Xbox Boss Praises PS5’s DualSense, Says Companies Should Learn From Each Other (Hendrick's, GET ITT!!!™)

I'm just surprised that Microsoft didn't implement gyro sensors in their controllers yet. They usually develop RTS games like Halo Wars and AoE. These games would be a lot easier to implement on console with gyro sensors in the Xbox controllers.
Man, I would love to try that.

Dualsense is a huge upgrade from the ds4, which feels like it’ll snap in two every time that I hold it. The triggers got annoying really quick though.

Microsoft executive Phil Spencer has said that he “applauds” Sony for how it has revamped its controller for the PlayStation 5, and said that the games industry needs to push innovation where possible.

In an interview with The Verge, Spencer added that companies should learn from each other, similar to how Sony and Microsoft attempted Move and Kinect, respectively, following Nintendo Wii’s success.

Absolutely not. I applaud Phil for giving credit where credit is due, and not being a hater. Look in the mirror OP. It’s ok, we all love videogames. No need to always be stanning. Enjoy gaming my friend!

The PS5 records a little clip whenever you get a trophy and if the mic is on it will also record your voice, I think it's a nice feature so you can go back and hear your reactions to getting a trophy that might have given you some trouble. I can see people not liking it but I find it kind of cool.

I hate that so much and it will be turned off immediately :messenger_tears_of_joy:

It’s a genuine question, because I’ve never understood the love for asymmetrical or the difficulty to adapt from one controller to another. It just seems like fanboyism masquerading as objective fact. Xbox owners should be pushing for a Wii U pro stick set up, if really and truly their thumbs are more comfortable in that position

AMEN.

IMO both PS and XB solutions are bad, since games are designed to use both thumbsticks <90% of the time, why no one bothers putting positioning them so that they will give your thumbs a relaxed position, rather than squeezing them the whole time? It surely cannot be that hard?

So when playing FPS where both thumbs are on the stick most of the time, does your right thumb hurt or what?

The face buttons feel way to awkward to press down there, main reason I gave up so soon on the Steam controller.

Well, honestly, to innovate a controller you need to actually try and innovate.

For something like gamepass you just need money. Lots of it sure, but its not trying to innovate how you play games at all.

Yeah, ms's xbox is a talkative division.

Next step is good guy Phil asking why Sony’s controller can’t be compatible with Xbox for the benefit of the whole gaming community.

Gamepass is a marketing toy, they put a lot of PR and spin on the model to make you believe it's about choice (200 games WTF)... When a similar service, that is better in every way, has existed on PS4/3 for years now... But xbox fans are just desperate for arguments, so they run with whatever pr Phil gives to them.

Come on Phil, show some anger! That's how you show your true self. I'm sick of this fake Pollyanna shit. I liked him when he blocked David Jaffe, that's how you react in real life lol :messenger_grinning:

Phil is a bit all over the place. He's like the dude you think is awesome then he goes and fucks your sister. But then sincerely apologises, acts cool again and then fucks your Mother :p

Dual sense is nice. Like the haptics though I feel it's sometimes a bit gimmicky. Don't care for the resistance on the triggers for shooters in the least.

Symmetrical sticks don't feel right for me either. I prefer asymetrical. Different folks, different strokes. Just what I like.

Irrelevant. The controller's home is the lap, if forced to move, next stop is the menu where I'll look for which settings to turn off.

Gyro is shit, and it has been shit since it was first introduced.
This is your subjective opinion.

You don’t have to have it on while the people that enjoy it can use it. How is it being an option affecting you?

You're not gonna win against pro gyro flickers with traditional controller.

As is yours.
No, it’s absolutely objectively superior using aim test scores. People have actually played and won death matches in quake using steam controller gyro as well.

note the dude playing with the controller in his lap which you for some reason believe isn’t possible with gyro.

What makes you think I care? I don't enjoy the gyro experience. Hence, it sucks. You need to learn to deal with people not liking the thing you like. Essential coping skill in life.

Yeah it sucks. Hence people shouldn't use it either because I don't like it. People should deal with me not enjoying options.

So because you don’t like it that means nobody else should be able to enjoy it? Just take the L bro.

I wouldn't even be mad if Xbox comes out with their own "dualsense" controller. Third party devs would be forced to utilize it in their games (and the implentation does seem to be easy anyway).
