I'm in the same boat but I didn't get a refund and also 55+ hours in. I don't want the refund anymore and I hope they don't process it.
Also planning to build a PC this year and will return to this game on PC in future though I'm going to keep playing it as its a lot of fun even though there are some issues. It crashes a lot for me too but It doesn't bother me as much as i thought it would.
This game just keeps me coming back.

Their best option right now, would be putting all their projects on hold ( besides Gwent) and investing into one big, free DLC/expansion that would fix game's shortcomings: by improving/overhauling existing systems and adding some content ( lifepath specific quests, some additional quests based on faction choices, etc).
There is enough hate circlejerk and negative hyperboles around the game that incremental improvements over 1-2 years would make little difference ( in public reception)...something like that would have a stronger, "Wow" effect and restore some good will. And probably it would result in better financial for CDPR when it comes to DLCs and expansions.
I'm also hoping for good modding tools, but that's probably a long shot.

to be honest they're fucked either way unless the hate train stops for some reason. i wouldn't want to be a cdpr developer right now.

They don't really have a choice, it's pretty much Do or Die for CDPR. They're not like Ubisoft with god knows how many IPs they can be working on. They have to do something similar ( in public turn-around) as Square did with FF14 ( and for that communication/engaging with the players is critical/I'm not saying that means listening to every entitled idiot).

been really enjoying playing on PC. m+k turns out really good for both shootouts and hacking.

really it comes down to me just massively enjoying the minute to minute gameplay. i love taking on the little blue assault or search/rescue events dotted all over the city. getting to sneak in and infiltrate a group of baddies, stealth them all out, or take them down in a shootout, it is just a lot of fun. i love doing it. i can't get enough of that gameplay. this time around i'm not even touching the story, just diving full on into the city and all the side missions. seeing how far i can go before advancing the story. really, there is so much to do.

Basically for two reasons: gameplay and theme. Disclaimer: I have no idea what Refused is.

Gameplay wise is a set of missions that mostly require little intervention from the player. There's no state checks for the dialogues trees, there's no different outcomes from the conversations and you are only required to press a button to do something (swallow pill, bob head, flash horns). That's even below what Telltale games do. Also, there's little introduction for the characters (who has the chubby woman with an afro up to that point?), so I never felt anything for them since they were total strangers to me.

Thematically I feel that source material hasn't aged very well. I sincerely don't see a rebel rockerboys fighting world wars outside of a night club. Do you imagine Bono or Aungus Young assaulting the Blackwater HQ? In leathers pants? I understand you enjoy the missions since you are a fan of the basic source material and music, but how would you feel it the game forced you to do the horse dance from Gangam style at the press of a button? It would be as bad as flashing horns and bobbing heads...
Appreciate the reply. I can agree that it could use some more interaction, here and in every game, but I'm also a sucker for missions like these that break up the usual gameplay flow of combat + talking. The woman with the afro is Denny*, former drummer of Samurai who you can also see sans afro in the opening Johnny scene and is mentioned in a Johnny specific side quest with the Samurai bootleg vendor. I really hope that old guy is in the crowd somewhere during the reunion gig, would be a nice touch of detail and a shame if he missed it haha. If you compare it to the real world, yeah the material would fall apart. Bono doesn't have the heart that do that anyways lol. In reality, Johnny's assault would probably play out as well as what just happened in DC. A bunch of domestic terrorists essentially owning themselves. On the other hand, Johnny and his crew are mostly military trained or very experienced in combat/ops, full of cyberware and hardened mercs so who knows. Comes down to one's willingness to suspend their level of disbelief, like I don't ever buy Ellie in TLOU taking down hundreds of post apocalyptic hardened men twice her size. Everyone's preference or tolerance, for a lack of a better word, is different from game to game. Discussions would be a drag if we all loved or hated every single piece of content in a game.

I'd probably not press F to Horsey Dance lol. Different strokes for sure and like you said, my background with this kind of scene, the music and attending many gigs in dive bars, makes it resonate a whole lot more with me. If you're not all in, for any game, then it can feel uninteresting. I can respect that.

My Refused comment was more of a funny observation than any kind of comment about you so I hope you didn't take it that way. They're a Swedish hardcore punk band whose seminal album, The Shape of Punk to Come, released in 1998 to next to no fanfare but slowly built up a following as more people actually heard the album. They've been non-conformist and anti-establishment since the beginning. Not just politically but TSOPTC was also a rebellion against punk/hardcore music itself. Those qualities aren't unique at all to punk per se but their 1998 album was highly creative and influential, then and now, and mixed influences not commonly heard in this genre of music. They broke up shortly after the release of that album and have reunited a few times in the ensuing years. A pretty damn good fit for Samurai in many ways and I appreciate how much work and effort Refused and CDPR put into creating 5 original songs for a fictional band that is crucial to the game world but can also be overlooked or missed. I actually enjoy the Samurai songs which is the most surprising part for me.

*Did anyone not pick Denny? The other guy was a total dick. I'll take Pam Grier in a jumpsuit as my drummer over him every time.

Fingers Sells it

fingers sells the hover jump. double jump is sold by many ripperdocs. but what i mean is that when you are falling down you can't double jump. the window is pretty small for double jumping. if i jump off a rooftop and i try to double jump close to the ground it doesn't work.

You realise that development studios have a production pipeline right? That there are various teams that deal with different aspects of a project throughout its lifetime. The entire studio wasn't feverishly beavering away on patches post-release. The DLC for the game will have been in production for a while now.

They also give you some prizes for beating the game my problem is it doesn't seem like they let you keep all the loot you get during the end game missions.

I dunno about all the generic trash, but I definitely kept the
gardener's spade
that I picked up.

Had to take a break from Gaf and other gaming forums because of this game.

I still don't understand how can you go from The Witcher 3 to this, what a disappointment.

Been thinking more about my disappointment with the main story. It just ended so abruptly after such a great start. Then I got to thinking about another game that was just like that. The Witcher 2. CDPR admitted that they had to cut The Witcher 2 short in a Game Informer interview to prevent bankruptcy. They had to get it out the door and had to quick wrap up what they had. They cut more than half of chapter 3 out. And it was very noticeable for me and I felt let down compared to The Witcher. Cyberpunk, like The Witcher 2, gives me the impression that it was meant to be played more than once to try different paths. The Witcher 1 and 3 were not really like that. It is clear that Cyberpunk was rushed out, but it seems more than just QA/QC was cut. I feel like much of the story was cut. The main plot does not fit well with all of the side content. It is like you are playing two separate games. One where V is doing mercenary work to whoever is paying and one where V is racing against the clock to save himself. Those do not work well together. Patches will not fix this.

Ok so there is a second level to the painting glitch that makes you super rich, and it also works for anything else in the game. This will basically break the game for you so proceed with caution.

Essentially hold start+triangle at the same time at any of the terminals. hold them at the same time. You should get a more transperant screen and a little glitch kind of bit when you tranistion over. Thats how you know it worked. Then you can buy back your items as many times as you want. So basically you can buy back the painting over and over in one shot. I have 500 of them sitting in my inventory. You can do that with guns, legendary mods basically anything you can sell. All you have to do is click X on the item over and over again. I also think you need to have the money as well so keep that in mind. But you can essentially get as many legendary crafting items that you want with this trick.

Thats how I feel. There is a disconnect in this game and somewhere along the line there was probably a huge fight in management where a decision was made. The game also feels schizophrenic in that it wants to be this tightly wound narrative with a movie star lead role, but also wants you to have a blank slate avatar that can become and do anything. Both of these concepts clash with each other.

Your doing all kinds of jobs all over the city killing every single gang member you come across no matter affiliation, and then your in this story for Johnny trying to save yourself from dying. Just doesn't match up.

I think the game could have used the 3 life paths as 3 different stories and to get to see everything in the game you play it mulitple times. Life paths also should have been classes so you either play as hacker, gun, or stealth/melee.

Well that happens in the Witcher 3 too. You are racing against the clock to find ciri before the wild hunt and at the same time you are doing monster contracts and helping random villagers.

In fact it happens in a lot of games. But I think they could've handled it better by changing some things in the story.

Any word when next patch is coming out? ( and what they're planning)
Trying some old/new games, but I just can't get into them after Cyberpunk.
Sorry not sure about this.

Have you tried some challenge runs? Im still on my fist run and even though Im already stealth oriented, I am considering doing a very hard no kill run next. Obviously the "reset" hack would basically be the focus later in the game and the non kill takedown from behind the early one. Might have to grind a bit before doing the heist. It is possible But my fear is that it would become repetitive later? I suppose you get the mods that prevent kills also and that would make it the same as the current game now wouldnt it? what happend when you use that mod? Do they stay down and reamain unconscious like the reset hack?

Haha literally none of this shit sounds interesting. Why are people so insistent on making these realistic simulations? Why would I even follow Misty around? What a waste of time that would be dumping dev resources into this random shit that has no impact on the actual game. Seriously.
The only reason I mentioned it was in support of what you say....the developers wanted the world to "look" full...you give this task to all the haters they will come up with the exact same resolution...unless you throw the dog a bone and script 20-30 characters to appease the haters...I agree, completely unnecessary, but would have been "cool."
one of the things i want is some way to mitigate fall damage. or something like a parachute or some way to activate your hovering boots or double jump while falling. i think one of the unique things in cyberpunk is that when you do quests on tall buildings or rooftops they are not a separate instance. like for example interiors (or cities) in the outer worlds or bethesda games are closed behind loading screens but that's not the case here. so when you take an elevator you are really taking an elevator and when you are on a rooftop you would be able to finish your quest and just jump off the building to the rest of the city.

i remember finishing one gig and leaving the area by jumping down from building to building until i landed on the street and it was great. the intended path was taking the elevator down but the game acknowledged that i left the building anyway so it worked great. though i understand sometimes when you go down an elevator there is a scripted sequence waiting for you and it could break some missions.
I think your best bet is to use the clothes mods and get a complete suit going that has fall damage reduction mods stacking. A video I saaw had the fall damamge approach 100% reduction...ths may not work past a certain height, but maybe mixed with double jump etc it might actually make it such that you can do a larger percentage of what you ant this way. I am in the proces of doing this myself...Ill let you know how it goes.

Yeah, they let me keep that but...

if you do the ending with Johnny and Rogue she has you gear up and you can grab a bunch of weapons, pretty sure I didn't get to keep those

I bought a PS4 Pro, and its crazy how much better this game runs over the Base version

Not only it runs much better, but also looks MUCH better. Its crazy that although bumping the resolution so much, they are able to make it run faster.

If I'm not mistsken, its running at PS5's resolution. Just, you know, 25-30 fps.

Game is a lot more enjoyable now.

On my way to do Judy's sidequest

There's a few more, but I'll leave those to the curious
There's actually quite more than just a few. Pretty much every named character that you decide to kill in a quest will show up. A nice touch.

Anybody else got a weird ticking sound glitch? Every time I play after about 20 minutes, maybe 30, I get this ticking sound that doesn’t go away even if I reload a save, it’s not very loud but it’s noticeable in menus. The only way to get it to go away is to re-launch the game but then it comes back shortly after.

It doesn’t matter what area I’m in either, and it just started happening probably about 10 gameplay hours ago.

100% this. I love that it's locked to FPP. If only the animations for your character would be better and you could see your reflection at all times in all surfaces with RT on... There's a mod for that but your head is missing and animations are the same as with 3rd person mod so yeah, they suck.
FPP is fine but you see other NPC from side yes? so why they couldnt do any action in those cutscenes ? Takemura so badass he didint do any fight thats so dissapointing and they could do that , just for some reason didint
most times when you see cutscene with takemura hes just walking and talking or eating or standing or sitting, thats it. imagine cutscene where Takemura in shooting fight with some group or jumping from building and braking some guy neck, and then he says: hey , long time no see... lol
