Which of these two fantasy RPGs did you enjoy more? The eurojank upstart or the asian cult classic?

Outward DLC trailer

Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen

Keep in mind there are roughly 7 years between these games.

Dragon's Dogma is one of my favorite games of all time.

Never even heard of Outward lol
Edit:And by watching the trailer i'm not even sure why you compare them.
I compared them because they're both fantasy RPGs with cool third-person combat.

Really, this is a stealth Outward shoutout thread. I figured those who liked DD might be interested in checking out... Outward.

I bought a sex doll, but I keep it inflated 100% of the time and use it like a regular wife
Nah, I think the only multiplayer aspect is split-screen co-op, otherwise it's fully singleplayer.
Oh thanks! I wathced Seth's review and I don't know why but I thought it was some kind of MMO. :messenger_grinning_sweat:

Have you played outward? How is it? Looks interesting but also kinda barebones.

Dragons Dogma is great.

Haven't played Outward. It looks somewhat interesting but everything I've read about it sounds like I probably wouldn't enjoy it. I don't like the survival aspect, and it sounds slow in an annoying way.

Yeah, I played it months ago, and it didn't seem to have a lot of content. I think it just started out slow though.

Though I hear it's a little more polished now with the extra content from the DLC.

If you like Dragons Dogma then you should also play outward.

It draws some inspiration, has a great magic system and and has a lot more depth than DD. Can also be played in coop, both online and in split screen

For those unfamiliar with the game its worth reading this:

Don't dismiss things just because you've not heard of them before.

Yes but we can dismiss things that don't look particularly interesting and fun to play. Just because it's an action RPG in a fantasy setting doesn't mean that fans of Dragon's Dogma should definitely be interested to play it.
I watched the trailer again and it looks and plays nothing like DD. I could be wrong and it may actually be a good game but i don't see any relations to Capcom's game.

One thing I will say is that the trailers do a poor job of selling the game.

If you want to dismiss the things people who've actually played the game are saying then your loss. It can be picked up for very cheap these days and it's very likely you'll enjoy this if you enjoyed the experience Dragons Dogma gave you. It's a highly underrated game and doesn't hold back in terms of how literally it takes some role playing mechanics.

I can't vote since I've only played Dragon's Dogma, but when I play third-person RPGs I tend to feel a yearning to return to that game, so it's an experience that's hard to top. This Outward doesn't look particularly tempting, but I do like eurojank. I'd need to be sold on it before buying.
Wow I just heard two quick beeps from my PC. Wonder what's up.

I'm a big fan of Dragon's Dogma but there are many people who I respect the opinion RPG wise who likes Outward a lot. I bought it last month and will start playing soon.

Perhaps this thread wasn't the best way to advertise Outward. Dragon's Dogma fans are very combative since DD doesn't have even half the prestige it deserves.

Outward seems to have more in common with Morrowind and Breath of the Wild than DD. The biggest draw is exploration, combat is not as important, judging by reviews.

Outward looked so intriguing to me. Played it for about two hours and gave up. The combat feels jankier than the Gothic games and even more punishing somehow.

I could play Gothic, Risen, even a bit of Two Worlds, but Outward was something else entirely. If part of the draw of Dragon's Dogma was its excellent combat system, I don't think you'll get much out of Outward, but again, I could only stomach two hours of it.

Yeah, an 'If you liked x you might want to check out y' type thread would probably have been more effective.

Pitting them against each other really only has one obvious winner.

Lol

90% of the votes in that poll at from people who have never played Outward (I haven't). A poll is useless when you compare a cult classic like DD to something more obscure.
