Check his posting history.

Badmouths MS in every post.

There's a difference in bad mouthing and being realistic in what your getting. EA PLAY(EA ACCESS) was $5 a month. It got your early/beta access to new games for 10 hours and mainly a backlog of older EA titles.

Not a bad deal if your into those games. Issue is minus battlefield/battlefont titles you could play a lot of those games else where or get them for cheap.

The early beta access was a bigger selling point.

This is a great value being added to gamepass.

But saying that this turns the tide or narrative of xbox magically having more "First party titles" at launch is not the truth of that narrative.

How many people are buying a xbox series S/X to play last years madden, BFV, battlefront. All dead games or games everyone who buys an xbox has already played.

Maybe for the casual player this is an amazing deal. Or to people who just consume content differently and want access to back catalog of games they want to go back to.

Still does not move the needle of why you need to buy and xbox since this is also on PC, xbox one as well.

The Xbox division must be burning money at the moment, but you won't hear me complaining 😊

Ouch...teaming up with EA....

I guess it makes sense as both companies are heading down the same path...

This is a game changer, especially if EA starts putting Madden and FIFA up day and date for folks to play. Forget paying for a new (old) game every year--now it's included in a monthly membership.

EA Access is also $30/yr.

Whoever said adding EA Access was going to be a tide turner? It's a free perk for GPU.

I get it. You hate MS and think EA Access is crap because it has older games.

What does MS care? They now make about $40 billion profit per year! Pretty sure Nadella can refocus a billion for the Xbox division. That's 2.5% of profits. MS typically beats their quarterly EPS target by more than that. So MS can basically fund a billion per year for Xbox and all they have to do reduce their profit buffer and still hit analyst's targets.

So you don’t get the free trials with this? Only a few old games? I initially thought it was a great deal but if this is true then not so much.
I'm pretty sure you get 10 hour free trials on their new releases. Last I checked that was the case but they didn't have this ea pro thing ole mates talking about.

Yeah true, I also don't think it's an issue of money. Although there will be a limit, and a time on return of investment. But that's probably at least a 5 year plan.

Yep, its EA so only a handful of good stuff in EA Access, which is why bundling it with Ultimate makes total sense.

This is great.

The shareholders care a lot. Contrary to what a lot of you morons with no understanding of how business works, just because a company is raking in cash, doesn't mean that shareholders will allow that money to get invested into money sinks. So no, MS is not just going to pour all that profit into the games division if there isn't likely to be a significant return on investment.

Yup. MS is committing to a long term game. They wouldnt be going hard with gear, games, studios, price, xcloud at a loss if there wasn't a long term strategy of sticking around. It would be the opposite, there wouldnt even be Series S/X, and they would be winding down gaming.

And it kills Sony fans the longer MS stays in the game.

You do know my xbox live account is linked to my Gaf account right? I have a gaming PC, had a Gamepass ultimate subscription but let it run out.

I own the OG xbox, xb360, own a old Windows 98SE machine for legacy DOS titles?

I don't hate Microsoft, I dislike the path and the way they are going about trying to fix the main issue. WHich is quality first party games.

EA PLAY is great for their whole service initiative. I get that it is in the grand scheme of things a big deal in terms of bolstering the gamepass service offering.

Just saying that all this is trying to deter you away from looking at the issues they have. Which is first party games.

And adding a service for older EA titles does not correct that.

Great news. Next step: integrating Uplay+ into Gamepass

I see what you did there

Wow I was just thinking the exact same thing like 2 seconds before I saw this post, great minds and all that. :messenger_winking:

EA Play is a great add at the price of $0 additional dollars. I plan to play though the Dead Space series in the near future but I don't own DS3 and now I can play it again for free. Also ME:A at the price of free is enough to get me to finally tryit, if for nothing more than the comedy.

How the GP haters can try to downplay such an amazing service as Game Pass is unfathomable to me. GP makes me glad to be an Xbot.

will be interesting to see some of these older games enhanced on next gen

Wonder if rumors are true from jeff grub on the Mass Effect trilogy remaster? You wonder if the games in the vault get updated to the remaster version? Or compare them?

If they cared, they put a stop to Xbox, Nadella would be gone and MS stock wouldnt be near all time highs.

Pretty sure Xbox gaming hasn't had a significant return on investment ever. Maybe some pockets of years here and there, but definitely not as a 20 year product line.

Yet it's still around and MS is being even more aggressive.

So feel free to tell me why.

Ok forget about the question I understood the concept.
However, too be honest, never heard of such a concept, never did it, this is confusing me extremely and it is actually inviting to more and more monthly subscription fees without actually having money. It's like a credit card trap and it seems very in line with the actual reality of USA working and living from paycheck to paycheck.

This is no disrespect to anyone who tries to make a living based on the realities he is facing, but such a subscription model (total worth of Series X bundle = $840) is actually leaning towards the fact that people pay money that they don't have for things that they think they need.
All you can Eat for all your life for JUST $35 per month...

Nobody has stated this is a turning point for Xbox calm down buddy, all I've seen is people saying that this adds heaps of value and one dude who was confused if he got new EA Games or trials. Yes we know it's not the top their ea pro play this that and whatever but it adds value to the service and will definitely have people more interested in it. I for one am keen to access the vault for some of last year's FIFA and Madden's as I don't buy them yearly, plus whatever else is there.

You also have to look at this as a great advertising bullet point for Microsoft, I can already see them having a trailer with star wars, madden, FIFA plus everything else on the service. That will get the attention of plenty of casuals alone. There also can be something said for the added discount on new EA Games I'm sure people would take advantage of once they've finished their trial per game.

I get to trial a new EA game (of they bring out something I'm interested in) and then buy it at a discount. It's like I'm back renting games from blockbuster to see if I wanna buy them.

Absolutely amazing deal Gamepass is. You are foolish not to be subscribed unless you only play 1 or 2 games all year. Such a great way to try out games and if they don't stick move on the the next. Really enjoying Remnant right now which I would have never played otherwise.

Ok, so who can explain to me this Video exactly:

The last brief moment:
Uwleebe.png

This is extremely confusing to me as a consumer.
What does that mean?
That I get a Console of my choosing (Series X or S) I get Xbox Games Pass Ultimate and I pay 24.99??
Do I physically get a console if I pay 24,99 / month? If prices vary by consoles, why not explicitly name what exactly the difference is and who takes part in this?

Yes. Xbox All Access means that:

For $25 a month you get a Series S with Gamepass Ultimate

For $35 a month you get a Series X with Gamepass Ultimate

And now Gamepass Ultimate includes EA Play

All with ZERO interest. It's actually cheaper than getting the consoles and Gamepass Ultimate separately.

But Zero Interest was never the problem since base rate is already <0%...
I can get hundreds of thousands of € for 1-2% interest nowadays.
I am just not used to buying something with rates, I don't know, it's just not something that I have been grown up on.
If I want a console I buy it ..

This makes one of the best deals in gaming an even better deal. Glad I picked up like three years of ultimate last year.

You have never payed your phone off in monthly installments? Its the exact same thing only with Xbox All Access you actually get to save money. If you would purchase everything separately you would end up paying more. Now that its bundled you are getting a killer deal and saving money.

Series S/X - $300/$500 (One time purchase)
EA Play - $5/Monthly or $30/Yearly ($60 to $120 for 24 Months)
GamePass Ultimate plus Xcloud - $15/monthly ($360 for 24 Months)

Xbox All Access for Series S at $25 for 24 Month would come out to $625 vs. $720(GPU $360 + 60 EA Play + Series S $300)
Xbox All Access for Series X at $35 for 24 Month would come out to $840 vs. $920(GPU $360 + 60 EA Play + Series X $500)

What are you trying to say?

You can buy the console cash. And pay for Gamepass Ultimate separately (unless you have it already).

Charge it to your credit card (and pay interest over time). And pay for Gamepass Ultimate separately (unless you have it already).

Or use Xbox All Access and pay $25 or $35 a month (depending on the console you choose). No interest. This includes Gamepass Ultimate and it's cheaper than buying the console separately from Gamepass Ultimate.

It's all about choice and the choice is yours.

Never, Sir. Never. If I couldn't afford something I didn't buy it. Counts for Phones as well.
I am odd I guess..
The package sounds fine. What's the cost without the console?

Btw. Awesome Avatar, Love the Series!

...or

You charge it to your CC that is already interest free and pay it off on time and still be able to take advantage of Game Pass Ultimate sale prices and promotions. All Access is not the only interest free option. BB and Amazon are both very popular stores that offer interest free financing.

I love all the reactions to playing a bunch of old ass games in EA'S vault.

"Microsoft is killing it", Gamepass isn't legal.

Sure what ever floats your boat. If you want to play their games with all the MT bullshit like Battlefront 2, BFV, and last years fifa/madden.

I mean to have access at no added cost is great.

But these are all vault games. Not like your getting new stuff that will have a player base.

Player base for a lot of the older shooters are dead.

We all get it. You don't like GP or you only have as PS4 and can't get it. Whatever, you've trolled this free Game Pass perk and this thread enough now so GTFO and go find something else to troll.
