I bet they have to be so careful what ammunition they give youtubers/fanboys in the terms of patch notes there probably like "fuck it, just call it stability".

Patch notes from Japanese companies are fucking pathetic really. I know "stability" is a meme but I honestly don't see any humor in it anymore.

They probably think half the crashes are from extremly rate edge cases that 99% of us would never experience. And while they would be right, who fucking cares? Just spell them out.

That’s their best translation from the super technical programming jargon.

For example, there is no way we would be able to interpret: “Fixed known issues related to games crashing”

While I agree there are a lot of crashes that I'm sure are legitimately impossible to tie into standard functional behavior that a laymen would understand, are you telling me this accounts for dozens and dozens of patches across Sony and Nintendo and all the other Japanese companies? Bullshit. One or two, or three I could buy. But dozens of them over many years? Bullshit.

Pre-patch never had an issue. 10 minutes into post-patch and I just got an OS level crash.

So heads up, when I got the crash, I had Cold War on standby. The servers just went down for the game so these two could be related and perhaps not related to the patch itself. Will advise if it happens again.

I don’t think my sarcasm came across very well.

It’s just a case of company culture having programmus documentationitis.

Guessing you have a disc inserted? Cuz I have yet to hear my Disc edition PS5.... but I have also yet to use a disc in it.
thats correct. it spins really loud for around 40 seconds after boot up. and then again for a few seconds after i boot up the game.

yesterday it started spinning in the middle of the game. im hearing coil whine too. :(

That sure sounds like a lovely experience at each boot. Hope its either not widespread or quickly remedied. Innocuous stuff like that really bothers me over time. Just like a beep of a dying smoke detector. You barley hear it.... but god damn do you hear it!

I wish they would include more information. I've been avoiding my external drive for now. Did they improve that? The only way I can know with these notes is to test it myself and risk running into issues.

I get drive spin-up on boot as well. It’s not a big deal at all, but obviously would be nicer without it.

thinks Halo Infinite is a new graphical benchmark
SONY gets a tone of credit for building updates, I sorta go into consoles expecting them to already be established updates just seems very PC.
