I’m waiting for a while on PS5 and the only game that I currently want in the meantime is this. Sure it’s not going to be the optimal way to play this remake but I’d take new assets plus QOL stuff at a solid 30fps as a suitable substitute!

It's not about it being cross-gen, it's about Sony not being upfront with their releasing schedule. They hype this up as a true next gen game, gets everybody fired up and go make them spend thousands of dollars on consoles and peripherals just because we thought you could only get Demon's on PS5. Then when the dust settles Sony comes out and say, "btw, it comes to PS4 too, lol"

That's an extremely shitty approach, lying and deceiving your own customers to make PS5 to look more attractive. If this comes to PS4 I've could've waited buying a PS5 and grabbed the PS4-version, then get a PS5 when the hype slows down and the economy gets better.

If Sony drops this on PS4 after launch I'm done with them. It's false advertising and should be illegal. I cannot in good conscience defend such a decision, where you actively fuck your own customers hard earned money.

At the very least, a PC port is a likelihood in maybe 2-3 years. This is still a Sony owned IP, so I'd imagine that other consoles are out of the question.

Well TECHNICALLY the only thing they are saying here is that it will come exclusively to Ps5 .....on November 19.
It's the same wording third party devs use when they can't talk about timed exclusivity deal specifics :
"Is the game coming to console 1?"
"All we are saying at the moment is that on this specific date the game will launch exclusively on console 2?"

/s I think it will be exclusive. Byt if it isn't better for as I probably won't get a Ps5 for a few years

I get where you coming from that Sony have not been straight forward about anything when it comes to PS5. From not telling us how BC works to what games we are getting at launch but I personally dont see that much big deal about Demon's Souls also coming to PS4.

Right.

As mentioned previously, and as others have as well, this just feels a tad different. It's not JUST some random retailer, there's quite a bit more than that. I personally don't care about the outcome of this situation. I just think it's silly to see people quickly denounce something when there are a ton of "mistakes" that were made. Again, "mistakes" that aren't done or reviewed by one person, or just retailer based. For example the PS4 cover that's been passed around or the teaser/trailer error. Hell, weren't there rumors that it was coming to PS4 awhile ago but then suddenly it was PS5?
