My dream schedule:

Demon's Souls gameplay
Third Party gameplay
Miles Morales gameplay
Third party gameplay
Silent Hill reboot reveal CG trailer
Third party gameplay
God Of War Ragnarok reveal CG trailer
Price $449 / $399
Release November 13 worldwide
Pre-orders live now

Bang. Done.

They seem to want to show captured in PS5, so I don’t think they’ll show CG. I’d prefer real time cinematic trailers/cutscenes instead.
Showing a CGI trailer before seeing the actual game does absolutely nothing for me.

Agreed... but I think both projects will be too far away, hence the cg teaser. Not my preferred option either, but trying to remain as realistic as I can!

I want a ticket for the hype train. My only "fear" is being at work if preorders go live then.

I'd really love to see at least one Jrpg though. Hell, any rpg would be nice, and I don't mean some open world game with tacked on rpg elements that is just re-adding the basic abilities from prior games to give a fake sense of progression because the devs couldn't be bothered to be more creative.

Still, Demon's Souls and Ratchet are my most anticipated so far, if DS is a day 1 launch game I'll be content. I want a quality game to get lost in. You have a heart of gold, don't let them take it from you.

Might need to stop sniffing glue
All LAUNCH PS3s were PS2 B/C, it was later it became a hybrid B/C then was removed. All PS3s at launch had it.
PS1 was always software and remained.

It was cut for cost savings as it was sort of done so people who had recently bought PS2 games could continue them along
with the Memory card adapters they had that allowed you to move your saves over. It was meant to be a "transitional thing and
with the system being so expensive, anything they could do to make it cheaper... they did.

I double checked.. you’re right

Watch 20 minutes of this be all hd remasters or re-releases to fill the void until next year. I will never understand someone being excited over a 2 yr old game getting a rerelease with prettier textures.

I think so, yes. Would make a lot of sense.

I’m thinking of ordering from a local shop and picking up at midnight like a big child If possible. I heard some horror stories of Amazon not delivering on release day. First time I’ll be buying launch day so this is new territory for me. Need to decide to trust amazon or not! Shopto have always been good to me and have my pre (preorder) in with them.

Disc: $599
Less: $549
I'm going with ps5 Blu-ray $500 DE $450. It's the only thing that makes sense but yet doesn't because $50 isn't that big of a deal and most people would just spend the 50. For sony to sell the DE they have to make it a value so maybe $450 with 3 months of psnow and a free game

Doubt the difference will be just 50 euro, there would be little point. You say it yourself.

I'm probably going to pre-order a couple from different places. One on Amazon, one on a local store's website. If I get both, my nephew will be getting the best Xmas present he's ever had :messenger_beaming:

I wonder what the ratio of DE and regular PS5's will be? Will they be expecting more ppl to opt for the cheaper version, do they want to push the all digital sales hard? Was/is there a constrained supply of 4k drives? I doubt it, maybe it'll be 50/50. I'd settle for either as long as I can get a PS5 day 1, but prefer the optical drive.

I bought a sex doll, but I keep it inflated 100% of the time and use it like a regular wife
...do they want to push the all digital sales hard?
Probably, that would get rid of the second hand msrket and would grant them total control over the prices. Also I guess maintaining servers is cheaper than producing tons of disks, but dunno.

I can't see sony making the DE be $100 cheaper with the only difference being a $5-10 blu-ray drive
It's a 4K dual layer bluray drive is more expensive but it's not the hardware cost, it is the fact that they will make 30% more on every game purchase and it locks out piracy, second hand, trading and game lending.

So you have to consider the long term benefits.

Same deal as PS exclusives... they don't make much financial sense up front but they bring people into the ecosystem and they spend money on other games that make them lots of money and PS+

How could something so aesthetically interesting feel so unbelievably bland? It's like a really bad doom 3 clone with gigeresque artwork. At times it does look like a painting, but it seemed that's all they have going for it.

Yeah it looks more like an interactive art project that someone decided to turn into a 'game'. Heavy on the art (it really is nice) but low on the game/animation/interactivity and all the rest.

It will depend on the price and what's the best value.
At $100 differece, the disk version is super bad value
At only $20 difference, the digital edition is super bad value.
At $50 difference it's a toss up. Because that is one game you get for free.

I think $499 DE and $529 disk is solid.
$399 DE and $429 disk seems way to cheap
