It has come time to announce more details about the future of Black Desert on next generation consoles.



Xbox Series X/S

We are happy to announce that as backwards compatibility is a core feature of both Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, you will be able to enjoy Black Desert on the next generation of consoles from day 1. There will be no need to purchase any additional bundles as all current owners of Black Desert will be able to continue their adventures on these devices. The only caveat is that your current Xbox Live Account must be the one used, and if it is, you will be able to continue where you left off!



PlayStation 5

Our partners at Sony are also working hard to make sure that PlayStation users will also be able to enjoy Black Desert on PlayStation 5 on the day that the console makes its way to your home. We will keep you updated if there are any updates in the near future!

There are lots of improvements that I think can be made just by using the extra horsepower of the new systems in BC mode, but ideally I’d like to see them optimize for the next gen consoles sooner rather than later.

It’s B/C they shouldn’t need Dev kits, it should just work, unless they are in the 1% that won’t work.

It'll be interesting to see how Xbox SX shapes up with BDO. It was already 60 fps on the X and relatively steady.

It is about the messaging, and Sony's messaging under Jimbo have been silent arrogance and take it or leave it.

Imo it is worrying Sony is going down the elitist path like Nintendo used to, thinking their first party output can carry them past the finish line of a generation.

Is other game, have his own CUSA. Developers can load the old save and create a new, but requires programming.

Other thing is the BC, I suppose those games will able to load your old saves

I don't know, I suppose if you are connected to internet, and the upgrade is free, automatically will download and install PS5 version.

Anyway, this game progress is on servers, not on your save.
