Yeah, I write and I'm usually pretty close to the vest, but imo execution/style matters more than concept. As they say, every story has already been told. It's just a matter of the expression.

The philosophy I go by is, it's not about the ideas you use, it's about how you use them.

I'd love to write a non-fiction book in the future but I have this crippling self-doubt of not being able to bring anything new to the table or missing important references relevant to the topic I'm interested in.

I've thought about writing fiction but alas my brain is not suited for that purpose.

I like to think the story I’m writing is original. Some have come close since I started though which gets a bit worrisome.

I'm not saying originality is impossible in the details, certainly. I'm referring to the essence of narrative, the fundamentals that drive narrative. We're all human, and in that condition there is a finite scope to which we can relate and which we find compelling in terms of the nuts and bolts imho.
