I'm well aware of how streaming works. You may look at it like he is doing nothing, others look at it like he is sharing and interacting with the community. Which a lot of people are interested in and appreciate.

He does provide something to his pack of rabid fans, as we see in this thread, but giving a millionaire donations is very sad, I agree with that. Hell his entire persona is MONEY MONEY MONEY when he arrived in "his" expensive Porche at an event. Some poor person that donated $20 to him asked to accept his friend request and he was complete asshole about it, talking about how famous he is and how he plays with celebrities now, as in "I don't play with plebs".

Watching him complain about people kill him is really pathetic, but as people said that's his brand.

So his persona is "money money money"? And? Are you being an asshole for playing into the persona? Are you expecting donations to be done OOC? Are you expecting him to accept friend requests on donations? I really don't get what you're expecting from him. Are you saying that his persona is his actual self or? I'm not totally getting it.

Likewise, I’m sure Evilore is way better off financially than me, but there are costs that come with NeoGAF and I get enough entertainment value from it (usually) to justify paying for NeoGAF Gold.

As for the normal job, I am doing alright as an engineer. It's not about envy... it's just weird that people donate so much. This is a free show, he earns money just from streaming. You are just wasting money by donating to him at this point.
I am not butthurt really. Why would I be? I already said he is putting on a show but it's a shallow tough persona which is especially surprising how it gravitates to so many people. But he is energetic and that can be fun. I am more of a lobos or other smaller skill streamers viewer

Streamers are the best we can have to actually watch games we might be interested in buying.
Youtubers create useful guides and tips on any kind of arguments.

I might agree with you on esports, personally I have never found them interesting and I can hardly find anything positive about them. But if thousands of people enjoy them then they have a reason to exist.

Lol. Even though I know the intent behind this post I'll respond because I'm bored out of my mind.

I pay for entertainment. I could (well previously could) go to a movie theatre and pay $12-20 to watch a 1.5-3 hour movie without snacks/drinks. I can easily get twice that amount of entertainment in a single day by watching one of my favorite streamers. I have 4 main streamers that I watch (Gab Smolders/Dougisraw/Viss/Doc) and even if I subbed to all of them I still get way more entertainment then I can get for $20 elsewhere. Hell I pay $12 or whatever for Netflix and barely ever use it so the $10-15 I spend on subs outside of my Twitch Prime isn't bad. When I'm bored I pull up a stream instead of watch TV.

Exactly. At this point none of my subbed streamers are exactly small but I started watching all of them outside of Doc when they were smaller.

Sounds dumb but it’s nice to see Viss/Doug/Gab see success. I actually started watching Doug because Doc played with him once. He started blowing up shortly after that.
