I think the biggest difference is in PS5's image reconstruction.

Whenever I looked at the Sony statements, they never mention XBox at all, just as it does not even exist and doesn't matter for them.
Why should Sony talk about Xbox in their marketing for PS5?

I just find Sony marketed way better PS5 than Xbox the Series since 2019 when Sony started to talk about PS5.

MS focused in computer specs big numbers to marketing it console while Sony focused in experiences, games and news ways of play.

Even the Cerny interviews were about to how reach the better and/or better ways to experience and play games.

It was always about games and gamers.

Man, this looks better than anything shown from multiplats graphically for next gen! Sony is just so overpowered, and this is without any upgrades! The final image quality so so much better than my experience with the Pro, and it looks so clean as if it's native 4K! Actually this shows that checkerboard rendering is still relevent even now but HW wasn't powerful enough to boost it all the way to 4K to make the difference between checkerboard 4K and native 4K pretty minimal. Crazy!

This really shows that the direct feed photos from PS4 Pro weren't misleading at all, they just didn't get enough power to push that high. Man, I wanna see TLOU2, Uncharted 4 now! AC Valhalla and Watch Dogs Legions look so much like a pile of crap in comparison, add CyberPunk 2077 as well!

Wait is that why we’ve been seeing those little artifacts when zooming in on a checkerboard rendered image? If the hardware’s faster than the PS4 Pro when it comes to outputting a 4K image every frame, you wouldn’t see artifacts would you?

I’m just trying to understand the difference between temporal upsampling and checkerboarded rendering here, cause with CB rendering, DF were able to tell what the native resolution was in certain instances (Ghost of Tsushima 2018 E3 demo). But with the UE5 demo, the output was always 4K even though it was natively rendering at 1440p most of the time but they said they couldn’t even find any signs of upsampling and that it looks exactly like a native 4K output.

Man seriously wtf is going on with Microsoft, all that fucking pr, this has been disaster after disaster for them.

Their machine is 2 tflops more, imagine being a fan and seeing this after all their bullshit peddling.

I would be livid at Phil spencer, i mean remember that poll a month back with " are you happy with xbox and the job phil spencer is doing?"

Everything is better on the ps5, games, controller, loading, the only thing Microsoft has a edge in is BC.


I think its time to run that Poll again lol.

Yes, I thought first it was checkerboarding being just not good enough, yet again you see the full glory of those graphics and what they are meant to be on PS5 now! That combined with PS5's new image reconstruction will make things pretty hard for DF to count resolution on 1st party games. I see those artifacts in most of PS4 Pro most demanding 1st party games. Now it's crystal clear on PS5! Crazy.

One thing i can't understand, please help me. If Object density has been decreased, even by accident, that should mean the console has more power to put towards resolution or FPS right? but as you can all see Object density, resolution AND FPS are all lower than PS5, at the start quick frequently XSX FPS is 5fps lower than PS5, thats not a little. If they fixed this 'bug' and object density became the same level as PS5 then wouldn't the resolution be even lower than PS5 as now the system is under even more load?, unless FPS was deliberately capped and resolution was also capped which is not the case as DRS tries to increase resolution to as much as the system can handle that's why we all get these nice boosts playing old console games on the newer consoles.

yer something must be up, there is no way it can be such a massive difference like this, but saying that i remember the dirt interviewer podcast with dealer, he said most of the tools had already been shipped, it was only minor things, these things don't look like minor differences to me. They are Gigantic.

I am beginning to feel sorry for xbox, this is blow after blow, but that's for the fans, Phil spencer and greenbug, dealer,eastwood, timdog and a few on this forum deserve it.
 


this is hilarious. i'm glad my eyes didn't cheat on me. cuz i did notice that PS5 version looks a lot better for some reason. I didn't want to say it because it will definitely trigger a lot of people. I'm glad DF did this video. but the damage control they trying to do is a new level. The case is closed. PS5 is the best place for multiplats.

Btw, i also found it fishy when the dev said they just need to spend a bit more time optimizing for one console in an interview. Because the question was worded in a way implying ps5 is weaker but the response was very vague. I guess they actually ended up tweaking the xsx and xss. oh, man, it made my day.

So much excuses for the SX version from DF. Strange how they don’t apply for the better looking and performing PS5 version. Whatever struggle and limitations developers had during these months is the same for PS5 too. Yet here we are.
Yea if object detail was lower on XSX even as a bug then surely the FPS or resolution should have been higher than the PS5, but neither was.

There is something very wrong with those "Xbox Series X enhanced" games.

Except for the lack of raytracing Whatchdogs looks better on Xbox One X than Xbox Series X.

I took the following pics, and the aliasing and blurrines on the Series X makes no sense.

The Xbox series X, just looks lower resolution and more jaggied than the Xbox One X, it makes no fucking sense.

Listen fucking carefully here, if XSX was using V-Sync, the performance would be even worse, and the delta will be larger in favor of PS5: (timestamped)




Overall delta even with Xbox consoles having no V-Sync support and enjoying a festival of tearing:

I wish he had shown those tear-drops on the XSX. Both looked similar, yet he strangely dropped this line that makes no fucking reason. IQ is the same, as with the assets .. and if the XSX has way more tear-drops ... how can it have a better IQ? I don´t get it.
