FYQD-Studio is prepping Bright Memory Infinite for PC and Xbox Series X/S. But before that, publisher Playism is releasing Bright Memory today for Microsoft’s next-gen consoles. It will be available for $7.99 via the Microsoft Store – check out the launch trailer below.

As for Bright Memory Infinite, it’s essentially a full-fledged game with Sheila still serving as the protagonist. Currently, it’s slated to release in 2021 for PC and Xbox Series X/S with owners of Bright Memory on the former receiving a free upgrade to the full version.

This game is $7 .. 7!

Right? Weird, the final game is going to be only $8? The Steam version has been available forever and has said the $9.99 would go towards the final game, but that first price was set back when Bright Memory was going to be episodic, so is Bright Memory Infinite now also going to be episodic? Or just $8?

I feel like Playism could have given this "chapter" away as a teaser for the full game, since it's an aged version of the project and the designer has totally elevated his profile already by being part of the console unveiling program. Bright Memory has already been on the market almost a year now. That said, the price of this chapter/product being your ticket into the final BMI mostly negates the price; they just need to avoid concerns about how fulfilling a slice of play this is and what the future of your purchase means.

If this was anywhere near as graphically impressive as Infinite, I’d hop on immediately.
Judging from the trailer, not so much.

Any word on a PS5 release?

Bright Memory Infinite was first going to be on PS4/Xbox One (somehow) and PC, then Xbox Series X came along where this game got a showcase slot and I'm pretty sure the developer didn't speak of PS4 or the One again. So, I don't think those are happening and the project probably went Xbox-exclusive?

Also, did anybody buy Bright Memory? I read the reviews, and they are... interesting. Like, apparently this is such a PC port-over that the game still has a V-Sync toggle on the menu in addition to all the texture/shadow/performance toggles (and apparently V-Sync is set to off by default, so make sure to flip that before you play...)

I'll give this a try. the infinite trailer peaked my interest and this was developed by one person.. for 8 bucks to help support future development, why not.

It does indeed look like a straight pc port in the menus, and I couldn't find a way to scroll down through the options

I am stuck 15-20 minutes in. How do you wall run in this game?

Cores, shaders and BIOS oh my!
Look at all dat pop in. First super evident on the first monster after the wolves, then I skimmed the video and it's crazy bad after the cave bit. Game doesn't look as exciting as past videos from it either. Maybe cos it's the intro parts and not after you're left alone to actually play through it, I dunno.

Good, this might be the first game I play once I get my Series X this Saturday, might as well be after a helpful patch.

Can't wait!
