And yes men should be held up to maturity standards, thats the porblem with society. Where we think Men can stay boys forever and not teach the next generation what it means to be a man. So the cycle continues and you have infintile men as the next generation that focus more on Video games and old toys rather than family and bringing up their kids to be providers and protectors.

And Woman have their place to, and should focus on raising their children and creating a strong home enviroment (while still working of course not get in the kitchen and make me a sandwhich). Both parents should be focusing on making a strong family with strong work ethic and focus on eductation and hard work.

Maybe thats one reason why society is so fucked and Gen Z and millenials are so self absorbed and selfish. Why we have so many mental issues in the younger generation. No strong parents to set ground rules and examples for children to follow. Instead its hey you can be a kid even into your 50's and focus on games and toys.

Playing videogames, by itself, doesn't say anything about you at all. If you look at stats for the average videogamer, it pretty well lines up with the average person, in terms of age, income level, educational level, and so forth. Playing videogames makes you, on average, average.

The question isn't WHETHER you play videogames, it's HOW you play videogames -- or rather, how videogames fit into your life. Do you play them 8 hours a day, every day, and neglect every other area of your life? Well, that's a maturity problem. Do you have a balanced life into which videogames fit as an enjoyable form of escape or entertainment? Then that's fine, welcome to the club.

Same goes for social media, TV, sports, etc. We all know people who are stunted and use them poorly, and we all know people who are grown up and use them wisely. It's not the medium that makes it "immature;" it's the person.

But anyway, the thread is supposed to be a laugh, not some serious discussion about how "mature" videogames are.

Honestly, part of what appeals to me about videogames and game forums is not having to worry about being Mature and Serious.

During my childhood I can't even complain to my parent when I got home from being punished by my teacher. I would only get punished and lectured more. It's fair because it's actually my fault . Most parents would even apologize and give gifts to the teacher because of their children's wrongdoings.

You have people who waste away their days getting outraged on Twitter or watching meme videos on YouTube or binging shows on Netflix.

Fair play to them if that's what they enjoy.

However, it's dumb to then be talking trash about how other people choose to spend their time.

Most people with a solid job will be working 40 hours of the week as it is. If there's a commute and chores and other essentials then maybe you'll get 4 hours of time to yourself in the evening. If you are lucky. I don't see the difference in watching some shitty youtube podcast or looking at pictures on Instagram and playing something for a few hours.
