Where’s @Xaero Gravity ? It feels like this thread is missing his chaotic contributions.
He’s crying because his precious Toronto Raptors lost in the playoffs

Jooxed Jooxed You weren't kidding about those secret jobs, Ophilia has officially become a God now that she's a sorcerer.
Long video but the more I see of this game the more fun it looks , either that or I just want to play a blatant BOTW ripoff

At least it looks like it’s done well

Looks decent, don't know why people were trashing it in the thread.

🤷‍♂️

People wanted to play BOTW on other systems well here it is or at least the closest thing you’ll get for now.
Not sure why either man looks like a pretty solid game, maybe because it’s made by ubi.

Nothing really new here, just thought i'd post it anyway.

Today, Nintendo confirmed the official distribution of the Nintendo Switch system in the Brazilian market on September 18th, 2020. Nintendo Switch is a unique home video game system that has sold more than 61 million units around the world since its release in March 2017. Nintendo hopes people in Brazil will enjoy the full home-console experience anytime, anywhere. Nintendo Switch not only connects to a TV at home, but it also instantly transforms into tabletop mode for sharing the fun, and on-the-go handheld mode to take the system anywhere.

Nintendo Switch will be available for purchase on Sept. 18th at a suggested retail price of R$ 2,999 in selected retailers Lojas Americanas and Magazine Luiza, as well as online at the virtual stores Americanas.com.br, Magazineluiza.com.br and Submarino.com.br. Simultaneously, the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller and additional Joy-Con controllers in different color options will be available at the same retailers.

“When Nintendo Switch launches in Brazil this September, we hope it will help bring smiles to the faces of everyone who plays,” said Bill van Zyll, Director and General Manager of Latin America at Nintendo of America. “People of all ages will be able to enjoy the fun and social gaming that Nintendo Switch offers.”

The Nintendo Switch system in Brazil will come in two color options: Nintendo Switch with Gray Joy-Con and Nintendo Switch with Neon Blue and Neon Red Joy-Con. Each system will come with the console, Joy-Con (L) and Joy-Con (R) controllers, a Joy-Con grip, a set of Joy-Con straps, a Nintendo Switch dock, an HDMI cable, an AC adaptor plug for Brazil and a quick-start insert in Brazilian Portuguese. Both versions will be at the same suggested retail price.

The new owners of Nintendo Switch in Brazil will be able to discover a wide library of more than 100 games in Loja Nintendo, the official digital store for Nintendo Switch games, including Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Also, content cards are available for purchase in selected retailers Lojas Americanas and Magazine Luiza, as well as online at the virtual stores Americanas.com.br, Magazineluiza.com.br and Submarino.com.br.

Hmm, Dark Souls 3 is on the JRPG section at the PS store, price 59.99 i remember buying it for less some months after release,a little interesting isn't it 🤔

Fear of digital only console propaganda intensifies

I've entertained the idea of not seeing all that many sales when things go all digital before. That's definitely in the cards, I mean why make evergreens like Nintendo when you can just force them.

3D All Stars looks legit. Love the menu.

My first memory of Super Mario 64 is still as vivid as it was in 1996. I was 15 years old and I was very much in love with the Playstation. My relationship with Nintendo was a bit frosty however, having skipped the SNES and was not impressed by the first look of the N64. I realized that Nintendo wasn't really for me.

But then, my sisters boyfriend at the time, imported a N64 from the US, 6 months earlier than the Swedish launch, and he also had a copy of Super Mario 64. He came over and showed it to me, and holy shit was I impressed. Before this, Tomb Raider was the most impressive 3D game for me, but Mario 64 was on a whole other level. It was downright groundbreaking in its design, the controls and the establishment of the now classic 3D-Mario formula.

We couldn't stop playing. It was so addictive, collecting all the stars, that for a couple of weeks, I didn't touch my PS. The feeling Mario 64 gave was one of a kind, it was the true step into 3D gaming. I felt so lucky to be able to play and finish it so early.

I never got an N64 due to being so young and with no disposable income, but my sisters boyfriend was kind enough to let me play the classics such as Ocarina of Time, MK 64 and Goldeneye.

When I think of it, much of the late 90s was just littered with groundbreaking releases, with whole new genres created. Good times.

Yeah the menu is pretty sweet

I'm really hoping they add Galaxy 2 as well. That menu is exactly what I expected-same as all of the other Nintendo Emulation collections.

It's funny how we all are excited about the game but simultaneously want more. One thing they could have easily changed would be the button prompts in the UI. I'm actually a bit surprised they didn't do that. They updated the UI for OOT/MM on GameCube.

For me it’s very believable a new switch would be around the corner. And not a pro, but the “next” version

this goes back to what Nintendo and nvidia have said about their partnership from the beginning, even since iwata mentioned, that they are going to make a “family” of systems as well as nvidia saying their partnership with Nintendo will Last “20 years” or something to that effect

You have the iPhone 11 and the XR, you have the Galaxy line up at various price points. Android Games Can run on the galaxy s7 but also the galaxy s20 with enhancements such as 120fps or faster refresh rates etc. Console manufacturers have moved in the direction of having baseline and pro models, now multiple models at release.

this is the general trend hardware has been moving in, and it makes sense for Nintendo to do their version of it.

Also, they know what’s made switch successful, and I’m sure they have been talking to third parties as well. A more powerful switch or next iteration is a logical step, and it doesn’t mean the current switch and switch lite are going away any time soon. It just means Nintendo will expand their lineup

people buy thousand dollar phones annually, and I think a good portion of the core Nintendo market would get a new switch that offered enhancements and exclusives

something on the level of ps4 would mean we’ll likely see games like resident evil come to a next gen switch too or more “on par” versions of FIFA and such

The buttons are changed. In fact, all 2D art (UI, effects, decals on Mario, etc.) has been replaced with much, much higher quality versions.

It just hit me that the compilation is out in a week. That's crazy. I'm going to have to wait a couple days before I can play it, but I'm feeling sufficiently amped for this. Might end up playing through 64 first, despite that I wasn't all that interested in doing so when this thing got announced. It's only been uh.... 23 years since I last played through it.

Sorry, should have been more clear. I meant I was surprised they didn't outright replace them with Switch buttons since they were already updating them. Similar to how they switched A/B from Blue/Green to Green/Red on the GameCub Zelda releases.

I will be playing Sunshine first given it was the forst 3D Mario I ever played and remember the frustration of trying to get into the different levels at the time.

When I played Billy Hatcher years later I realised they both have some things in common including the awkward controls and trying to clean up levels.

Overall, I prefer BH's level designs but Sunshine has the better setting.

Random thought: Sunshine may have aged better than it started out as.

In 2002, as only the 5th Mario game, Super Mario Sunshine is a very, very weird game. No mushroom kingdom. Utterly strange water tool. Realistic visuals. It’s completely dissonant with the series it spawned from.

In 2020, after Mario has been to space and back, flown through souls and possessed them, has double digits in games, been to all kinds of settings, been portrayed all kinds of ways, had all kinds of moves and bizarre abilities, had every kind of gameplay...

Sunshine looks a whole lot more like par for the course, and actually restrained in some ways, lol.

The current Switch is selling really well, and i believe its not good to rush a system like Switch 2 to compete with Sony/MS this soon, if they wait a little more it will have better tech and price, let them have next gen for a couple years then strike with an awesome hybrid hardware and cool new gimmicks, its not really going to close the gap anyways, there will still tons of angry fans complaining why X next gen game is not on Switch 2 when Y is.

However, Nintendo has been really silent regardless of this being 2020 and all, its likely they will be unveiling new hardware soon, and with their lack of releases it wouldn't be shocking if it really is Switch 2 🤔

I just hope this is the calm before the storm and not another dissapointing year 🤭

I’d buy a potential Switch Pro or Switch 2, even if it was only a New 3DS-level performance boost. The Switch is the main platform I play games on, and I wouldn’t mind better performance. That being said, I hope it wouldn’t be a hard shift to that new platform. The Switch has only been out 3 years. I really think there’s a lot of life left in the platform.

So if it goes through Nvidia can basically make any custom ARM CPU and GPU for Nintendo.

So, I think Danjin44 Danjin44 posted this a couple of times. At first, I was like, okay, he throws a hat, what’s the big deal? Lol. But the actual sheer amount of detail and thought that went into this is classic Nintendo.

Stuff like this impresses me more than any advance tech ever could, its really fun to see how designers have to use limited frame to make the animation not only look good but feels good to control and it has nothing do having some kind expensive graphics or advance tech, its all about skill of the designers.

I've only ever played the first few missions of Mario 64 via the DS port.

giphy.gif

Mario 64 DS was fucking weird. It improves some textures and adds some new levels that were kind of a mixed bag, but like.... why the fuck does the game start you off playing as Yoshi? It's kind of interesting, I guess, if you've played the game to death, but it just seems so.... dumb if you're new to the game. Actually, the DS was just a weird-ass system during that first year, full stop.

Where's my Trauma Center for Switch, dammit?

I don’t disagree. That said, theres précédent for it before - the GBA was selling amazing yet Nintendo put out the DS, aka a new hardware, just over 3 years later

there’s also the reason why they have business incentive to do so...the rationale for that is the switch has benefitted from having some level of support from current gen consoles. In order to keep up, they may feel a new switch is important. They may have learned from the Wii being aged in the market too long, or they may Have been receiving feedBack from key developers over the past year or two, that more support would be possible With more powerful hardware

Further, if they are trying something new akin to a “family” of systems, which they have discussed previously, why can they not coexist together? The standard iPad coexists next to the iPad Pro for instance. The current switch doesn’t suddenly disappear, also if it’s a new chip, it might be more expensive- or the current switch my come down in price and keep a sales trajectory at pace

Bloomberg reporting the smoke means there’s fire to me. I didn’t think a new switch was coming until they also corroborated earlier reports. So now I’m trying to think what rationale Nintendo has to release a new system early next year - keep in mind these don’t suddenly materialize, Nintendo would have been working on this with partners for quite some time. We don’t know the exact nature of nVidia and Nintendo’s “20 year” partnership; they may have a new chip design that fits Nintendo’s price point

well I don’t think this changes anything for ARM licensees as far as we know, Only that it will likely benefit nvidia more from owning them

I hope Nintendo release a new Mario Strikers next year in time for the Euro 2021 tournament. If not that, then maybe in time for the next World Cup. We need more Mario sports games.

Where the fuck is Wario Ware as well?!

I am fully convinced that the Switch 2/Switch Pro will be an extension of the Switch ecosystem rather than a replacement for it. There's such a strong distaste for breaking compatibility with older hardware in the industry right now that I don't see how even a platform-holder as weird as Nintendo would stray from it. I haven't had any devs verbatim tell me that's the case, but I have no reason to suspect otherwise.

I would think Mario Golf would be first. I'll take either or both.
