I feel like console plebs have actually done very well this gen in terms of PC titles - Divinity, Baldurs Gate, Civ 6, Wasteland, etc. This is not stuff you saw on the console any more than occasionally before.

C'mon... It was the key factor to make Sony almost monopolize the market until the 360 days. And their key advantage to become the leader on the console market.
Where were those pirated nintendo 64s Saturn, dreamcast, GameCube or OG Xbox back in the 90s and 00s. PlayStation piracy was even more rampant and easy to access than pc

Totally agree with this. Sony's thinking is seriously flawed if they believe this. Bringing your best games to other platforms only devalues your box and makes people think twice about buying in to PlayStation if they feel the games will be available elsewhere eventually.

Trailers aren't made completely from scratch each time. That slide appeared in other trailers simply with the logo of the game swapped. Someone had an after effects template for it, and forgot to remove a layer. This is a very simple *and common* mistake.
If you think "there is no way" you literally don't know how trailers are made.

I'm the type of gamer that likes to play games all in one place because let's face it the experience is 85% the same no matter your format. You have to decide what's more important to you graphical fidelity/framrates/mods or playing the massive Sony exclusives, which let's face it are some of the best in the industry. Now I'm not saying one is the obvious choice over the other, only that it is a choice (unless you want to just buy both, which is the best of both worlds).
Spec wise I dont believe a $800 dollar PC will be comparable to a next gen console. You can't compare like for like specs because developers can get alot out of less with a console due to the lack of variations. You can't really argue that point. Look how good Last of Us: Part 2 looks on a PS4 base. If your going for a PC I definitely advise a 8 core CPU and a high end graphics card with a NVME gen 3 SSD if you want to be future proof for this coming gen.
Obviously you get fan boys each side, but I think the more level headed can appreciate the advantages and disadvantages of both without be going into a (more) comprehensive tech list, lifestyle benefits or breakdown of costs.

I always wonder why Nintendo is always brushed aside when it comes to conversation about "holding games hostage". Can someone explain it to me? It's fascinating. Even Sony knows that at some point in the future they have to turn Playstation into a service on multiple devices. If you dont start planting those roots now you wont be a contender when it happens.

In general, this "i played it 3 years ago,ah!" attitude is weird to me. I mean i still play good games from the '90s, who cares?

Nintendo consoles always get emulated well within their lifespan. Nobody is going to get mad about BOTW not getting a PC port when anyone with a semi-decent gaming rig can emulate it at 1080p 60FPS.

Yeah that's totally fine. Just another variable how much one likes them. I absolutely love most of them so that adds alot to me going PS5. Infact I'd go as far to say if it wasn't for them I'd defo go PC. The main draw for me with PC isn't the fidelity (although that is nice) but older game/console emulation.

Xbox studios games on the other hand are selling far better on PC.

The exclusives that do get a PC release will be kind of irrelevant by the time they do so, as there will be newer and hotter ones on the market already. I doubt anyone truly gave an F about Horizon Zero Dawn in 2020, but hey, at least it enables a certain audience to brag and troll about it, I guess.

It's a trailer in a Playstation conference. Sony clearly paid for marketing rights. Their job is to sell you Playstation. They could give fuck all about any objective that doesn't meet that end.
