CD PROJEKT RED BOSS LIKES TWEETS CRITICISING SONY FOR REMOVING CYBERPUNK 2077

Adam Badowski, CD Projekt Red’s studio head, liked tweets on Friday criticising Sony for its decision to pull Cyberpunk 2077 from the PlayStation Store.

Badowski, who is also Cyberpunk 2077’s game director, liked a total of seven replies to Sony’s announcement that Cyberpunk 2077 had been pulled from the PlayStation Store and full refunds offered to customers who purchased the game. [UPDATE: The likes have now been removed.]

Sony announced the unexpected move on Friday, following a turbulent week for CD Projekt Red centred around criticism of Cyberpunk 2077’s performance on last-gen consoles.

One message liked by the studio head called Sony’s decision “ridiculous”. “The game is playable and is actually a great game insofar as I know,” it reads. “Why not wait until they release some patches, updates, etc?”

Another user wrote: “Pulling the game from the store? that’s a cute ‘I am angry at a couple of refunds’ policy. The game works, but this been blown waayyyyy out of proportion by media needing some clicks.”

A third message liked by Badowski even criticised Marvel’s Avengers – another game which experienced a troubled launch – and asked why Sony hadn’t taken similar action against the Square Enix title.

CD Projekt Red’s studio head liked several tweets criticising Sony.
“This is interesting, @PlayAvengers came out in a worse state then @CyberpunkGame and you guys did nothing. Avengers is effectively dead on all platforms making online play non existent, on top of bad code. Where are all those peoples refunds? They’re next right.”

Another message liked by Badowski encouraged Cyberpunk 2077 owners not to refund the game: “I’m telling everyone that bought the game. Don’t return it. CDPR will fix the mistakes. All of the Witcher games were ass when they first came out and look at them now.”

Officially, CD Projekt Red has said that the decision to remove Cyberpunk 2077 from sale on the PlayStation Store came following joint discussions with Sony. “We are working hard to bring Cyberpunk 2077 back to PlayStation Store as soon as possible,” it said this week.

A comment from the Don:

In defence of Adam, he also can be seen liking a tweet that calls the game broken, nevertheless, not a good look for a CEO under extreme scrutiny from the public, games media and his companies fanbase.

What time is it?
They should spend more time fixing their game and less time on Twitter.

For a company that announce themselves as "For The Players" they have many anti consumer ways about them for sure, hopefully this experience traumatises Jim Ryan into rethinking their policies.

If you want to point fingers at Sony and their policies for this fiasco, I'd start with how they certify titles. The game should have never been offered in the first place and I do think all the platform holders share some culpability in that.

I doubt the the tweet is entirely true either. The number of complaints Sony received is probably a bigger chunk of why the game was pulled and refunds were issued. Let's not forget Microsoft and BestBuy went outside of their policies as well thanks to this half baked cake.

They lied about so much shit, I doubt they were really "working with Sony" that shit sounds more like Sony TOLD THEM they are removing it from PSN until its actually a fucking working title. Many Youtubers asked the same question I was thinking too, if it was CDPR telling them, how come the game is still up on XBL, Steam, GOG?

Once they made those series of lies, they simply can't be believed going forward.

And what a fucked up anti-consumer store policy is that. Fuck Sony and their policies.

Don't say that, the Sony army will come after you.

CD Projekt Red has had the most generous refund policy in gaming for about 10 years now but people frankly believe that Sony is looking out for the "players' interest", even though in the very recent past they left games that either (1) bricked the console or (2) caused massive overheating issues up for sale on their storefront with not a care in the world.

Sony TOLD THEM they are removing it from PSN until its actually a fucking working title.

So why did they not do this with.. um... Anthem?

Please, they simply don't want to change their asinine refund policy. It has nothing to do with the game's quality.

I would actually agree with CDPR in their claim on Marvels Avengers, to date it's still completely fucking broken, you can't have an online game have broken matchmaking but somehow it's still available for sale.

I've now played Cyberpunk for 15+ hours after finding the right PC tweaks and it's a decent game. It does nothing original nor improves on anything done before it, the city's AI is on par with that of GTA 3 and that's being generous.

I agree the game should've been pulled based on console performance alone, I also believe Marvel Avengers should too. Cyberpunk at the end of the day is just lipstick on a pig and when it's been everybody's 2020 hyped up hope it's that much of a tragedy.

Can't wait for the comically timed release of Witcher 4 news

That mentally stuck in the past is really weird.

“Why they didn’t do the same in the past?” I don’t know because they should... now if they didn’t in the past they can continue not doing it now?

I mean the industry needs to wake up.
Past mistakes is not a reason to do future mistakes.

I hope from now every publisher that tries to sell a broken game on PS Store get delisted.

Bookmarking this so we can this conversation again next time a EA/Bethesda bugfest is released - and it will happen, sooner or later - and miraculously Sony does not pull the game from the PS Store after weeks of memory leaks, crashes and assorted hardware problems.

Please.

maybe CDPR shouldn't release a broken game? and they told people to ask for refunds so why are they mad? and maybe people should wait for reviews and don't pre order games? fools always fall to hype and pre order that's why some publishers like bethesda know they will make money regardless of how broken the games they release

You can bookmark... if that happen I will criticize like I did before Sony delisted... I even complained how Sony let a game like that pass in the in the Sony compliance with the excuse of “the one patch” lol

Now the blá-blá-blá about old games is bullshit.... one game needs to be the first to not have more broken games released.

Publisher will sure have another ideia from now.

Imagine if Best Buy stopped carrying Sony TVs because they recalled a model and BB was pissed Sony told them to take it back. Which even then would make more sense since its a physical product.

This is a shit move by Sony. Easily an overreaction.

The slimey cunt is feeling the heat. A class action lawsuit is coming.

Liking peoples tweets on Twitter badmouthing Sony is not going to stop it. He knew about the horrible console ports and was probably in on it when they decided to hide it from public view until release.

The further this compang goes into the gutter, the better.
Investors want blood and he's going to be one of the first ones to go.

Fuck 'em.

The tweets are right. It is blowed up by the media to gain clicks and to sink the game because it's not made for Americans... or rather, it's not made primarily for Americans. It's a Polish game. The same way Witcher 3 didn't adhere to American fantasy standards. Cyberpunk 2077 is essentially a blockbuster for Europeans the same way Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest are primarily intended for Japanese people.

Sony doesn't care, though. They could have removed the game from the store immediately and offer pre-order refunds until it is fixed. Day one patch is not an excuse because all it takes is to have one person... play the game before the patch is greenlight. CDPR simply said "go to Sony because it's their platform", they can't refund the game themselves because that's not how it works - money went to PSN.

And what a fucked up anti-consumer store policy is that. Fuck Sony and their policies.

It is. I remember trying to get a refund for them because the content would not work. Sony is absolutely terrible with their customer service and refunds. I've had better luck with Origin and Uplay customer service than Sony.

So on one side we have a company that purposely lied about development being first and foremost on last-gen consoles while purposely hiding that version from the public because they knew it was broken as hell and buggy.

On the other side we have a storefront that doesn't like refunding digital games.

And people are blaming the storefront...

You are about to be cancelled. You can't say that about our beloved Sony. Of course they only care about the players /s. CDPR/GOG has been one of the most consumer friendly companies, with one of the best policies in literally all time.

A few bugs, but the game is fucking amazing to say the least. Haven't played a game this good in a while.

Giving us a broken ass shit game and play victim plus blame sony.

How about we narrow this shit down to consumer vs cd project.
Your product is garbage and you knew it. So yeah if you cant give me my money back and you use sony as a mediator dont be surprised if they go full retard and say enough and fuck your game, get the fuck off our plattform.

Obviously it was sold on Sony's Storefront. Where are they supposed to go? Tf mate?
So your point?
CDPR created and shipped a broken game.
Sony is allowing everybody to refund that broken game and at the same time delisted that broken game until that broken game get ready as a non-broken game for consumer to buy it again.

But hey blame the Evil Anti-Consumer Sony lol

Umm, Sony is allowing people to get refunds. WTF you talking about homie?

Homie yes they are. After taking it off the damn store. Do you even know how shit Sony's Anti-Consumer store policies are? People got pissed so they go to CDPR who have to redirect them back to Sony who got pressured by the public into doing this. What kinda story are you following?

Sony Ponies shifting blame on the developer for their shit store policies? Hilarious. 🤣

Remember, this is the same group that said EA Play was bad for the industry and anti consumer, Game pass was bad for the industry and anti developer. Different year same talking points.

Lol, read above.
Oops. Double post.

Imagine pulling all this scumbag BS and then trying to play the victim.

The most telling thing to me though was him liking a tweet that basically said "so what if this game is broken, all their games were ass on release and got fixed later, this is no different". He basically admitted he sees nothing wrong with what they did, (hell, almost implies players should have expected it) and that this is not a philosophy he plans to abandon for his company in the future. He has learned nothing.

VERY reluctant to support them moving forward so long as people like him are calling the shots.

You make no sense.

The game was broken... if the game was fine nobody should ask refund.

What a hell the Sony bad polices has to do with that?

Homie, I don't buy games day 1 so I know what I am buying before I pull the trigger. You are just taking CDPR's epic fuckup as some excuse to go after Sony. Point to where Sony touched you on this doll.

Are you blind?
Are you blind?

The game was broken... nothing nothing in the world could make people not want refund it.

No matter what Sony refund policy is... the refund should happen no matter what.

Because you know CDPR made a broken game. It is unique and exclusive CDPR fault.

Sony probably did something so bad to you that you are trying to blame them for CDPR shipping a broken game and consumers asking refund lol
