I remember all the constant delays and bullshots Ocean showed before this game finally released. I was so pumped for it. I thought it looked amazing. Then the game released and was basically a kick in the balls.

I always liked this game. I beat it again about a month ago and I enjoyed it. Yea its janky and sort of crappy but it has a certain charm.

One thing Ive noticed after all these years for someone who has played as much as him, he completely sucks at everything. When he plays with Mike Matei its almost excruciating to watch at times.

Jesus this game. The game I had in my head vs. what it ended up being, my god.

The hype though, post-Goldeneye, this was going to be Goldeneye 2.0. Forget the fact it's nothing like Goldeneye, that was the hype my young mind had.

I was disappointed, but I'll always remember the game I pictured this was going to be.

Yeah, i wasn't impressed by this game back in the day. Very janky and ugly. Though, the Embassy mission looked and played great. And i liked the stealth walk animation.

I liked this game, warts and all.

It does. I feel like it had lots of big, bold ideas, but it just didn't really know how to do them justice. But watching the game try is endearing nonetheless. And it was fun enough on its own terms.

somethings changed though in his videos lately or i changed , not sure ,but that was not asfunny as older series.

The quality has gone down for sure. From what I understand, James isn't very involved with the writing or even playing the games anymore.

I remember getting this game for christmas. It was the worst christmas gift I think I have ever received. Game was total trash.

Lately? His first few seasons are gold mine, I watch them religiously - in these older videos you really could see he was annoyed as fuck while playing, he came off very natural - nowadays those new series are mostly meh with such a forced acting it's kinda hard to watch.

I bought a sex doll, but I keep it inflated 100% of the time and use it like a regular wife

Your are not alone, he sure has lost some of his touch lately.

James doesn't write them anymore and hasn't so for the past 2-3 years he just reads what the Screenwave guys (from those Rental Reviews videos) give him and their writing is pretty terrible.

The train theme makes the slog of the game of getting to the train entirely worth it. But yeah, there were some great ideas in this game (embassy, sniper level and others), and maybe with a better team it would've been a slam dunk. But there was just too much jank (poison gas, having to line up headshots with the c buttons I believe?) and having to rely on the internet (in its primitive state) to get through this game.

i remember liking the game for w/e reason

slim pickings around that time for n64 renters, hard to tell what was good without trial and error

EverydayBeast

thinks Halo Infinite is a new graphical benchmark
MI movies are good we know that that was when movie video games had momentum if there were a John Wick game today 100% it would be legit

this thread reminds me, what was the name of that third person shooter game on 64 from koei

i'm reasonably certain it set the stage for games like metal gear, re4

got it for christmas in 1999ish and fugging loved it

Not playing the games. What?

The footage you see isn't James playing the game. There are signs now and again, like the Chex Quest episode that had the "Kierens PC" folder, and in the Kingdom Hearts AVGN he admits he didn't even play the games. I don't really care what he does to make a buck, but his heart isn't into it the same way as when he actually played the game. I think the last one he was really involved with was the Earthbound episode, but there may have been more after that.

Like others have said the disconnect between early screen shots of this game and what was delivered is huge. It's crazy I don't remember it being a big deal at the time, and now we lose our mind over puddle differences.

Anyway I think this game gets a bad wrap. For all it's faults I definitely had a good time with it as a kid. It tried a lot of new things I hadn't seen before, but there's no denying the amount of jank.
