DMC Special Editions are upgraded versions of originals. Usually it means VERGIL EDITION.

Sure, but you shouldn't have to consciously make those compromises on consoles. Optimize the game the way you, as the developer, see fit, and let that just be the way it works on consoles. PCs obviously have trade-offs, too, but the difference is that you can just brute force through all of it if you have the hardware. Either way, it's a very different feeling when the brand new consoles that aren't even out yet aren't even good enough to run old games well.

Targeting 1080p/60 with RT is understandable, considering Turbo Mode, where the game runs 20% faster, and Legendary Dark Knight difficulty, where the number of enemies on screen hits fucking Dynasty Warriors numbers.

This was the happiest moment of the show for me. I am so glad that DMC is alive again, and the trailer is pretty hype.
When I saw it was a launch title I flipped out lol. Will be tough for me to play new games when DMC5:SE is available

Turbo mode and no loading may make this the best playing game in the franchise, can't wait to try it out.

I have base PS4 with 4K TV, and I was waiting for PS5 to play DMC5 enhanced version and now they are telling that I don't have option for at least PS4 Pro level of resolution/fps on freaking next-gen system. This is really fucked up situation and I am surprised others don't see problem with it.

God damn I hate how the characters look outside of Nero and Nico. Trish has a man face, Lady has the jawline of a lumberjack, Dante looks ok from certain angles, and Vergil reminds me of Christopher Walken's Headless Horsemen minus the shark teeth. They should have kept the anime-esque look imo.

Anyways, I loved the game, so I'll pick up the SE version or (hopefully) just pay for the upgrade on PC.

if I had to guess, 1440p30 + RT, 720p60 + RT and 1080p120 no RT

This will be the best way to play DMC or any game like it.

RT 4K/30 fps
RT 1080p/60 fps
Up to 120 fps without RT at 1080p.

If you have a 120 fps capable TV or monitor, it's a no-brainer which to choose.
