According to this hands-on:

The optimizing process hasn't even begun. Apparently he games currently utilizes the 9900K in 80-90%, all 16 threads. Not to mention running in 1080p due to all the heavy RT effects.

It's also worth mentioning that the person playing also had the pleasure to play The Witcher 3 before release in 2015 and he found Cyberpunk less impressive graphically than The Witcher for the time.

The more I see of this game, the more I feel the best way to play it will be 5 years down in the line on a PC with a shit ton of mods giving me third person, combat fixes, and kinks ironed out, just like Bethesda games.

True. Although I strongly disagree with that part, TWC3 with it's completely flat textures looked already a bit dated when it's launched to me, not to mention that infamous downgrade it received, while CP2077 with it's heavy emphasis on RT look fucking phenomenal, I just hope CDPR doesn't hold back and indeed releases the game with such fidelity, so even if today's GPUs can barely handle it we will be able to experience the game from the trailers in the upcoming years once better hardware appears.

Very true, but I guess that this individual played the game in its pre-downgrade state. Only recently thanks to modding community, W3 reached those E3 pre-downgrade visuals. Without a doubt CP2077 will be equally moddable so that's another reason to be excited!

Ive mentioned this afew times. 2077 isn't going to be as good as screenshots or canned shot's make it out to be.

Ive seen it done too many times to tons of games, to not notice the signs. CDPR is selling a game, let's not forget. Remember the Witcher trailer and what we got afterwards...

Im sure the kids in the streaming chat will keep spamming "Resident Sleeper" emote and call for more action gameplay, they are annoying as hell so i think i will disable them this time, even if they can be funny.
The night wire episodes are about the game and its staff not only gameplay so im looking forward for it to see what they have in store for us. The first episode was enjoyable, i understand the urge to see more gameplay but they have already shown more than most developers would show you, and its also nice to not be spoiled by watching too much, i also like those extra clips like the anime one, cool stuff.

I am fairly convinced the last delay was just to get the base Xbone and PS4 versions better optimized. I think, as with Control, they're going to be struggling to get a really optimal experience.

The game itself I think is already "done" at this point.

If it wasn't for the controller I would consider PS5 myself. But I am terrible at fps with controllers, so I'll be investing in my pc... As originally planned. I wonder if we have more options gpu wise around the release.

I'm not gonna lie. The game looks very bad in the long gameplay trailer they released a couple of months ago. I was actually hoping for another delay.

I'm hoping in a new delay 'cause I don't want to build a new PC.

Hope it gets delayed for years.

Tons of new details about the game revealed in Russian Q/A. It's in English, just the questions are in Russian, translated below courtesy of /u/Server16Ark on reddit

00:00 - Intro
00:33 - Are there Russian speaking characters or people related to Russian culture?
01:12 - Will it be possible to do mundane tasks, like eating or taking showers, without quests attached to them?
02:04 - How densely is Night City populated? Will the density depend on time of day and/or the story?
02:47 - Can you have sidekicks other than Jackie? How many potential sidekicks are in game?
03:42 - Can you side with any of the gangs?
04:39 - Can you side with any of the corporations?
05:12 - Can you play as a "bad guy"?
05:58 - Can you play as a "good guy" and not kill/rob anyone?
06:47 - Can we drink alcohol, for example, in bar?
07:29 - Will CP77 resemble the Witcher 3 in player's choices and consequences?
8:59 - Can our character become a cyborg?
09:55 - How can we change V's appearance throughout the game?
11:21 - Will it be possible to redistribute skill points/attributes?
12:05 - Weather! Will it change and how? What weather we can expect? Something like acid rains?
12:36 - What transportation we will be able to use in CP77?
13:24 - Will we see any utility vehicles?
13:46 - What other types of income will V have in game, other than contracts?
14:59 - Will there be people of other ethnicities and nationalities who speak their native language?
15:39 - Can NPCs respond hostilely to the player?
16:26 - How does the game treat player death and mission failures?
17:11 - There were a lot of mysterious quests and locations in the Witcher 3. Will something like that be in CP2077? What about horror?
18:14 - Is the story linear?
19:16 - Will there be a multiplayer and when?
19:34 - Is CP2077 a first person shooter or a role playing game at its core?
20:18 - Can you burn down the city?
21:22 - Outro

I definitely expected more on the recommended side

Yeah almost sounds too good to be true, but tbh, CDPR is good at optimizing their engine, besides, they even hired QLOC to optimize the game even further. Just keep in mind - these specs are for 1080p60 high, I'm sure. No RT, no GameWorks, no 4K ultra details.

I'm not sure if it has been said, but the campaign will be shorter than The Witcher 3, one of the quest designers said it in the post event of Night City Wire today.

Two of the main reasons were:
- Complaints received from the game being too long.

- Metrics, huge % of the player base didn't finish the game.

I‘m trying to be excited for this game as I adore The Witcher... but there’s something that ‘s just not clicking with me. I think it’s because there’s nothing here about the storyline that‘s grabbed me. It all feels a bit pedestrian so far. Maybe it’s the fact you don’t play as defined character 🤷🏻‍♂️ Glad lots of you are hyped for it, but with all the delays, and the footage that’s come out, my interests gets less and less.

So when the dust settles, down the line, which generation will we think of this game as a part of?

Exactly in the same spot as you. I don't why im not into it, I'm telling myself it's because I probably am not into the genre. I have played fps games, but for sp I enjoy tps. It's probably that too.

Witcher 3 had such an amazing universe and characters I already was familiar with. And I love medieval fantasy genre.

I'm sure the game will rock. But I just don't get any excitement for it.

Anyone else looking to pick up the PS4 version to play on the PS5? I can’t wait for the PS5 version, so I gotta play it when it first comes out.

feel exactly opposite to this, reaallllly couldn't get into the Witcher's universe for some reason. I'm hoping this is a bit different than that game - it's practically unplayable for me.

I was looking at images from the game here and noticed that there are child NPCs in the game. Apart from a few instances in Red Dead Redemption 2, I can't think of any games that have child NPCs, so this is novel and interesting. I wonder if you can hurt them.

EDIT:

Nope, you won't be able to hurt children in the game. Source.

I am wondering about the tone of the game. There were some places in the trailer where you could see some sights and situations fitting a distopian city, but overall it was rather... Happy? I don't mean the rain or sunlight is the reason, ultimately that is not what will set the tone of the game... But I was a little surprised how everything felt in the trailer.

Regardless, how impressive is this city? I don't think they are getting enough credit for that at the moment. It doesnt look like anything I have seen in any game.

Any creature will acclimate to any condition in which they can survive and adjust its thresholds for happiness and other emotions accordingly.
