Controller hype intensifies.

He’s talking about Astro’s playroom and no it is not as much as the Dualsense itself but the fantastic utilization ASOBI team. Which make sense because it is a pre-loaded free game with DSense as the focus. The question is if devs outside Sony care to put the extra effort to support it when they have other platforms to develop for.

While I'm not spanish, my spanish chops are ok. Happy to translate what the interviews say, with proper context. First, the one that says Demon Souls has no Ray Tracing

Translation

This does lead to believe that there is no Ray Tracing on the game, contradicting previous statements and Sony themselves. Now, the interesting bit as that another "interview" from the day before completely contradicts this.

Translation

This one shows that there is Ray Traced global illumination, from my understanding of what he said.
My guess: They asked if there was RT on the perfomance mode and he said no. Definitely something was lost in translation when asking Gavin.

I have so many packages on order, I am starting to get concerned about porch gremlins and post
I believe thats why the Nov 6th target date of embargos we have heard Sony knows things will leak.

Even if I had one right now and online play wasnt working right now and was only able to mainly play Astros and waiting on some next gen patches and able to play some games in boost mode that was turning older games into a whole brand new experience while it being virtually silent and insanely fast I wouldnt be able to openly say due to a promise I made.

I will have some impressions coming on Friday though
I think I better go spike my coffee...

Your guess is wrong. I talked with the author and told me the question they asked is the one in the article. They had the answer in english and just translated that to spanish. You can read the answer in english below, maybe that's more clear to you

The overwhelming majority of games coming out on the system use controller features. It's easy to implement, devs love it, people will love it... PS5 will also be the best selling consoles.
We could all be wrong but I just don't the majority of devs skipping on those features, in fact I think it will be popular and MS will end up releasing a new updated controller.

I’m guessing the haptics will be handled by the audio team of studios, which is nice as they went from battling for a fraction of a CPU core to having their own processor and now being able to really impact the gameplay with 3D Audio and haptics. I think they want to use it, even if it gives a little more work (not much as we know haptics can be generated automatically and are easy to implement) because they want to set their game apart from the competition. A racing game, like DiRT 5, want the haptics to be there so it has more appeal than another racing game on PS5 (which will probably be where the majority of sales is).

Sorry if old.

Has it been said yet if PS4 games via BC will have a form of rumble that aren't patched?

They'll play as PS4 games and Sony recommends using DualShock 4s for old PS4 games.

Idk what the DualSense would do for feedback in that case.

Might need to stop sniffing glue
My impressions after receiving a Dualsense Controller:

I eagerly opened the outer sleeve and slid out the inner box. As I removed controller in its sleeve and the the controller from the sleeve, I couldn’t wait to use it. After a while of what could only be appropriately described within the context of an adult novel, I put the controller down on to a controller stand.

I can definitely, without a doubt say that it is indeed... a controller.

DS is the best feature of the PS5.
I envy it.
Hope Microsoft will put something similar in the next controller revision, if developer start to target it across the board.

No shame in copying good stuff.
But regular rumble sucks. I have that off.

Are you excited for the Haptics? I've noticed you said you don't like rumble.

Any filters & BC options like with the OG PS3 when playing PS2 & PS1 ?

Being that PS5 CPU & GPU is over 2X (Almost 3X for the GPU) the clock of PS4 & 2.5X the memory bandwidth a few off & on switches should be fun & if it break a game just turn it off.

It's definitely another huge difference between the consoles and i am sure Microsoft will want to emulate this, steal ideas from it down the line.

imagine Mum and little billy down at a local shop trying out the two consoles, first, they see games load in the blink of an eye then they feel the new controller in their hands.

These kind of visual and hands on experiences are worth their weight in gold when trying to sell a product to someone that does not have a console preference.

Can not overstate how big this controller is for Sony and their push to dominate this generation.

Gawd i was literally searching for this to show it to someone who explained to me that global illumination isn't ray tracing usage in the demon's souls isn't having ray tracing thread.
There are many different realtime global illumination techniques and they can be implemented in different ways. You can use the hardware accelerated raytracing the consoles support, but it is not a requirement and you can also do it with different techniques. For example Unreal Engine 5's Lumen does use a different technique and looks fine.

Probably because rumble is nowhere near as accurate as Haptics. With my experience you only get a few levels of vibrations and thats it. Alot of the times rumble doesn't match with what's going on in the game.

Analogue vs digital. Arbitrary vs precise.

They really are completely different things - which people will understand once they got one in their hands and working at it's full potential.

Controller hype intensifies.

https://www.neogaf.com/threads/micr...switch-are-going-to-walk-all-over-it.1535475/

They want to use the Xbox One & PC as a crutch in case Xbox Series X don't sell enough to support the developers which is a smart move but Xbox Series X also need it's own identity outside of just having a new tower design.

When it's time for the commercials & Sony have people in ads faking like the touch sensors in the DualSense have changed their life Xbox Series X can't really counter that.

Improved battery life confirmation. Nice.

I never knew gamers put that much weight into next gen based on a controller.

People who have it have hyped the new features up a ton. Maybe thats why?

Controllers have always been one of the most important parts of console gaming next to the games

The Wii was basically a Gamecube with a new controller & it sold 4X better than the Gamecube , PS1 came to life when the DualShock was released , Frist Person Shooters took over consoles when triggers & analog sticks was added to the controllers.
