Bloodborne Help Needed: Arcane Build

#Phonepunk#

So I've started a new game of Bloodborne and I want to do the arcane build. From the sound of things I should follow the guide here:

Any tips? I've only just started the game and taken out the Cleric Beast. Is there a better, more in-depth guide?

Also, can I get the Logarius's Wheel if i go this route? It's one of the weapons I've never tried and would like to check it out. Or is it a bad idea to use for this build?

Thinks mods influence posters politics. Promoted to QAnon Editor.
I just start a caster and got to about SL40. It was painful, some bosses and mobs don't care about your spells, so you need help or cheese. I think it works better in the late game.

Edit: Sorry I was playing DS3, got confused :)

I'd suggest Stake Driver + fire gems and then R2 charge everything.

Logarius wheel is great for arcane builds imo, but it does require some investment in strength.

I feel like the wheel in trick mode is great for pvp too.

nice yeah i want to get that wheel. this means i need to make an early trip to Cainhurst?

trying to figure out the order to do all this. after Father i need to head to Blood Starved Beast then Cainhurst? then i can get the wheel?

Every weapon can be obtained in the chalices. tbh if I want a specific weapon build nowadays I make a beeline to bloodstarved beast then clip through the chalices until I get what I need.

Logs wheel is terrible for arcane. Its split damage type and at the same time you dont benefit a whole lot with the arcane pts spent into it. However if you still wanna use it you should slot it with flat arcane gems.

Other good arcane weapons are ludwig sword, lost holy moonlight sword, or any serrated weapons with fire gems.

The Logarius Wheel with Flamesprayer combo will wreck everything until you can get the Moonlight Greatsword. Very different feeling combo which makes an Arcane build so fun to play with!

so how exactly do i get the wheel? what are the minimum steps to obtain?

seems like:
- take out Blood Starved Beast
- take out Amelia go to Forbidden Woods to get to the backdoor to Iosefka w the Cainhurst Summons
- go via Hemwick Charnel Lane to Cainhurst Castle
- get the Unopened Summons from Cainhurst
- give these to Alfred, who is before the Password door to Forbidden woods

is all this correct? is there anything i should avoid doing in order to keep Alfred at the right place?

Is arcane even a viable build? Never had much luck with it. Threaded Cane all day long for me.

Isn't the trick mode of the wheel entirely arcane though? Good suggestion with the gems.

The frame rate gives me a bit of a headache but man I love Bloodborne
Have you tried it on PS4Pro with boost mode on? Not perfect, but so much better than the base ps4.

In my first time playing going to arcane build, I tried using the eltric mace. Pretty handy dealing with most of bosses.

Woah so after I killed Father G. I took some time to farm equipment in the sewers. I was trying to get the Flamesprayer but it wouldn’t give it to me for some reason.

Then I went into Cathedral Ward and activated that cutscene. After this they gave me the Flamesprayer right away when I warped to Central Yarnham.

Also I noticed that since I went into Cathedral Wars it seems like the visuals have changed dramatically! The game is now using higher contrast and the colors seem to be much more saturated than before. Or am I imagining this? Lol

Yes trick mode is arcane damage but the scaling isnt that great. The damage itself is ridiculous thats why you want flat arcane damage on it. The wheel is much more useful in strength builds.

I usually do bolt Ludwig + fire pizza cutter + arcane Ludwig on arcane. Serrated fire is the best for beasts and bolt thrust dmg for kin. The arcane Ludwig is for general use, other enemy types (one is lost or uncanny, can't remember which allows better gems).

Can't wait for ps5 to be out to bring new life to the game (via instant collection).

ive got 24 Arcane now, at the Great Bridge. ahhhh feels so good to be back in BB.

i can't wait to play this in 4k. it is obvious the resolution has held this game back. all the harsh angles of the gothic architecture. a 4k upgrade will be like playing a whole new game.

Loved my ludwig build in this, blew my mind that you get the Ludwig sword...makes you think of a famous ludwig, ludwig van...who composed the moonlight sonata...and the ludwig transforms into the moonlight gs omg omg twilight zone theme MINDBLOWN.gif

I played an Arcane build use Ludwigs Holy Blade for a weapon. IMO it is one of the few viable weapons unless you are going for ranged only which will be very difficult.

off topic here..but bloodborne was my first souls game....it is one of the best games i have ever played in my life

By many, it's considered the best Souls game ever made. IMHO I prefer Demon's Soul's atmosphere to any Souls game. But Demon's Souls/BB are one of my two favorite games of all time!

It is and I replay many times trying new builds too! I got addicted to watching "Let's plays" for Bloodborne. In some ways it's like I'm experiencing it for the first time with them!

Jealous of people who are playing this for the first time. It’s an experience that is so unique and incredible...I don’t think it’ll ever be replicated.

I remember when I arrived at Cainhurst on my first playthrough. I realized that I was playing one of the best games ever. And this was before shit started getting REALLY crazy.

yeah Cainhurst is beautiful. but imo Cathedral Ward is one of the most beautiful places in all of gaming.

the art design in this game is insane. so many areas feel like they were ripped out of a very detailed dream.

I can’t disagree with you, because there are so many incredible areas. Take your pick, they’re all awesome. Upper Cathedral Ward was unnerving af.

Cainhurst was special for me because it was so unexpected. I was using the threaded cane so it felt like I was playing castlevania.

The art design is indeed sick. It’s all a Lovecraftian nightmare and it’s amazing.

Haven’t played it in a year. Going to have to tonight.

So I’m taking down Bloodstarved Beast right now. Then I think it’ll be Amelia. After that can I just kill Alfred to get the Wheel Badge? Or do I need to go to Cainhurst early?

u dont need to go there early i think.............if he is in cathedral ward before the entrance to the forbidden forest.....there u can kill him to get the badge........he is very tough to beat by the way

Well fuck I got the key to the plaza and on the way to Amelia I went to the password door and found the guy dead. Did I miss my chance to get the wheel?

Ive been looking everyone online for a step by step guide how to get this fucking wheel and there is nothing

Why these games gotta be so damn obtuse?

Don't kill Alfred before his story line is complete! His final encounter is one of the coolest things in the game and you get the neatest helm that way as well. And you don't even need to kill him to get his stuff...

i didn't kill him, dude was dead the first time i went down to the password door

really i just want to know what i did wrong. did i kill BSB too early?

if i have to start a new game that is fine. i'd rather do this than get it in the dungeons, if possible

i just need to know what to do, in what order, to get that wheel

do i have to run straight to Cainhurst after getting to Cathedral Ward? do i need to do the Iosefka skip? lol i feel utterly lost

You have to acquire the ”Unopened Summons” in Cainhurst castle on a table to the right side of the Vileblood Queen. If you spoke to Alfred in Cathedral Ward, he moves near the entrance to the Forbidden Woods (near the password door). Give Alfred the Unopened Summons and he’ll give you the Wheel Badge. You then purchase the Lugarius Wheel from the fountain shop near the workshop!

It can be, but it's slightly more difficult to pull off than other builds because a lot of the good Arcane gems, whether they be straight Arcane, Fire, or Bolt, aren't found until later in the game or later Chalice Dungeons.

The Old Hunters is also a must to make the most out of an arcane build.
