Playstation 5 |LAUNCH OT| No limits

Is it just my imagination or is there a shiny plastic film to remove from the PS5’s front? I work in IT, so I see these all the time. I just don’t don’t want to start to peel at something that isn’t there.

My box came like this. Nothing inside was damaged thankfully. Anyone else's box come like this?

I really like the way the trigger rumbles while firing in COD, but what I may not be liking as much is how hard you have to press down on L2 to start aiming down the sights.

I played for like 3+ hours earlier and my damn fingers felt like they just got done with a workout. People who play major sessions every day are totally going to turn this off. I kinda don't understand why they make it so hard to push the left trigger anyway. To simulate lifting the gun up? Kinda makes no sense.

It's most likely coil whine. This is something that has already been plaguing PS4 Pros (I went through almost a dozen to find one without it, never had any luck).

It's nothing you need to worry about if it isn't too bad. It's a warranty case when it's really loud, though.
Honestly how much would we have to pay Sony for a genuinely quiet machine? This comes off as snarky, but it’s frustrating and why I’m waiting for the Ps5 revision. Make no mistake those bastards will get my money, but not with this iteration of the hardware.

Try playing with the settings. Turn it down to 50%. See how you go. If that’s too much. Dump it down to 25%. You’ve got it at Max. It’s like having your tv at Max. looks good in the shop. Hard to watch

There was an option for the vibration to turn it down in increments, but the actual trigger feature was either on or off. I would have preferred to only turn them down. Or even better, make it so L2 doesn't require so much force every time you ADS.

Unless you meant in the actual PS5 settings. I kinda don't want to change that as I like it elsewhere.

Try resetting your modem or router. Make sure your firewall isn't messing with the ps5. Make sure your settings are proper on the ps5. Try standard things like that first.

I always turn off the firewall in the router and even PC. Even tried using PC for a couple of years without an anti-virus. I'm using NOD32 (ESET Internet Security) now, and it has game mode for PC gamers out there. It's very light and feels like it's not even there. Been using NOD32 since mid 2000's after Norton BS and Kaspersky.

If I'm not much into MP games, and very rarely do party chats, would the dualsense mic be enough for me?
(so I can just use a good headset without mic and not need to invest in a gaming/pulse headset?)

I'm more concerned about the dualsense mic picking up a lot of ambient noises)

Revision will be the same noise level wise. Pro started out quiet and transformed into literal jet engine.

Fffffffff
No money
No preorder
No time

But all the launch games look great.

This would be a perfect paternity leave gift though.

Hey guys is it safe to do this? Use the ps5 as a headset stand while it's turned off? I don't think it's too tight and the earpads are soft as well, but what do u think

The earphones are fine. Everyone however will instead focus on the wires on the table and all they will think about is spaghetti everywhere.

What has your wife done to you, take back some man space in there. Add in a dildo or something to make it a bit more manly.

Remove dildo concept and replace with plastic explosives. Fixed.

Don’t think about what others say. Lol. I’ve got a Lego room in our 1 bedroom condo.

Appreciate it. Does it get louder over time or kinda stay the same?

Steam adds support for the DualSense PS5 Controller. Advanced features such as rumble, trackpad, and gyro are not yet supported.

Coil whine can get worse depending on the part that produces it. However, that may take years. It will get more audible with higher power draw, though. You may hear it louder when playing a game at 60 or 120fps at 4k.

This guy here demonstrates it well with TLOU Remastered on a PS4 Pro, a game that produces terrible coil whine with the 4k/60 mode (he's got the mic close to the unit hence it's so loud)

Judging by how common this was on PS4/Pro and more and more PS5 reports popping up , I'd say that this is a QA issue that Sony hasn't bothered improving, yet. It's a shame.

who is addicted to skating in Astro’s playroom? It feels so nice. I find myself jumping into that level to skate around a bit and feel satisfied.

Time to order one of these bad boys.

Ok I'll definitely buy one today then. It's about time I upgraded from my Xbox One controller.

No issues so far with mine.

Played some Spider-Man Remastered and it's gorgeous. The ray traced window reflections are mind blowing. You can see your tiny reflection in a building window from a block away. Insane.

My son played Astro and that looks great as well.

Finally, and most importantly: Demon's Souls. Holy crap. This is beyond the hype and I'm a big Demon's Souls fan. Looks stunning. Next gen is here. Even just the character creator puts any Souls game to shame. I'm going to be playing this for a long time.

Just had my first issue. About 2 hours into Spider-Man Remastered and I was standing on a building just panning the camera and when I got to the sun the camera started slowing down and then game froze. I could still hit PS button and go to main menu and everything else seemed fine. Closed game down and it went to a black screen for a few seconds, then an error submission form popped up. I submitted that no problem.

Played the game again later and it didn't happen again. A simple game lock up isn't the end of the world, but I'm keeping my eye on things.

So far I haven't had any issues. Worth mentioning though is I'm being extra pro active in regards to preventing crashed and issues
Yeah, I really never like getting consoles shipped, but with the pandemic it was unavoidable. Not sure if the damage came during shipping or the warehouse. Sometimes it's either or. The way they're stacked in boxes and shipped out to the warehouses.

Had my Astros Playroom crash on me on the very first area. Hope that isn't a sign. Crossing my fingers it doesn't happen again.

Anyone here have any games crash?

Astro's Playroom question... When you're a monkey, how do you get past the crumbling rocks?? It breaks as soon as I touch it. There must be a way because in the speed run level you need to get past them and I can't find a way!

Pull the trigger very gently.

Mine’s so quiet I forgot I had one.

That's exactly how mine came. Fucking ridiculous

Mine too. Exactly like that and I picked mine up from Best Buy. I wonder if it has to do with the "Eco-friendly" packaging Sony touted. It feels thinner than normal cardboard and is probably more susceptible to damage. Fortunately there's a sturdier interior box and mine was undamaged.
