People of the gaming world.

Since this years video game awards and its nominations for Game of The Year alot of people -myself included- just had one single question: What the fuck is this game and why was it nominated for GOTY???

Also why the fuck did it win even TWO awards at the game awards.

I know alot of people don't give a flying fuck about awards or game awards in general, but its saying something about the current state of the gaming industry. Its becoming more and more like movies. Influenced from real world events and political agenda bullshit. And here we go, theres a game nobody gave a flying fuck about but suddenly it is literally FORCED and shoved into our faces.

So lets take a look at this crappy game:

HADES

came out on sept 17, 2020 but already released in Early Access in Dec. of 2019.

!!!!!OVERHELMINGLY POSITIVE!!!!!

wow. much hype. very swell

ok?

well the reviews from people who played are are total bs. "pet the dog pet the dog pet the dog 10/10" what a fucking horse crap.

Ok, then lets take a look at the stats, everyone likes stats right?

So what this tells us is basically nobody gave a fuck about this game up until the time it released and even when it released it wasnt that hot. Only when it got nominated for goty...literally out of nowhere, out of Keighleys ass or idk

and already it is losing players everyday.
The game that won two awards at the game awards including BEST ACTION GAME

Bastion was incredible, so I trust the devs. Also so what if it wasnt hyped when in early access? I never play early access games I assume others are the same.

Surprise - people start playing games / watching movies or shows / reading books etc after they win awards.

Not seeing the outrage here.

Don't know anything about it other than I believe it was written by Greg Kasavin, of whose gaming credentials I have a fairly high opinion since the old GameSpot days. I would buy it, and probably will, just based on that.

He might have been the first "good one" from that organization, with maybe Ryan Davis being the last.

This is a very strange thread, lmao.

It's a phenomenal game IMO that deserves every bit of praise that it receives. I feel to say such a thing without playing the game at all isn't just whatsoever.

This was my first Supergiant game, but going into it I heard quite a bit of praise about Supergiant over the past few years.

The end result is an incredible game full of a ton of replay value, great mechanics, music, voice acting, art, etc. It's a phenomenal package, especially if you're into rogue-like or similar games.

Because it's indie game from the creators of bastion... I never liked bastion so I dont care
Cool that you took some time to get in here and tell us this, though

People who actually played that game (more than an hour, at least) tend to really like it. So I’d say to OP to just give it an honest shot

I like these devs. They put a LOT of incredible details in their games. Especially music/sound-wise, which is a plus for me

The game sold incredibly well on steam, between 2 and 5 million units.

Is it really good?
No idea, Bastion is one of the most overrated games ever but maybe their following products got better.

I tried on release date and I did not liked the humor and graphics. But maybe some day

"Posing as weavers, they offer to supply him with magnificent clothes that are invisible to those who are stupid or incompetent. The emperor hires them, and they set up looms and go to work. A succession of officials, and then the emperor himself, visit them to check their progress. Each sees that the looms are empty but pretends otherwise to avoid being thought a fool. Finally, the weavers report that the emperor's suit is finished. They mime dressing him and he sets off in a procession before the whole city. The townsfolk uncomfortably go along with the pretense, not wanting to appear inept or stupid..."

I liked Bastion quite, but it wasn't my GoTY at the time. I'd still take a more refined version of the gameplay, which is what Hades seems to be, and I know that some people where far more impressed and hooked by Bastion than I was -- so Hades may have blown their minds.

Still, from what little I've watched from the gameplay, Hades looks ok. Graphics are not doing it for me, and the bit I watched was a bit cringe with a Greek goddess talking to the character after he defeated a bunch of identical monsters spawning around...

I think that Hades has been the most well reviewed game of the studio since Basion though. The other two... they were not as well received.

It's an indie darling that is actually a good game (but not as good as they're making up to be), so mediocre critics are overpraising it to vindicate all the times their indie darlings weren't good. 😂

Transistor was very well received and it was considered GOTY in a lot of places.

But here we get all these thread even with TLOU2 so there are some that doesn't understand why these games are good:

Bastion was amazing play some years ago to me... it really was that good... I did not liked the way they chanced the combat with Transistor so I dropped it.
