NXGamer's Dirt 5 comparison: PS5 x XSX

You guys clowned Series S for going 720p in a game with a 3rd of the power and here we have the PS5 at sub-HD and noone bats an eyelid? You guys can't be serious right now.
The Series X goes at 900p as well :lollipop_winking: and that is only at the 120 mode. On the quality mode 60fps it has higher overall res. And like said before. It's slightly less res but all the assets are higher res than Series, it has tesselation which is absent on X, better anysotropic filtering, better LOD, more details, better foliage, and so on.

We can when xsx looks like early x360 game in that mode and its 1080p

The devs literally confirmed that it was a bug.
So reduced resolution, reduced geometry, reduced lod, reduced texture filtering, reduced foliage all the same "confirmed" bug? Please bear in mind that the dev was only talking about 120hz mode, all other modes that have lower settings than PS5 are apparently working as expect.

Keep drinking the cool-aid mate, it's choices, not bugs.
This one is a particularly brutal head to head for Xbox. Ouch. I'm sure it will be patched to get a little closer to PS5 but the difference is too big to not expect compromises elsewhere to reach parity like with Valhalla.
Also pretty brutal to DF who neglected to mention any of the other differences during their analysis. in quality and resolution modes.

No, because the video didn't come out weeks after someone already made a video about that buggy version.
Thing is, different takes from many outlets is necessary.....There is a lot we miss on when it's only one Sheriff in town, especially when that Sheriff is DF....Just look at how much more information NX has given us on the game.......Many things DF did not and they clearly missed or their eagled eyes was asleep......This is a larger gap between PS5 and XBOX than we thought...Clearly I have also highlighted better effects and settings in DMC 5, COD and even Dirt with background textures....I highlighted it all in those specific threads, but you need tech channels to pick this up too, so more persons can be in the know....

In Dirt some people thought there was only a graphical gulf in the 120fps mode, but there is a gulf everywhere in Dirt......When other tech sites do DMC5 Remastered, you heard it here first....The PS5 version has better AA, crisper lighting and reflections, higher average resolutions and better textures and background details too...

- A bug can make the game run at 45~50fps on XSX. To solve this restart the console
- Texture detail, anysotropic filtering, foliage density, all lower on Series X
- Resolution in Quality mode tends to hover between native 4K and 1800p on PS5, goes down to 1440p often on Series X
- Reduction in LODs on XSX.
- 120Hz mode turns Tesselation off on Series X completely. All the rest becomes even worse than the PS5 version. LOD is reduced significantly.
- 120Hz mode runs at 1080p on X versus 900p on PS5, but there are lots of graphical details simply gone in X.
- 120Hz mode seems to run about 1 to 2% better on Series X. 117 vs 115 fps on one track, 116 x 115 on the other. In general performance is great on both.
- Performance seems identical or slightly favoring PS5 in 60FPS mode.

Damn, I watched it in 360p and the difference in graphics is still devastating in favor of PS5. :lollipop_tears_of_joy: So 30% delta on resolution combined with around 30% delta in fps it's more than 60% advantage on PS5, combine that with worse graphics and it gets to 100% in my very accurate calculation.

Wow this is a massacre.....The 120Hz mode on PS5 has better quality settings than the Quality on Series X......It looks better minus resolution, better lod, better textures, better filtering. Series X is using VRS........

All I have to say is keep VRS far away from my PS5.....If XBOX is using VRS so aggressively so early on and still falling short in framerate in quality mode, it means it's even weaker than we thought...

For the 120hz mode:
- XSX basically has the settings of XSS at higher resolution, no tesselation, low res texture, low AF, short draw distance.
- PS5 impressively uses the same high quality settings of the 60fps mode with longer draw distance, higher texture resolution, much better AF, tesselation.

XSX has usually a higher res in that mode but according to NXGamer the game looks much better on PS5 because of the much higher settings, res of textures, AF, tesselation etc.

I mean we saw some of this, but not to this extent.....Thank you for this video NX.......DF what are you doing........And to think someone was accusing NX of not going into detail as DF and not showing on screen what he is talking about, when this is what he does bets and excels over all other outlets on....THAT "Attention to detail"...All I have to say, I'm watching this in 360p, will rewatch in 4K, but the difference is massive in PS5's favor, it's not even funny anymore....I guess we can have peace now....It's a lock for the entire generation..

All I have to say, having finished this video is don't tinker with PS5's 120Hz mode Codemasters......In my eyes, the only issue the 120Hz mode has on PS5 is at the beginning of one track, whilst in the race it solidifies to 120Hz consistently and it even outperforms the Series X whilst racing. In all other tracks in the 120Hz mode, PS5 is ahead or 120hz solid....PS5 is especially ahead on tracks where there is more GPU grunt happening, like lots of mud deformation and tessellation going on, where XBOX Series X tanks even with all the much lower texture settings, lod settings and car details settings in that mode......

I hope Code does not lower PS5 settings in that mode for one track, they can just optimize that one track on PS5......All in all, I think if the stats were recorded, PS5 would be very close to average performance to Series X, perhaps even beat it in average performance if races were done on all the tracks inclusive of the performance issues at the start of the problematic track.....I hope Codemasters don't Valhalla this.....Vgtech's average stats should be done on several tracks on 120Hz, this should be interesting....In mud deforming tracks, PS5 takes a massive lead over XBOX in 120hz mode....

The SX Quality, 120hz PS5 and 120hz SX numbers just don't make sense. And they don't make sense.. differently... 2 of them have the low as the average and one the high as the average. He may be doing some odd "rounding" of sorts but it just seems like a mistake.

But from the video, it sounds like PS5's averages were higher across the board?

Why not wait until the patch is out to do this? When the devs themselves said the XSX has bugs that lowers performance and needs updates. Again, I know why but lets hear the excuse you make

The analysis is way beyond what digital foundry showed and your complaining, it's so sad the lengths people will go to try and discredit something.

I understand it's not leaning the way you want it to, but the video is factual and well done, perhaps you need to stop being so over-sensitive about your favorite piece of plastic.

Facts matter, i am sorry they are upsetting you and a few other xbox fanboys around here, maybe don't watch them and put gears 5 on loop, that way you can feel safe in your err Safe space.

The average resolution number is just an estimate. I wonder how many times he did pixel counts to arrive at those "averages".

The analysis is done before the patches that the devs said they will implement.

If the patch comes in 2 weeks, you think NXGamer is gonna make a video about it?

Yeah I assume it's from taking samples.

But the average should still be based on those samples, and it kinda can't be correct if you look at 3 of the numbers. The average of 2 things can't be 1 of those things. Maybe he means the most common resolution sampled or something.

I'm sure he's been told and it's some sort of mistake either transcribing or math or maybe not using the right term.

Balanced mix of data and narration. Good improvement with each video - even the voice pacing. Nice to see data summaries at the end... a bit more expanded works even better - which should be a standard for other outfits. NXGamer NXGamer any chance we may get a DMC5:SE face-off?
Yes we need a look at DMC5 Special Edition next...

Then we need.

Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate
Observer System Redux
No Man's Sky
Fortnite (Why hasn't anybody compared Fortnite's RT and performance yet)
Dead By Daylight
Rainbow Six Siege

Then

The Pathless
Warhammer Chaos Bane
WRC 9

Depends on the results you know that. He won't post a negative Sony video and hurt viewership. Smart to make money that way there is millions of potential new viewers for him. Good business.
