche people running a PC with higher specs than an Pro or X1X at present.
