Switching from 1000u to 500u speed — will I notice A big difference?

I’ve had a 1000u connection for a long time but signed up for a deal on a 500u fibre optic connection.

The 500u connection is fibre optic and ftth, my 1000u connection is not. Just wondering if I’ll notice any real difference? I tested out the speed of my current 1000u connection and it’s really only about 300u over wireless — 90% of my use will be over wireless, the only Direct plug in might be my PC or PS4.

Not a big household only a couple users although we do stream everything ...

I can pay 10 bucks more to upgrade to 1000u but I’m wondering if it be overkill.

When it comes to net speed, there's no such thing as overkill in my book.

yeah that was generally my philosophy too ... but I mostly surf over WiFi and appears I’m only getting 564u right now. So now I’m wondering if I’ll really see any tangible difference.

Any idea what that measures? Never seen it before.

lol honestly I don’t know. I just assumed it was a commonly used thing.

i ended up calling them back and going with the 1000u giga connection. I probably don’t need it but it was onLy 9.99 more than 500u

What does "u" mean? Maximum speed?

I'm assuming OP lives in Soviet Canada like me.

"u" means unlimited, as in no data caps. Yes we have to pay for that privilege thanks to our telecom oligopoly. Caps are still the norm in Canada.
