So NeoGaf, do you hate PC gaming as well?

Have to admit I got turned off PC gaming for a long while after MS pushed a bad driver for xbox controller that fucked me up for days trying to figure out what went wrong. As of late I have done a 180 and love it.

Greg Miller hating it is closer to a reason to love it (Luckily, I already do and don't need his help).

Not surprised he can't handle it, tho. One needs to be able to do 16+16=32. 😂

The fact that this shitpost has over 8k likes is a depressing image of how many brain-dead people follow this shouting hypeman, but the fact that he blocked replies is even more pathetic.

I rarely have PC issues but I will agree with Greg that it is a bit more of a hassle than the flood of responses in here are going to suggest. I'm planning on playing the CoD beta with a PS4 controller in a few hours and I know it's going to take longer than it should to get that going.

I wouldn't say that there's a load of hoops you have to jump through on PC until you start installing mods and tweaking ini files etc, but you don't have to do this and you'll still get better results than consoles apart from mega broken games.

The few hoops I have jumped through to get a game running or looking better have been way worth it. To each his own, but I think he's making a massive issue out of this "hoop" business.

I may have to jump through hoops to get old games running on a modern PC, but how does this work on PS4? Oh yeah, you can't play PS3 games on it natively.

He's saying this literally days after that Solitaire game dropped on PC that he was a prominent part of. (Sidenote: not a good solitaire experience, way too easy, terrible story, but very slick aesthetic)

I haven’t been a PC gamer for 10 years but I can’t imagine things have gotten worst. Back then I would need to pop over in the Steam forums to get some help on fixing a game but usually it was just Bethesda’s busted ass shit. Most of the stuff I got from over devs ran just fine on Steam and GoG.

The only people who complain about "driver issues" are people who can't afford a gaming rig but want to come across like they can. They probably don't even know what a driver is.

I don't know hwo this person is. Also why would what someone else thinks about a thing I enjoy, influence my enjoyment.

I loved it until I ran into major issues which, after hours and hours of troubleshooting, replacement parts, time and more money, still weren't resolved. That made me hate it and sell my gear. This was only a few months ago. Now I'm considering getting back into it. Maybe I was just unlucky.

Troubleshooting is infuriating, though. Could be a driver issue. PSU? RAM stick? Maybe it's your GPU. Overheating? Update Windows? Oh, you already updated Windows? Bad move, go back to the previous version.

It literally could be anything.

Oh, absolutely. Still miles better than the alternatives.

P.S.
Never update anything without a valid reason.

PC gaming is one of those things where I think if you really ask people, they agree, PC gaming SUCKS! However, there is some weird joy about doing everything custom yourself and having a platform that you created, along with the raw power of it when you have new hardware. I play almost everything on console, but I still have always had a gaming PC of some kind. Even right now, with my aging laptop (i7-7700k, GeForce 1060 6GB, 32GB, 1TB SSD), I'm looking at building a new gaming PC even though I know I won't play many AAA games on it simply because I don't want the headache of maintaining it and configuring settings for every game. Guess I just like gaming in general, whether it be the hardware, the games, emulation, whatever...

I also hate PC gaming but hes wrong. Those extra frames and better graphics settings, mods etc. are worth all the trouble in the world.

I spent nearly 5 hours trying to figure out how to increase the framerate cap in MGSV but it was worth it. Now im running it with mods that increase FOV to 120 fps, no timers so my items develop right away and better lighting.

But it does get old. Mafia is another game that required me to go in and change the goddamn config files to unlock the framerate. Just bought Dirt Rally 2.0 but its detecting my DS4 controller wrong and will not let me turn my mother fucking car. I literally cannot play the game i just bought.

And these are just the three games im playing at the moment. I understand his frustration and maybe hes just venting.

I could give you a similar opinion but who gives a shit. I respect that people continue to get enjoyment out of tinkering their settings/hardware and whatnot.
