Leaked Nintendo Documents show the company privately investigated homebrew developers, surveilled their home and intimidated them

This is very interesting. I wonder what other people could deserve having some kind of file in the offices of different companies.

Also, let's remember the rumors about Gumpei Yokoi's death.

I don't know about Nintendo today but at least Hiroshi Yamaguchi was a world class bastard.

???

How is this a bad thing?

This is actually an incredibly generous and nice measure, they were planning to approach him using conversations they planned on a flowcart (lol), and criminal investigations were the last way out. Any other company would sue that guy to jail in 2 seconds and ruin his life.

Cracking the 3DS is a pretty serious thing.

I think a lot of people are just surprised at the lengths they're going to with the investigators and whatnot.

I agree with you though, the fact that it seems like they were willing to give these people a shot to chill and even hire some of these dudes is a lot better than most companies.

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

It's creepy, but when your hobby involves potentially costing a giant corp billions, they are going to take action.

Yeah, damn Snowden for having whistleblowed tech companies, now people are aware of how exactly their information is tracked and used and government had to pass law to protect and regulate...oh your kind of scum, what I would do during a war...

WTF are you talking about?

This is Nintendo hiring a private investigator; something you or I could do... something non tech companies do, and has nothing to do with any data privacy issues.

But enjoy implying you'd love to kill me in a war over a comment about game consoles? Fucking insane lol
