Today, we’re excited to announce the next step in this journey. We are teaming up with Electronic Arts to provide Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC members with an EA Play membership at no additional cost starting this holiday. This means Ultimate members can enjoy EA Play on Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S, and Windows 10 PCs, and Xbox Game Pass for PC members get EA Play on Windows 10.

Fair enough. But havent those games even been criticized by their core audience? Wasnt the latest Madden the lowest user scored game in history on Metacritic?

Wow. I mean I wanted to check out Anthem again, but the thought of paying actual cash for it was...eh. I would assume the new Dragon Age and such will make their way onto the service, too.

Edit: I didn’t see a ”start date” anywhere in the newswire release. Is this a ‘holiday’ 2020 thing?

Not sure the 3rd party games on that list for PC will be included.

For example with EA Play on Steam you only get access to EA's own titles and the 3rd party games are omitted.

For access to the third party games you actually need to subscribe directly via EA origin.

If MS does right by its fans and continues the value and momentum in years to come i will honestly never unsubscribe from GPU. This and a handful of streaming video apps are all my family needs for entertainment at a very reasonable price for what we used to pay for cable TV. Insane world we're living in right now. And lucky for MS i still buy all the games I want to own as well (I have around 500 between 360 and XBO split near 50/50)

They’re just following the Netflix forumla of gobbling up any and all available digital content then sorting out quality later. You remember some of Netflix’s original programming (Hemlock Grove lol)? Now they make some of the best shows in the industry. I think MS has a winning strategy, even if it’s not one that resonates with most of the enthusiasts here.

EA PLAY PRO is the better part of the service that you get early access and games day to date as they release like madden 21, fifa 21 etc.

So you don’t get the free trials with this? Only a few old games? I initially thought it was a great deal but if this is true then not so much.

Great move by MS. They are throwing a bunch of money around into the subscription game. I'll be interested to see how gamers react to this.

You would have to look up what the base EA PLAY gets you. i think you get early beta stuff. But you dont get the games as they release day to date like you do with EA PLAY PRO.

Notice they showed old games in that montage, all of those are in the vault which comes with what base EA PLAY is.

I did not expect this but that is awesome news. I am not a huge fan of EA these days but I'm sure I will play more of their games if they are on Gamepass.
