If I was marketing a console and I knew it was the most powerful one I wouldn't be quiet about it.
Here is Sony being quietly confident.

I think many people wouldnt mind knowing beforehand if you can play a certain game on a certain console. I would be more happy if they say "Coming to Xbox and PC" than not mentioning platforms just so they dont upset people.
I think it would be way better if they say something like "Look, these are our IPs now, our studios, you wont see them anywhere else". But then again, this may be the case once the deal is finished.

Going forward MS wil just say “Coming to gamepass”.

Gamepass will be on everything anyway. MS is going out of its way to make a browser based gamepass just for iOS. MS always dreamed of being apple - they failed - but despite that they’ll still find away to get gamepass on the iOS platform.

You’re going to stop hearing specific platforms mentioned for games over the coming years.

Just imagine this situation. That the XSX ended up having the inferior multiplats after all the marketing about it being the most powerful system.

What do you think would happen?

It's why I don't believe that Sony has the advantage this time around. However I do believe their I/O is better because that's what Sony is bragging about.
No i agree with you. I just mean this rumour about Xbox tools being way behind PS5, it COULD result in some multiplatform games being better on PS5 EARY ON. One the tools matured, i wouldnt expect that.
But i dont believe that anyway like i said, both Sony and Microsoft will know how these games are running on both systems, and Microsoft are still touting 'the most powerful console' so.

The only thing we don't really know is how much more powerful it will be. Will it be a small difference or a massive one?

We have to wait and see what the answer will be.

Well it is the most powerful in TF terms. So there is that.

It would be better at mining than Ps5 as it has more TF.

That is different to saying it runs games better.

Based on Sekiro, 1800p50 to 55, not even close.

Not sure how many times it has to be explained to you, but that is a emulated BC game not taking full advantage of the hardware. Meanwhile in non FUD reality, Gears 5 optimized for the Series X is running at 4k60fps PC ultra settings with additional contact shadows, 50% higher particle count then PC max, and the latest Unreal 4 SSGI. Compared to PC Ultra without all those extra bells and whistles:

It was indeed? And they delivered. But...

Let me chime in here.

Greenburg is a hardcore Xbox fanboy/warrior. He's always going to claim that they have the most powerful system.

I know the website says something different however that doesn't change the fact that the system will be the most powerful one. The paper specs prove it.

But I do agree that we have to wait for the comparisons to really see what the differences will be.

Full advanage again eh, you will be saying that for all of next year. Its a benchmark point, ran by DF, and we have the data.

I do not want to discuss a new optimsiation of gears or whatever it is, as it needs the same benchmarking of the same code.

Sekiro has been benchmarked on PC and XSX using the same game code.

Dog ate my homework sir.

That tweet was well after the Mark Cerny presentation.

I will say that it's odd that they don't use the same messaging everywhere else.

It could be that Greenburg is just a fanboy while the people that run the Xbox site are just being more subtle with their marketing.

That's my guess anyways.

Doesn't mean I don't think the XSX is the most powerful console though.

Real world results aren't in favor to paper sweet talking so far anyway.

They invented DirectX, There is no way they're giving up a 30%+ advantage to Sony!

Well, Xbox isn't helping. PS5 shows actual PS5 gameplay:

Xbox scavenges the footage and uses it as XSX in a misleading way:

would of known this months ago.

Ok this is completely off topic and highly pedantic.
But the past year I have seen this phrase come up more and more often on the internet. Is that slang or an actually grammatically correct phrase? Shouldn't it be "would have known"?

I'm really sorry to be that pedantic, but I need to know :D

Sincerely

a non native English speaker :)

Nope paper specs says that PS5 has the advantage in rendering while Xbox Series X has the advantage in compute.

Ps5 - all work captured from a ps5

XSX - all work captured from a next gen console.

LOL
I mean... They aren't lying lol

Sekiro is not optimized for xbox series x, gears 5 is made from the ground up
It's running at the full power of the Series X, and Gears 5 is absolutely not made from the ground up for it.

I dont know why this is so hard. He's trying to be a politician and getting himself in this mess. You cannot please everyone. Exclusives by definition are meant to be exclusive and him buying Bethesda was a GOOD move for Xbox owners. It might even be a good move for gamers in general because bethesda games have been a generation behind when it comes to graphics and have consistently launched in a buggy state. Maybe the money behind a first party jaggernaut will allow them to launch without bugs and have better graphics.
My guess is him trying not to "rock the boat" too much but at the same time stating the obvious. Sony is in a unique time with mind share, and media heavily skews toward the Leader. This time around MS has the more powerful hardware,a competitive price, and just bought a studio the size of movie studios. they want to play up the strengths and flash the exclusives without pissing off the comically biased industry

That's bullshit. There's no way that Microsoft would brag about having the most powerful system if it wasn't true.

You’re not gonna see a major difference between third-parties, Greenburg is a marketing guy and I obviously wouldn’t expect him or Phil to have any technical knowledge about the Series X/S beyond their TFLOPs number. Their engineers most likely know what the PS5 is capable of, but again, they’re not the ones marketing the product.

I mean they hyped up the Velocity Architecture so much and look what happened as a result of that:

It’s all just marketing talk and PR.

Has AMD released detailed info on RDNA2? Because it’s interesting how both Sony and AMD seem to still be keeping things under wrap, while MS went and showed their arch to the world in extensive detail.

Sekiro isn’t optimized for the 5700XT either.
PC isn't a closed system

You cant speak about RDNA2 secrets and special sauce until after 28th I imagine.

You got my point on Sekiro, thankfully someone can get it.
