PS5 system update available - 868MB v20.02-2.26

I wanted a stability update!

I wonder if it fixes what seems to be I/O issues in COD.
It's time for my coffee, no beer yet!

So can i now download games while playing and put it into rest mode? You know, like it was designed to do.
Still have some issues with the update. The PS5 can't find some games and I need to delete and redownload games. The OS is buggy AF.

I've been using rest mode since day 1. Stop listening to FUD from technically illiterate people on social media who make up causes for issues they don't know how to troubleshoot.

Spider-Man: Remastered had a crash that was caused by rest mode, but that was extrapolated by idiots spreading FUD online to "REST MODE BRICKS SYSTEMS!"

Hype Train conductor. Works harder than it steams.
Have they fixed the fact that the Playstation Camera mic(and I imagine to he same applies for the HD Camera too) is now useless outside VR as it can't be used for chat.

The ps5 sounds very buggy from reading the comments on this thread. The fanatics seemed to have hidden all these issues with their mocking of anyone willing to mention such issues.

I've been using my PS5 for 5 days, no issues for now.

Not being able to recharge the controller while in rest mode was pretty bothersome, I'm glad they fixed it.

Been doing that since day 1 - no issues. Not that you have a PS5 to be so concerned.
haha what? I think i was potentially first person from UK on this forum to get one. Idiot post

The one and only time I tried rest mode since getting the system, it shut off about 3 hours in and wouldn't turn on. I got it back on and it went to the black screen problem. I thought it was bricked. Luckily it wasn't, but now that we're 2 firmware updates in, I'm trying rest mode again.

We can't really deny that the OS is pretty buggy atm.

No the OS is buggy as hell, which is funny because people trashed MS for not "believing in generations" and just slightly updating the existing Xbox OS. But 95% of the BS people claim is "bricking" PS5s (like using Ethernet instead of WiFi) is just FUD.

I was impressed until I rewind and so him push it down to what it seems a sticky surface. Still amazing back then!

Still getting error CE-108255-1 playing Battlefield 4 online.Platinumed Astro's Playroom with no issues.Last couple of months,BF4 crashed on PS4 Pro very constantly,do not remember error number. But redownload dont help.No other issues on PS5,no black screen,no system crashes,no "rebuild database" message(even on older FW),just app error.Noticed that, on update process,in last percentage,"rebuild database" bar appears for a second.Anyone with similar experience?

Here’s a weird glitch I’m facing. Have anyone of you run into. So if I’m playing a game that’s digital copy and say if this game is being played while a new game disc is inserted, I get this icon in the current active games ui that a disc has been inserted and it boots me out of the game to the os ui showing me the disc game is ready. It shouldn’t do this right? How can I take me out of the game I’m already playing which is a digital gsme and has nothing to do with the physical media

So for me since Day 1 launch and I had no issues except the controller not charging by front USB so moved it to the back and problem solved.

But now for the first time yesterday I had always been using rest mode, I decided to turn it off and then back on.. I have an external HDD plugged in, it did the repair storage, hanging black screen, forced into rest, started and then shut back down again, had to repeat process and then it was fine.

Then last night I went to put my Crash Bandicoot 4: Its about time disc in and it straight up comes up with the message cannot start game or app. Tried all different other PS4 games on disc and work fine.

I have now just updated the system firmware but have not tried it again, hopefully it has fixed that issue.

Right, that’s why you don’t have one right now. Hahaha

I had the option to pre order at the exact same time as my friend who ordered 2 and his turned up last week.

Absolutely everything gadget wise is black in my home so zero chance of me have a huge white thing at the side of my TV.

Reporting that post update both PS5’s had Apex disappear from library view and not visible in storage menu. Attempting to redownload had it market as installed with no ability to play or redownload. 🤔

Remedy was to disconnect extended storage. This allowed for the game to be downloaded into ssd. Upon plugging in extended, the consoles recognised duplicate and offered to delete a version. Option to delete extended version fixed the matter.

Hopefully this was a hangover of prior firmware bugs, and no risk of happening again.

After updatig firmware i have played Miles Morales and finished, during the credits my ps5 freezes for 10 seconds after it starts flashing blue and then goes out.

For a few seconds it did not turn on again so I unplugged the power cord and waited a few seconds and then put it back on and it started again.

The funny thing is the error code is su-101495-0 and the description said " the system software had just been installed ".

Before this episode I had another one but the console was in the dashboard without doing anything but I had an external hard drive and I thought it was for this reason.

The PS5 doesn't seem to force this update, so might be better to hold off if everything has been working well since launch. I was able to play Demon's Souls perfectly fine tonight without installing it.

It’s pretty much my only complaint so far, that I think the OS/firmware are still in beta.
Agreed...the ui itself is fast and snappy but it feels like they have simply tacked on extra menus onto the ps4 ui as its very busy
and you cant do simple things like go into rest mode or closing a game by holding the ps button

The menus are also jumbled up.....why is the system performance preferences under the saved data section??
Its also missing a number of basic functions like folders and the ability to use external drives (and the nvme slot)

The series x Ui may cop some shit for not doing anything different but its actually much faster and the functions they have added work seamlessly in that environment that you are familiar with

I got the physical ps5. But I don’t think I will ever put a ps4 game in my console. Hell I may never put a ps5 disc in console

I got mine yesterday, updated and rest mode + downloads worked normally
