Hey Bravely Default 2 team. You guys know 2020 is winding down fast, right?

Where is any information about this game? I've been checking the Coming Soon section of the eShop all year for a release date for this game. It still lists as "2020".

If that's still true, it seems strange they have not released any more information. No release date or any information on the game's development.

Are we destined to see this fame delayed into 2021? And, if so, why is SquareEnix being so quiet about it?

I wish these companies were just a little bit transparent. Nintendo is the worst. Just give a quick update via Twitter. I have a running list of future games, and 80% are TBA.

It was likely delayed by Covid
Ine of the 'insiders' said the game was supposed to appear in one of the Mini Directs

There was a post from Imran hinting a 2021 delay.

What matters for SquareEnix is whether the game can ship during it's current fiscal year, ending March 31, 2021, which for them would still be a game released in 2020. We likely won't get either an actual release date or general release time frame, until they've determined if it can make the March deadline.

Japanese games do sometimes avoid typical hype-cycle product disclosure and release at the end of the year (in Japan, at least) without much word until just a bit before, but usually things like that kick off with a TGS showing. Bravely Default 2 wasn't at TGS, and I think that was the final hope that it might be sneaking out in 2020.

Can never be surprised if a game suddenly shows up in a Direct some day, but given that this is a boxed product by a 3rd Party in a relatively midrange franchise, it doesn't seem likely that they're holding the news for a holiday event release.
