Machinegames doing Indiana Jones for Bethesda

Well, sounds like Microsoft's Uncharted. If Uncharted is basically an Indiana Jones ripoff, why not to use the Indiana Jones IP to make their Uncharted-like game? Sounds like a great idea.

MachineGames has talent, their games had good reviews. I think now they can do a better job with Todd Howard's help and very likely with a bigger budget and more resources than before thanks to MS money. Sounds great.

The thing is, MachineGames is too focused on FPS so we have to see how they would perform with a 3rd person game. And we know they are good, but will need to improve a lot if they want to face directly Naughty Dog. I think it would be a better option to try to differientiate it, instead of making it too similar to Uncharted.

I wonder if Indiana Jones' daughter is the protagonist. I really have a hard time believing current year LucasFilm would make an Indiana Jones game.
The biggest appeal of the brand is the Indiana Jones character and Harrison Ford as main character. So the main character has to be Indy, to look like Harrison Ford during the original trilogy and if possible voiced by Harrison Ford himself.

They already have Perfect Dark for a female main character. In that other case it's a great fit, but not in the case of Indiana Jones. And well, no need to fill any diversity quota here including a trans black lesbian as main character to be politically correct with the woke crowd. Like in the previous MachineGames, in Indiana Jones the main character punches and shoots nazis, so I think no diversity quotas would be needed here, I think it already is enough politically correct.

Did you play the last one? I just did, and yikes. It's no where near as good as lost legacy. Also they went crazy with the abilities.perks.

Hopefully this isn't first person.
Honestly I thought the first one was the only good one. Rise I didn't like at all. Shadow I thought was better than rise at least.

do not tempt fate do not contrain Wonder Woman's thighs do not do not
LucasFilm couldnt possibly allow this to be a Console exclusive.

Im assuming it will still get PS5 versions

Yea the first one is awesome. Rise had good gameplay but the story was kind of meh. Shadow I played the first part and then could not care less to continue.

Holy Shit. Am stoked for a new game starring Dr. Jones, but am a bit apprehensive about the developer.

Machinegames? Well they did make the new Wolfenstein games that were pretty well recieved, but I don't want a third person shooter. I want a third person shooter/platformer like Uncharted or Tomb Raider.

Also they were called Starbreeze Studios back then, co founded by Vin Diesel.
Technically Starbreeze still exists. Machinegames was started from about 10 members that left Starbreeze. You might being thinking of Tigon Studios that Vin Diesel founded and co-developed games with Starbreeze.

I honestly didn’t know they were even doing a Indiana Jones game. Not bad. If it’s coming from Bethesda so I’m assuming it’s going to be like an RPG type game.

I wonder if they can find another cool biblical artifact, like the Brass Serpent that Moses made, or maybe King Solomon's Mines (i know that is Quatermaine). Maybe he will go find more aliens and their knowledge treasure.

Bethesda publishes plenty of games that aren't RPGs. Machinegames has also done only shooters, but being Indiana Jones it's almost guaranteed to be action-adventure.

This looks in early stages. Is MS really bankrolling a ps5 game for the next 3 years?

Currently the buyout is not 100% finalized. As in they still dont own any control yet. Machine games hasn't worked on anything large since Wolfenstein 2. They did a expansion, but it was short. So what have they been working on? To me this was already in the works for some time. As in story, characters and all that have been written. So this has been at least in concept for a while if they are putting out a teaser. I mean could be just a announcment teaser which is what It seems. But I would have to believe they have been in talks with Lucas for a while now.

It could be exclusive if Microsoft and zenimax is finalized, but I don't think lucas arts would want to have one platform. Unless MS flexed gamepass as a reason why it should?

So Zenimax hasn't been acquired by Microsoft yet, so this game was commissioned whilst they were (and technically still are) independent.

There's 0% chance it's not cross platform
that's an interesting point. this would suck for colteastwood if it shows up on Sony's list. I will have a good chuckle.

New order was fine but had bad forced stealth, hit n scan weapons and a weird internal voice.
New colossues was just bad.
They never made 3rd person game... well let's see it might be interesting

I’m surprised Indiana Jones is still considered a bankable IP today, the last movie was twelve years ago and was shit. Do Zoomers even know him?

Still might be good, but I’m expecting a lot of introspection monologues since it’s by the Wolfenstein guys.

As long as they don't follow the formula for their last two games I will be excited. The New Colossus was not bad but there were things in it I didn't care for and were unnecessary.

I wonder if it will be first person or 3rd person? A shooter or more of an RPG/Adventure? I am thinking an Uncharted clone.

Actually I like machine games do a game which is not fps

I feel they are a great studio from their work on wolfenestine

just hope it is on a new engine to do it justice

about it being exclusive I do not know but I doubt it since lucas films will want maximum profits of selling a huge ip full price

I suspect gamepass will not provide that

matter of fact I think marvel let sony do spider man game ps exclusive only cause sony sell it full price and ps4 has 100 m plus install base

and sony owns spider man movies rights so they need each other

See MLB forced sony to make the show multiplat ??

it is normal on licensed IPs
