We won't have enough COVID-19 vaccine for everybody until 2024, warns world's largest vaccine producer

The boss of the world's biggest vaccine producer has warned that it will take at least four years to make enough vaccines for the entire global population.
Adar Poonawalla, chief executive of the Serum Institute of India, told the Financial Times on Monday that pharmaceutical companies are not increasing production capacity fast enough to vaccinate everyone before 2024.
"It's going to take four to five years until everyone gets the vaccine on this planet," Poonawalla said.

Just ration it to those at high risk. The COVID hysteria has gone on long enough. The daily death count is in the low single digits here yet it's reported as if leaving the house is an irresponsible thing to do, and the daily tallies are reported like stock market movements!

How many more livihoods and lives are to be destroyed for a virus that is killing fewer people each day than those that die falling down the stairs in their homes each day?

Businessinsider can be suspect in their reporting at times (not very reputable).

As far as the US and probably Europe is concerned as long as the trials goes smoothly most people should get something by spring if it starts rolling out this November. If it does not start in November probably about 6 month after it start general population will be able to get it.

Places like India and China there could be shortages just because of the amount of people.

Which means that there won't be any common cold cases 'til 2024 on the globe. Or at least there will be very few and far between.
Reason? Lock-downs, curfews, masks, sanitizers, you name it.

-Give it to the Richest.
- That’s racist, white people are taking all the cures. POc’s are hit harder by Covid.

-Give it to the poorest.
-That’s racist. They are testing this cure on Poc’s!

The only vaccine I have ever taken is the TB one (Taken at school). I didn't even know there was a flu vaccine until this year :messenger_grinning_smiling:

Little known fact about me: I've never taken the flu vaccine. I'm fine. No reason to be alarmist.

Ive taken the flu vaccine once. Only time I really ever got sick was that year. I rarely ever get sick, my wife even had Corona and was hit super bad and I had a sore throat for a day at best.

To me this sounds like a method of control. But who knows.

The problem is going to be that it's looking likely that the vaccine might only be effective for 2-3 months, so it's going to be incredibly hard to have the majority of the population vaccinated at the same time.

The only year in my adult life that I haven't got the flu vaccine I got the flu and was knocked off my feet for over a week.

Maybe the real vaccine is the friends we made along the way.

Except there aren't any, because the government has forbidden and stigmatized human contact.

I got the flu vaccine this year and came down with an illness that involved heavy coughing, fever, joint pain, and weakness. Weird.

The COVID vaccine can fuck right off, not taking it.
