Just be real. Guys like that are exactly the same as this Tom guy you all love to hate. Only difference is that one is doing his actual job and the other is just an attention whore.
lol. You're a big Xbox fanboy so your post doesn't surprise me at all.

Tom was wrong about the CPU being better on the XsS than the PS5.
Tom was wrong about the real performance of the PS5 being at 9TF.

It's not his job to post false information.

Matt on the other hand knows the RDNA 2 features and knows what's actually inside of the PS5 and calls out the misleading BS from Microsoft, which many of us caught on to.

If PS5 has equivalent features then yes, MS was misleading with heir BS again.

Any truth to the rumor one of the ps5 ram modules isnt covered by heatsink and could give issues in warmer states? I thought the heatsink covered all relevant chips.

See the paste on them. They are cooled from the other side of the motherboard but not directly through the main heatsink.

The simple fact that some people can't see the vast difference between Matt and Tom when it comes to technical discussion just proves how deep brand loyalty is embedded and that console wars will never die.

In the meantime, Treyarch has provided some recommendations that should help people avoid it for the time being. Firstly, avoid accidentally downloading the Xbox One version, as mentioned earlier. Second, disable ray-tracing. Though the feature has been one of the new generation's biggest selling points, it has been reported that turning it off has helped players mitigate crashing issues. Not to mention, ray-tracing appears to cause other problems as well, like making online matches very laggy.

Yeah the PS5 RAM is in the other side of the board. The SoC and the heatsink are on one side, but the RAM is on the backside of the board. Thats why Gamers Nexus found the PS5 RAM gets so hot.

Sony did this with the PS4 and PS4 Pro as well, shouldn't be an issue.

But devs had final PS5 devs kits for 5 yeaaars¡¡¡¡ :goog_eek::goog_eek:

Well I think a testkit is a debug, which is not quite the same as a full devkit. He's saying the debug unit wasn't as nice as the real devkit (the crazy v-shaped thing everyone has seen.) PS testkits usually just look somewhat like retail consoles.

I assume devs get devkits first, then testkits come later closer to launch to be given/used by more people who can't be given devkits. QA testers, media, etc.

ALLM isn't really anything special. It just makes sure the TV is in its game mode. Full-array local-dimming sets usually suffer from game mode. This is due to image processing being cut down in order to prioritize input lag. This typically means full-array sets lose out on contrast. Some manufactures do it better than others. Sony has usually done well in game mode and I know Samsung has made some firmware updates that improve their image quality in game mode. OLED doesn't suffer in image quality while in game mode due to the self-emitting nature. The potential for burn-in is a whole other story. Just make sure you're doing research before you buy.

I bought Q9FN last year and I am very happy with it. What's interesting is the difference between base ps4 normal mode vs game mode is very small but on 4k60fps content from PS5 I'm seeing bigger difference. Anyway tv got 20ms lag on normal mode and 12 ms lag on game mode so both are perfectly valid for gaming.

My only concern is lacking of 2.1 HDMI but as far as I know beside VRR there's nothing really important for me. I got monitor with free sync and it really works good for those sub-60 fps drops, but if fps goes below 55 it is still noticeable.

Another great thread from LeviathanGamer on next-gen advancements, these according to him will be one of the biggest leaps we've seen in 3D graphics. I highly recommend giving it a read although there is some really technical stuff in there, he also used the Playstation as an example and how these technologies are going to evolve with the PS5. Here are some tweets worth sharing.

EDIT: converted the thread into a single page for an easy read, here you go.

33/35 this is the best scenario that could have happened. The source from where he knows that would be good.

Then why the fuck did you circle the SSD slot 😂😂

I didn't. Grabbed that from google just to talk about RAM's cooling.

Because he assumed that people with average intelligence can undertand that it is screenshot from some random video about SSD slot, but it ALSO shows memory chips and some thermal paste on them, to point out that they are indeed, cooled.

But this is just speculation

If you have a Q9FN 2018, the VRR normally will work fine at 4k60. The only drawback is the minimum frequency of 48Hz (for others resolutions 20 to 120Hz). It works fine with the series X, it normally should be the same with the PS5 updated.

Sounds like exactly what a big Sony fanboy would say.

If anything i expect it to perform worse due to enabling vsync, maybe letting the res drop lower in heavy scenes.

Maybe they fixes it without sync somehow, ps5 acv already don't have tearing without using vsync so they'll apply same tech for XSX

LeviathanGamer is a hardware/software engineer or whatever, it's his job to know about this stuff so I would consider himself a "source". He's also friends with many developers as well so I'm sure he knows a lot about the actual gaming hardware.

Don't worry FOX, that rumor has been so consistent and coming from so many people, it must be true.....Both Silent Hills and Metal Gear Solid....
Yup, I was just about to say the same thing.

Although as some of you already know I'm always skeptical of MLiD and his "sources", but the MSG rumour has been leaked by a few people now so I would consider it very plausible.

My friend has a deadzone where his avr and PS5 is located in another room about 20ft. His PS5 is in vented cabinet behind a stone fireplace. Are there any possible solutions for this. I was thinking he could look into modding the ps5 with external antenna. Is there a breakdown presently which actually differentiates which wire cable is which?

Use the PS5 official thread.
