Most people say no.
I say yes if you're ready.
You should have your whole team at max lvl and be ready to lvlup main DMG immediately. Farming on WL6 can be a little tiresome for some.
Also, check your artifacts. If you have at least set bonuses and all your arts are gold, then I see no problem with ascension. Min maxing should be made at higher world levels. On WL5 you can melt everything without bothering with secondary stats.

Yes only and only if you're ready. Get your main team(or your strongest team) leveled, weapons leved, materials ready, mora ready, etc. Once you feel totally safe, then move on and as soon you increase your WR, just level up everybody. Use your main team to help the rest.

Streamer i follow says she is still far away, she probably will drop when version 1.4 or 1.5 drops. In February they will release the version 1.3. So maybe only in March, April or later.

I'd personally like it if they started giving us some more character stories. They were coming at a pretty good pace for a while there, and now, nothing. This is the downside to having everything fully voiced. We still have quite a few characters that haven't had their first character story yet.

Mihoyo is smart, they release a parade of husbandos and make ppl spend the primogems they saved in some of them, then save the waifus for later when ppl are dry and need to spend cash to pull them.
Meanwhile i have been hording primogems, 30k already, gonna spend in next banner on Ganyu, still need to test trial her, but i want a decent cryo char, and the banner will also have Noelle and Xiangling, that i use in my team, so nice oportunity to raise they constelations.

She was in a recent cutscene and she's from Wind city?
Ayaka is a princess from Electric city which will be released in 1.6(?).
Both girls can be pretty far away, but I still believe that vampire nun will be released before Inazuma. Maybe as a preparation for our travel there.
In Inazuma I'm also expecting to see that boy in a big hat from the meteorite event. I wonder if we will get an electric God in 1.6 or 1.7...

But she doesn't have a skill kit. I'm more inclined to believe those already fully playable in the beta would come faster, since theres simply no work to be done besides their main quest. Which would bring the question of what were their purpose in the beta.

They are definitely going to do Hu Tao and Xiao first. For 1.3

There is supposed to be the Liyue Festival thing in 1.3 and I guess a Mondstaht Wind Flower Festival is supposed to be 1.4.

Ayaka is definitely with or after Inazuma, so it doesn't matter if she's ready or not. Her kit is nothing special too, so she's hardly a meta changing character which MiHo can release as a shake up.
I have no idea what's MiHo is planning but up to the ice mountain all the characters we got were from known/latest region/story content.

Is she a healer like Barbara? I never saw her kit, which is why I was more inclined to believe those 2 would come first.

Um... she's kinda like Barbie.
She ends your suffering by shattering your frozen body into small pieces with her sword.
She's culling the weak with a DMG mark/increased DMD against low health enemies. Good main dps if you doesn't have any other 5☆, probably can work as a secondary DPD too. She will mop the floor with survivors from your main DPS attack rotation while it's on cooldown.

Just cashed out at the shop tonight, with all my primos and masterless starglitter, I have 85 pulls. At least 1 soft pity, let's hope it's Ganyu and not Qiqi C4. I know she was one of my "reroll" 5*s, but she keeps coming up in my rolls, mostly the free ones on the permanent banner. The worst part about all of this is that I am excited to get Ganyu, but not excited to actually use Ganyu. She'll be a melt reactor at best for me, and I think the Genshin community is going to hate her. Regardless, I wait for bow buffs and character ascension/transformation. It's basically an inevitability for both points, but here's hoping it's sooner than later. I still stand behind that she should have been Cryo Catalyst instead of bow, but we got what we got, and I'm tired of pulling for dudes.
What are you guys dropping on the upcoming banner?

Ganyu is live in the Asian server.
Spent initially about 8000 gems on about 53 wishes, having only pumped 5 into the character banner since getting Albedo. Started great, got 2 Noelle constellations in the first 20 pulls, finished with 4 for her.
Bought £15 worth of gems, about 2000 or so with the double, and got Ganyu on my 2nd pull after. Pretty happy.

And thanks. Stockpiled what I needed to get her to 70, need a few more things to get her to 80, and stole the Amos bow Fischl was using. Haven't had the best chance to test her since her skill-up items are in the fire trial, just gonna try for an item set to increase ice damage etc.

I think a full set of elemental catalyst users might break the game - it's bad/easy enough just swapping between lisa/barbara for constant electroshock when you've built for elemental mastery. Imagine if you could do the same with melt, vaporise etc
Not sure how this is going to play out long term for the game.
Aren't the offers on a 2(?) month timer, or am I getting confused with starglitter swaps

Charge shot was made for removing pigeons.
Elemental Burst seems pretty good. Lasts for 15 seconds and has a 15 second CD. With enough energy recharge, 100% uptime is possible. Melt combos all day.

I'm nearly as the guaranteed pity on the character banner (73 wishes) and I have about 40 wishes saved up.
Initially I was leaning toward waiting for Xiao due to his unique playstyle, his weapon (I only have one polearm user), and element (I only had the MC for anemo). However, after thinking about it and watching clips of Xiao, I'm not sure he really fits with the way I prefer to play. I also finally pulled Sucrose on the current banner, so I don't have to switch out my MC's element to have access to anemo.
None of the future rumored characters look that interesting to me. I already have a lot of pryo characters, so Hu Tao isn't appealing. Ayaka looks like she plays a bit like Keqing, who is my main, so that feels a bit boring, plus Ayaka's sprint could be an issue. Rosaria looks interesting with the cryo + spear combo, but who knows when she drops? I could probably save enough primogems by then, assuming I'm still playing the game.
So with those things in mind, I'll pull for Ganyu and hope she fits well as with Diluc + Mona/Xingqiu for some melt action. I wouldn't mind some Xingqiu constellations (I have him at C1 from the Klee banner), but I don't use Noelle or Xingling much (Ningguang would have made this banner so much better). Best case scenario is to quickly pull Ganyu and save the other wishes going forward.

Well, after doing some team comp thinking, I have to finally acknowledge Benny, going to level him up and try him in my Childe/Ning/Noelle team for those big Vaporize procs. I just found out today that his explosion knock back is completely nullified by shields. Also, I may or may not have been influenced by this gif:
