A-ha! My suspicions have been proven correct. I love SR as well. :messenger_horns:
Count me in on the school rumble fan club. Harima chose poorly though. Team Eri for life!
Edit: nvm I just read the manga ending. They need to make another anime asap so I can get that ending! lol

In Minagoroshi-hen and now in Gou(Watadamashi-hen) he gave the doll to Mion, avoiding Shion going L5.
The power of infinite alternate realities i guess.
Still waiting for the timeline where Keiichi achieves an harem, then dies horribly while being raped to death by multiple thirsty yanderes

I finished Usagi Drop. Volume 9 is the final one. Volume 10 is extras (and I liked it).
So, things got weird at the start of the volume 8 and in volume 9 was such an anticlimax.

I thought that in the end, we would see a young child praying in front of a tumb, but it is not Rin in the tomb of Daikichi's grandfather, it would be Rin's child in the Daikichi tomb. But reading the interview with Yumi Unita, she wanted a happy ending.

Weird, but not that absurd as some people were claiming.

its not really absurd, its just too out of nowhere. I hadn't been spoiled before reading, so when it actually happened it just felt confusing since nothing in the story suggested that it would end like that.

Is Kamisama ni natta hi any good, or is it shitty like Charlotte and Angel Beats?
Also "The Day I Became a God", is literally becoming Charlotte tier and it was also extremely predictable. SHAME. Because (again just like Charlotte) the first eps were actually decent.

I'll finish it and depending on how it goes (I already know it will end/ for I am an omniscient god) I'll prob never bother with any of the people involved. (again)

Alternatively you can watch the first 3 eps just say the world ended.

More like why does he keep doing it?

I honestly think somebody else does the beginning of the story and then he works himself into said story by making it a incoherent mess by adding as many tropes as possible ruining all the plot/characters/moments in the process. Just ONCE I'd like to be wrong to where things are going but I haven't NOT guessed what happens next week after week.

Now I'm reading Citrus (by Saburouta), and that is a very bad manga. I just bought because of the cover, but the title is awful at the start (a woman just got married but for she is ok that her new husband will travel around the world alone, and then she is all alone again. This plot device is just absurd, lol.

Exactly.

Rin woke one day, sighed a little and said: "Well, I like Daikichi as a man". It's her feelings, ok.
Kouki is also a weird, who likes his mom, but Rin's mom and her boyfriend acted like that was normal.

But in the end, I liked Usagi Drop. Could have be better, but it wasn't bad.

Never read things based on covers.
Unfortunately, I do this sometimes. In the past I did that all the time.

I removed more than 40 books from my bookshelf to donate. All these books I bought because of the cover. :/

This is the cover of Citrus that made me buy all the avaiable volumes without reading about the plot.

And while I was waiting for the delivery, I saw that the covers forms an image too.

Too bad that the story is really really awful and the drawings are much more generics than in the cover.

We could have told you that if you had only asked. Can't believe it got a anime adaptation. (or a sequel) Then again people think Bloom into you is great so I just don't know.

I did not know that it have an anime. And this was before I started to post regularly here.
Also did not know if people would know these obscure manga.

But I will buy the #7 and then I'll give it for someone who wants it, since there a lot of people in the publisher's twitter complaining that this manga is expensive.

If you want to read a "yuri" manga read Oddman 11.
I will look for it, thanks for the recomendation.

About yuri mangas:
The one that I liked was "Octave" (but I like almost every manga from Afternoon).
I also read "Girlfriends" and not liked nor disliked.
Pietá is the other that I read in the past and I don't know if Maria-sama ga Miteru or Haru yo, Koi can be considered yuri.
And that's it, my whole experience with yuri.

Well, I like to read all the genres really, so I wasn't looking specifically for yuris.

There was nothing fetishistic about it in Shinsekai Yori. At first, you say "what the absolute fuck?" and then when you understand how certain elements of that world operate, it starts making sense. Only time I felt gayness enhanced a story.

It made no sense for the kids to be homo just because of the plot just like it made no sense to throw away the world and the lore in favor of WE WUZ HUMANS AND SHIT.

Don't go into spoiler territory. People reading might wanna watch.

And it made complete sense. I don't know wtf you're talking about.

The lore from the very beginning is built on the feeling of unease in the society and that something is not right. They're being fed propaganda. As a people, they're genetically modified to create artificial behaviours and responses. Like the death feedback to stop murderers. So when you see that, literally everyone is gay, it raises a huge fucking question. Then you realize it's because they were made to be gay or even hypnotized into it. It's likely a regular part of their teenagehood. You can guess why. My own is that the government wants to avoid teenage pregnancy while not taking away their sexuality.

The last complaint you have is ridiculous. Squealer is completely tied up with the main plot. They're really one and the same and fit extremely well together. The manipulation on all levels (social, psychological, environmental, genetic), propaganda, etc. Squealer is the backlash to all of that. A fight against all the unholy changes they forced on others. He may be a war criminal, but he was right. They laughed at him, but he was a human. He's a tragic character and it's a beautiful story.

Top tier anime.

The beginning of the anime had more premise as a different take on Akira rather than what it was focused on or killing people offcamera because plot. Squeeler wasn't my main criticism here, it was the fact they focused on again WE WUZ HUMANS N SHIT. The gay part was insulting because man you'd have to have the government make you gay cause that shit is unnatural and doesn't ever happen in nature at all. Oh wait animals are gay af. But I digress I was presented with something interesting and it went on to become yet another predictable take on a subject that has been done to death. Poorly. To top it all off nothing changes by the end and the process is repeated so your "fight against all the unholy changes forced on others" is funny to me. The elites win again!

PART 2!

I never identified as a the queerats even though that was the intention. Now excuse me I must get to work to make .000001% of what rich people that don't work and just continue to get richer just by existing while their families run the country.

Yes, they do. That's not exactly stereotypical of a story.

The themes have been done to death (and better) not the latter although the elites winning isn't unique to it but is rare. The real crime here is the discarded lore. 🤷

Man, any time we have a legit discussion about an anime I'm reminded how awful your tastes are. It doesn't even make sense.
It isn't much of a discussion if people just agree with everything. Specially when there is legit criticism to said work of fiction rather than IT FUCKING SUUUUUUUUUCKS. 7/10 before the time skip. 4/10 after.

True, but I guess I just don't empathize with your critique in the slightest bit.

It had plenty of action, interesting world-building, struggle to find the truth of the world, the greys of the truth, and an ending that left you feeling both satisfied at the success of the main duo, yet conflicted about the failure and treatment of the villain. Again, to me, it was beautiful.

Remember back in school, there were a bunch of mosquitoes in our classrom once, pestering us sitting in the corner.
So one of my classmates managed to capture one, he plucked off his wings and legs and stuck him in the wall as an example for the other mosquitoes. Curious times.
It didn't work btw.

I've done horrible things but never pulled an animals legs one by one. Multiple at that. (I do use live bait for fishing but that is different bro!)

Worst i ever did was burn scorpions alive, since thats the most effective/safe way to kill. Fuckers are dangerous afterall.

A spray or stick works. If you had the time to burn it you had time to bonk it.

We don't have sprays for them (though when they start appearing often we do take pest control measures), proper sticks are troublesome to find/use and flip-flops require you to get too close for confort.
Honestly I'm more worried about them stinging me, my family or my dogs than i am about humanely killing them.

And here I thought I was the only one who disliked Shinsekai Yori. It was really interesting at first but it really didn't hold up after the time skips.

Anyway, Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun manga is surprisingly good. Lots of cute moments between the characters. The conclusion of the last arc really shook things up for the main gang.

Almost done with Deca-Dence and am really enjoying it! After that I'll give Re:Zero S2 a go even though I really didn't get on with the first season. People won't shut up about it though so I'm wonder what the fuss is about.

Also how do people feel about having a separate Anime thread? We could rename this the Manga Community Thread or whatever?

I saw that because One said it was decent.

It did nothing for me. But main girl was best girl so I saw it all.

You can always start one here or in offtopic. Maybe you'll even have a decent OP. I haven't even started a proper beginners REC in the OP just season anime RECs.

The more anime/manga threads the better. Happosai Happosai has his own RETRO anime thread and that is its own thing. I want to BELIEVE this is more of a general thread where people can just share their thoughts on any manga/anime they might be watching. I'm surprised Bernkastel Bernkastel hasn't started a VN thread yet BUT I DIGRESS do what you want!

Hmmm... sounds like we're going to have another Rising of the Shield Hero situation on our hands here with Redo of Healer. Might have to check the manga.

Shield Hero still had some soul to the story, and the "controversy" was largely overreaction by the typical crowd.

Redo of healer is just pure edgy trash. Even if they complained about, it its not worth caring.
