Nier Automata is 20 merkels for the game of the yorha edition - worth it?

Background: hardcore stylish action games like dmc, bayo, etc are not my thing.

Will I be able to still enjoy nier? Or to put it in other words: how deep it goes into bayo territory?

Also: any word of a ps5 enhanced edition that will cost moneys or this is as its gonna be?

I bought a sex doll, but I keep it inflated 100% of the time and use it like a regular wife
Although the combat resembles Bayo and DMC it's far easier and forgiving, as you can evade much easier than in those other games.

For 20 rupees it's a must buy I would say. The game is great overall.

One of the best games of the gen. Easily.

Absolutely worth it. Plays great on PS5. I don't think it has official NG enhancements but maintains steady FR on PS5.

If those types of games are not your thing then give it a pass, personally I think it’s a great game but I’m not going to invest time and money into a type of game I’m not into.
Yes it gets lots of well deserved praise but you don’t half to play every highly rated game , it’s OK to skip a game that’s not your thing.

I like it in concept, it's just that I'm very softcore and all the split second timings and the insane combos are out of my range. More "mashy" versions of that style like god of war I do enjoy.

I think you will enjoy it if a weird and rather deep sci-fi story and awesome music is something that sounds good to you. Oh, and if you like nice butts.

I could never get into the stylish action genre (only ever played through DMC4 to completion) either, but Nier doesn't require you to really master the combo system like those games do.

This one's more mashy and less technical. You can mash the evade button, and the game is easy.

In fact, it's low difficulty is my only issue with the game. :messenger_grinning_sweat:

Edit: wasn't there a demo for the ps4?

Just finished this a few days ago and the combat is nothing like Bayonetta. If anything, it's much more hack & slash like a warriors game, combat is very simple and very forgiving. Mindless fun as some would say.

The story is pretty great and some of the music is godtier.

Sorry forgot to really answer your question:

I'm not really much of an action game master - but I was able to over-level and finish the game pretty easily - other than beginning stage, where everything's thrown at you at once and I was little overwhelmed by the scope and variety of the gameplay... but once I got used to the whole thing, and figured out the rhythm of the play - when to take a break, when to grind, when to explore, and when to focus on the main story... things became much more enjoyable that I rarely died.

My main pattern was basically weak-weak-weak-strong combo followed or cut by evade/dash button. You get some nice projectile attacks with your weapon, and support from your pod system - so if I felt threatened - I just backed away and blasted them with bullets and wave attacks. As long as you level up your character - it's not much of an issue.

I did have more trouble adapting to the twin stick shoot-em-up with bullet hell elements. As I suck at Geometry Wars, I would tighten up... you get hit 3 times and you die... so I was overly nervous... and press right stick in - which would lock up - and die from a panic. LOL.... but then again, while tough, didn't feel like they were excessively hard either.

So yeah. Think of this of much less of an action game, but more of an JRPG in scale than others like DMC/Bayo. It does have its variety in combo, but never really had to use them much.

Well, decided to give it a try...
Demo or did you purchased it?

Try to not start the game on hard. If you die in the prologue you'll hve to replay it.

Also you can change difficuly whenever you want iirc.

Absolutely loved the game, wish different regions had separate Trophy lists so I could keep replaying it for them and the Plat. The story still sticks with me and the music is amazing. Very well made and much more of a hack 'n' slash action rpg than a pure action game. Very well made and something that could only ever exist in the gaming medium. Can't wait for the first Nier remaster, but the timer on my PS5 says its still 117d, 5hrs away still...

Yes absolutely. It's nowhere near as ridiculous as Kamiya's games, the combat is much more streamlined and the audio/video cues that signal when to dodge are 100 times easier to notice.
You can also equip different "chips" which are like materia from FF7, and with these chips you can completely customise the combat however you like it. Enjoy it, try to play it to ending E, it's an incredible game.

As a game, it was just ok. Gameplay doesn't go as hard as Bayonetta or DMC, but what it does go hard at is bullshit anime nonsense with the story.

It does have a few decent moments, but weebs will tell you how genius the director is and amazing the music sounds, but you can't trust them.

One of the best games of last generation and one of the games from last generation that will age well for the next 10 years. So yes, id say it's worth it. In terms of combat, you can get by in this game, it's lot more forgiving on the lower difficulty and simpler(surface level).

20 euros.

?
The game is split into 3 "routes", each accompanied by a credits roll. Route A is what you start the game on. It's your standard videogame story, albeit with an ending that doesn't give much closure for reasons that will become obvious.

Route B is unlocked after the credits roll on Route A. It's essentiall Route A again, but from a slightly different perspective. This is done to give you further insight into subtle events that were unfolding in the background of Route A. Unfortunately some people are put off by this since it's essentially 90% the same as Route A, and they quit here. This is a huge mistake, but I can't say I dont understand why people do it.

Route C picks up where A and B end, and goes on to finish the story. This is where the bulk of the game's emotional weight is, and I beg you to play through Route B to get here. It's essentially the third act to the game's story.

Ask me about my Stream Deck
According to the recent GAF game of the generation results you should check out God of War($8 cd keys), Bloodborne ($9 target) and Witcher 3 ($15 cd keys) before spending any time on Nier.

I didn't care for it, so take that with a grain of salt though. 2B gifs are nice but those are free of course 😏
