CYBERPUNK 2077 |OT2| The Last Samurai [>56K Warning_]

I'm not very experienced with hacking, I find if I do contagion they become alerted and seem to instantly know where I am, what am I doing wrong?
That's weird. Like they become alert but they still have to look for me. Normally I'm way outside the grounds hiding behid a container or something.

Do you peak out behind objects and hack?

Okay, sometimes they do have to try and look for me. I've also had it where this meter begins filling that says "revealing position" and I have no clue what to do about it. As many hours as I've spent with the game I've spent very little time figuring out the hacking, I usually just do a bit of it for fun.

Never paid attention to that 'revealing position' thing either. Just make sure I'm in cover.

Hacking is super fun when you have it damn near maxxed out. I hack entire camps of enemies in one go and they all drop and even when I'm spotted and they rush me, I hit them with cripple movement quick hack and it spreads to the entire camp, freezing every single enmy in place so I can then rush them and decapitate with my katana or headshot with my hand cannon revolver.

And I can still go in all guns blazing with my smart weapons if I want to and I'm bored of hacking enemy camps cause my build crit chance and crit damage not only works with my hacking but also my weapons.

Just focused now on getting as much crit chance and crit damage stacked to my clothing items.

Hacking gives you more freedom especially in heavy fortified camps like Militech camps are fucking horrible if going in guns blazing. These are usually hard to take down especially when they have like 5 robots and 1 heavy gunner. They can easily mow you down. Hack a robot to turn on his buddies and hack a turret, then hit the enemies with every quick hack you have while mowing them down with the hacked turret. It's like the 4th of July in there. Pure chaos and totally OP but fun as fuck.

The amount of time needed to add all of that simply proves even more how incomplete this game is and it should have been pushed back until all of this even gets added.

I don't know how many will return to something like this as I think they'd have better luck with that online version. Single player games have a short life and you really only have a few chances to really make that impression on people.

Right now this game is a meme for brokenness. I personally don't know when I'll go back if its even worth my time, I'm guessing next year spring or something depending on what is added.

I agree with that sewer part being suspect as I remember watching a youtube channel covering this and when I heard that I felt it wasn't true as CDPR PR would be shouting about that shit from the rooftops.
Well, truth is, nobody does all of these things. You could bring about Rockstar, but they make action adventure games with bare bones systems, gameplay, mechanics, linear story, fewer missions with very simple/outdated mission design, etc.
Expectations/"hype", some misleading marketing and ultimately console fiasco exacerbated game's flaws over everything it does well. For some, this game could only deliver if it had more life-simulation systems than Rockstar, better level design than Deus Ex, more dialogue options/skill checks than Obsidian, more interactive objects than Bethesda, and more romance options than Bioware game.
CDPR definitely overhyped some features ( I expected more explorable interiors, reactive npcs, more cyberware options and more dynamic dialogue system), but it's still a game more ambitious/that excels in more areas than any I can remember: First person storytelling, main narrative, side quests, characters, world and environment design, best side content and level design ( in open world), gunplay, ambiance, art direction&visuals, music and sound design.

Quickhacks marked as combat are not designed to be used in stealth. You can use it once or twice without breaking stealth, but eventually someone will run a scan, and your position will be revealed. I'm yet to figure out whether the scan is run by a specific enemy in a group, and if you can find that enemy and finish him off before the scan completes whether you can stay unrevealed.

Scan is different from overheat. Overheat can only be performed by enemy netrunner and you get a small yellow indicator that points to the direction where that enemy is located. Scan is just a game's cheap trick to reveal your location. The only way to stop it is to kill entire group of enemies or run away.

Cold Blood gets pretty powerful if you maximize the stacks. Especially the crit damage and crit chance.

True but I guess it depends on what you are building towards. It kind of gives all-round bonuses, so you need to think wisely about what you're putting points into versus splurging.

Word of advice. The dude you're attempting to engage with has a long history of shitting on CP2077 before it even launched (and prior to the leaks). Any straw that he feels supports his viewpoint he will grasp regardless of the veracity of its source. He's a prominent member of Doom Patrol GAF. Nothing is ever good enough for him and his understanding of game design is pretty much non-existent, which is why he perpetually makes asynchronous comparisons. Rockstar makes incredibly detailed worlds without a shadow of a doubt, but at the same time, their mission design is pure scripted route 1, with no leeway for the player to deviate from which is why for all the praise one can throw at the technical aspects they don't necessarily work for all gamers (I always buy them for the tech, but I honestly find finishing them a chore tbh). CP2077 is more a mix of Skyrim coupled with Deus Ex: Human Revolution versus GTA, but of course...cars and driving...so the GTA comparisons are inevitable despite the reality that beyond the superficial of open world, guns and cars, they are nothing alike mechanistically.

Even if someone is completely not interested in Cold Blood, they should spend 1 perk point to "activate" its progression. Let's say your Cool level is 5 and you don't plan to invest further in it.

If you don't activate Cold Blood by spending 1 perk point, you will miss out on 10% increased crit chance, 3% increase in armor and 2 perk points. In other words: by investing 1 perk point you getting 2 back on top of these extra crit / armor bonuses.

It's a no brainer.

Finished it this weekend. close to 90 hours total. I think I had 7 side quests left unfinished.
I did not have enough money to buy all the cars.
I think I got the 'secret ending'.
I visited the grave of Johnny Silverhand before the final mission.

I've just finished this and it's a solid 9/10 game for me. My favourite game of 2020 for sure but the bugs shouldn't be ignored. I had to reload saves a few times and the floating NPCs and other weird stuff was just LOL.

Saying that, I can't wait to get the next gen update on Series X. It already runs very well on the new Xbox and I want to see what CDPR have got planned for this because the scope is there. The main story is very good and I liked all of the characters.

The bad reviews giving it like 7/10 are BS though. These same people will claim that God of War and Halo are the best games ever when both are very average gaming fare (as an example).

Got the Malorian: best pistol in FPS. Love everything about it: sounds, looks, reload animations. Even comes with cool bash attack ( that sets enemy on fire)

I did not have enough money to buy all the cars.
You really don't need to spend money on vehicles. Jackie's Arch is second best bike in the game ( and you get it for free), you can get one Quadra/sports car as reward for one of side gigs, and you can find a hypercar for free. Plus a few others from other quests.
Only thing I bought was that Akira bike ( best in the game and sells for just about 22k eddies).
Money wise( ignoring the exploits), it's probably best to get some good cyberware first, and save some money to buy from stores with clothing/weapon mods. ( there are some legendary items there hard to find).

For anyone interested: this is how fully upgraded Dying Night pistol looks like. It's the first Iconic pistol that you get from Wilson, the owner of 2nd amendment gun store in Megabuilding H10 where V's apartment is located.

Yes, I played the entire game using just this one pistol. :messenger_hushed:

i think i scrapped that. i upgraded it a bit but i was getting guns that were way better and didn't want to waste my materials.

I just liked the name and the looks of it. So I decided to stick with it. It's defiantly not the best pistol in the game but damn it's so fun to shoot with silencer. Reload speed is ultra fast, magazine holds 21 rounds and it just obliterates fools from stealth.

I downloaded this Reshade preset from Nexus mods. I think it makes the game look sick. Vibrant and sharp. What do you Guys think?

I was trying to 100 percent the game but then kind of gave up.
The motorbikes were the only way to drive around in the game. I got the Kusanagi early on and used it pretty much as my only vehicle.
The tiny narrow streets and the horrible mini map guide line were my biggest gripe about this entire game. The city design was just one big maze. I was able to live with all the bugs. There is a game here with good characters and good writing.
As for the writing. I would consider it a victim of the Cyberpunk theme. At no point did I ever feel I was making a 'right' choice.
I give it a 7 out of 10 for keeping me engaged all this time.
Vallhalla next I guess.

I have NO idea what the game was trying to pull between my hetero male V and Kerry in the Boat Drinks mission but it wasn't very cash money.

I was just being a bro and offered to help him destroy that guy's yacht, then as I'm helping him take something apart, this extremely cringe moment happens. All of a sudden we're within kissing distance and then he tells me something along the lines of no thanks or not interested.

Excuse me? The feeling is quite mutual, yet the game acted like I was thirsty for the dude. What in the world... :pie_roffles:

The only thing bad about Malorian is that it's outclassed heavily by any gun past level 30, and if you invest into crafting, then any upgraded iconic is better by a mile. Shame too, cause I fuckin' love Malorian.

and god help you if you talk to someone when you've crouched cause if you press C you'll skip dialogue.

While it's ridiculous they were attached to the same key in the first place, you can rebind crouch toggle to something else. I put it on Mouse 4.

Do "iconics" scale based on level you get them( I'm guessing it doesn't go further after you get them)?
I'm lvl 43, and it does almost twice as much base damage/DPS compared to what is listed here ( https://vulkk.com/2020/12/12/cyberp...an-arms-3516-johnny-silverhand-s-power-pistol )

Yeah, and if you craft/upgrade them they get even better with all the perks that improve crafted items. Maximum I coud get out of my Malorian fully upgraded at level 50 is 560 something DPS, for comparison, revolver that Kerry gives you as a reward fully upgraded does like 2300+

Anyone seen that third person mod? The game looks so much better that way but of course the animations arent designed for it. Wonder how good they will make it and how it'll work when talking to someone.

This game while broken is fun as hell. Just seen a youtube video where some anonymous developer said alot was cut from the final game Including a whole underground sewer network of the city, police system where you could play as a cop, Johnny being a cut down version of the original character and heaps of other cut content. Apparently the June 2021 update should fix heaps of the issues and reintroduce alot of the cut content.

Is this legit?!

What was planned from the beginning and their vision will be implemented in the Jun 2.0 release!?

Thx!!

I seriously doubt it's anything more than "my uncle works at CDPR'. I guess there is some truth to those rumors, but all that "developer" insider info sounds like some wild fan fantasy they didn't get in this game.

I believe in things like cut metro stations and wallrunning etc., cause it was obviously planned to be included, but a completely different storyline with 18 games worth of content and voice acting, and full underground city sewer? Really?

How is everyone managing their inventory? After every few missions I go back to my apartment, dump everything in my stash, and then pull out all lower dps duplicates to dismantle. Also the inventory system sucks.

I used to dismantle all clothing items and melee weapons and sell most guns. For whatever reason, most clothing items outside of chest pieces and melee weapons sell for next to nothing while guns can fetch a decent price. If I got encumbered during a mission, I would just dismantle the guns, too.

I'm always skeptical of anyone who has clueless cigar chomping executives micromanaging game development decisions in their stories. Reeks of fan fiction.

I hear ya..It does sound like a pipe dream, shame, probably will never see the light of day. If anything even close to what was said in the rumors, would be insane. DLC expansions drops can really surprises out of the blue fingazz crossed.

At times while exploring the world you can help but notice so much content/potential was wiped off.

This was my second biggest gripe. Inventory was a mess.
Why were the messages separate from your cell phone?
Why were mission critical shards just chucked into a list among hundreds.
Why was I not able to craft multiple items at a time?
Why was the perk menu so spread out.
I put all my focus into crafting. deconstructed everything which is why I did not have enough money to buy cars.
I would craft mods that let me carry more stuff and slot them into the cothing that had the most mod slots.
Crafted a legendary shotgun that I then upgraded even further that was so powerful that I did not need anything else.

I really wish there was a "lock item" toggle and a better UI.

Inventory management in this game is jank as fuck.

One thing I wish there was more of in this game and where they should expand- enemy netrunners that make hacking more difficult.

The concept of the netrunner used to protect networks is awesome, and there are a few missions that do more with that concept, but right now if I see a netrunner from pings (highlighted orange) they are simply my first target that I destroy immediately with no consequences. Early on I was hacked a few times and overheated, but that was it.

A few ideas...
  • Netrunners have hacking 'armour' that you have to slowly peel away by attacking different systems they are connected to (or just by reaching them and killing them).
  • They should not show up from pings to the network at all. Or create ping 'illusions' to mislead you. Or hide enemies from pings. Or even add pings of enemies that aren't actually there.
  • Netrunners could move around through their own network and essentially be 'in' a laptop you are on, or even taking over enemies connected to their network.
  • As you get into higher difficulty areas they should introduce more hacking 'traps' you have to avoid. Spiked hacks you can avoid if you are attentive and careful.
  • Breach protocols with 'mines' you have to avoid or quickly move past (they give you WAY too much time to do breaches in the first place).

Hope they can expand more on all these systems so you feel more badass as a hacker. I feel like this is one area where they could add a lot of gameplay relatively easy (since it is a lot more UI based gameplay), compared to stuff like 'redoing the entire open world NPC system to not suck' :p

I sell all junk and all common weapons. Anything else that I'm not using I basically disassemble. There's zero point disassembling Common goods at all because ultimately you're just going to end up with masses of common components anyway and honestly, it's just not worth it as this juncture to hoard them because for whatever fucked up reason there is no way currently to mass upgrade a whole bunch of components to the next tier versus 1 at a time (you need tech 16 to get the unlock to do this as well) I'm hoping that CDP update this at some point because honestly, it's kind of ridiculous to treat components like other crafting goods.

The lore of netrunning, daemons, ICE, etc is fantastic but the accompanying gameplay aspect of netrunning doesn't do the lore justice. The gameplay element is too easy, and simple.

Took me a while but you can rip off the turrets and use the gun as a beast gun. So now I deactivate with hacking and go up to it rip off the gun and mow down everyone.

Is there a way to buy that gun anywhere and keep it in your inventory?

well my refund on PS5 didn't take, but that figures, because i had put 49 or so hours into the game. that's fine. turns out the game didn't crash for a day or so.

i was able to play a bunch this weekend, getting quite near the end of the game, but still wanting to do some side ops. i still get some hard crashes which was a bummer. sometimes i can play for a few hours without anything happening. sometimes the crashes are hitting a bunch at once and i just go play Immortals: Fenyx Rising instead. eventually they will fix all this out.

game is still fun late into it. the Delamaine car factory was a cool side op.
