I'm not from Germany, but I was planing to order from amazon.de, because XSX will cost at least 200 EUR more here. Pre-orders were 20 minutes late, I lost my focus, trying to find it elsewhere and then it was too late.

Was watching the preorder thread on Ree the morning after Sony's show when some Mediamarkt/Saturn links got posted there.
Grabbed a regular PS5 (was hoping for digital) at MM, delivery changed from 28.11 to 19.11 as well - hoping for the best...

That really sucks. But I think the situation would be better without COVID. I didn't expect for a long time PS5 and XSX would launch this year.

Sony is probably punishing retailers for starting preorders without Sonys direct permission?
So now the retailers have to confront their customers that they acceppted to many preorders without any knowledge about availability.

Question remains, are those preorders significantly higher then anyone expected or does sony have trouble getting enough PS5's ready for launch.

My guess is:
1. This generation more customers are willing to get new consoles then ever before
2. On top of that more scalpers are trying to make profit due to availability issues
3. Covid is making it harder to produce and ship those devices in mass on time
Taking all this into consideration, thats why availability will be even more scarce then ever before on a next-gen launch.
I can see this dragging on into the first half of 2021. Maybe even longer once new lockdowns are on their way.
Then again who am I to make realisitc speculations on that matter.

So if anyone sees PS5s available in Germany give me a sign, would ya?

Me too, I wasn't able to do the same with the Xbox. Seems MS put a restriction on who Amazon.de could ship them to.

I got my Disc version at Amazon when they put them up around 2-3 hours after the showcase.

Everyone else who tried to get one in the morning was like:

Thats how I felt like. Didn't know the preorders would go live after the presentation. Had to go to sleep afterwards due to work and our dog.... ~_~

Conrad did that in the past already with a variety of things, e.g. a discount offer for Nintendo Switch was cancelled for hundreds of people just a few days later via E-Mail. They always use the same E-Mail template and excuse it with technical issues..

I was just able to order one as a guest for pick-up with cash payment at Saturn.
Let's see how high I am in the ranking, if there are cancellations, but it's nevertheless just a backup, in case of a late delivery.

Me neither, but the website showed a text which stated out, that it can be 15 minutes, until we get an e-mail. And that under normal circumstances, I think right now it'll take longer. It's like they're getting DDos'd.

Yeah sorry guys it was the 2nd wave of preorders in germany thats why is just typed as fast as I could to inform potential German Ps5 users heres as soon as possible. :)

I managed to order one from Saturn. At first, the delivery date was November 28 but a couple of days ago I got an email saying that there was a mistake and that it's actually going to be delivered on November 19.

Also, about 20 minutes ago (Friday morning, ~10am), I saw that Amazon DE had the digital version available for November 19 delivery. I tried buying it (as my brother didn't get an order earlier this week) but despite saying it was in my basket a few times, when I went to checkout it was empty. After a few minutes it was no longer available.

I bought my PS1 @ MediaMarkt in Feuerbach (Sttutgart) in 1995. I will never forget that day. I lived in Germany between 1990-1997.

Hope this half-qualifies me at least, to post in this thread.

I don't even want a PS5, but I ordered one anyway when I came across one on Amazon.de by mere chance this morning. Don't know what to do with my order now, quite frankly. Maybe I'll cancel it, maybe I'll give it to a friend. Can anyone here give me a good reason to own a PS5? Money is not an issue, but I have a good PC already.

Well you'll get a good amount of "free" PS4 games for PS5 with and PS Plus Subscription right away. You can give that a try, maybe they'll actually suit you.
Its called "Playstation Plus Collection".

Agree. I suspect that both launch lineups look so bad because of this mess. We've recently heard of the rumour that Nintendo is banking on a good launch in 2021 with a new piece of hardware. Maybe that means Sony and MS will have much more to show in about 12 months? You can't underestimate how hard the CCP virus hit certain companies.

Was virtually impossible to order one via phone.

Tried it everywhere, only on saturn.de i got to the payment page wich crashed on me after paying.

Amazon didnt do amything against bots i guess. Their contigent seem to be gone in seconds.

Was kinda bummed out. After an hour or so i received a mail from saturn that my order went through.
